I'm sad to report that the year does end.
In the coming August we will return again
This year is ending but not without fun
How do we feel that the year's almost done?

All in all, we're pretty excited
Summer is coming and we got invited
The end of the tunnel has been sighted
And the time off school has us delighted

We had seven classes a day
And we won't be sad when that goes away
Now I have time to go outside and play
Who am I kidding: video games. all day.

Even the teachers are counting down
Excited like a clock that's been over wound
They really want their long summer break
They're planning the vacation they wanna take

It's gonna be nice, on a tropical island
Not having to worry about hair stylin'
Sipping beverages with little umbrellas
And occasional winking at the good lookin' fellas

We have just a few tests left to take
Let's knock them all out and leave a wake
On the last week of school, finals arrive
Just conquer them and stay alive.

I know I'm just a simple sophomore
So I have 2 years left for more
Then I'll leave MSD with my diploma
Then off to college, leavin' home (hoe-muh, emphasize -me)

Let's not get ahead of the immediate future
Summer's extra time with that guy who's kinda cute, sure
Don't let friends give you sass, or you'll just sass them back, and if they don't stop, then I guess you'll have to mute her (said "hurrrrr")

This is the best time to do whatever you please
You can take a vacay down to the Keys
Or get a Mig Mac at the closest MickeyD's
Whatever you do, try not to break your knees

Don't get too excited, it's not here yet
There are still a few tests that you've gotta get
Not to mention preparing for SATs
I'll study study study study study oh jeez

Forget about that and think of the summer
Where you cram so much stuff, it can't be a bummer
A summer camp or two with extra volunteering
And babysitting your sister, oh so endearing

Preparing for the fateful day in August
When we return to the school that we never missed
Back to the grades, teachers, and classes
Studying so hard I'll need to to get glasses

But next year we'll schedule in blocks
Which excites the teachers out of their socks
Each class is 90 minutes long
Any longer and it'd be morally wrong

Advancing on to the next grade
All for getting your GPA made
Close to perfect so the colleges accept
To show the talents at which you're adept

I don't know what the other teachers were like
But mine were pretty cool, most of them nice
My favorite ones, I'd like to have again
Alas, that probably won't happen ("-pen")

First in the day was Mr. Rabin
Conducting orchestras so they could win
Buried under three separate classes
Enjoyed by most and taken by the masses

Following was Señora Garcia
Teaching español every dia
Engaging the class with her jokes and charts
Every student takes their parts

Post español was Mrs. Viswanathan
Teaching us math with our phones in the bin
Assigning homework in the book or worksheet
Giving reviews that could never be beat

Then came time for Mr. Payne
Giving world history for our brain
Doing kahoots and some videos
He has his lessons ready to go

From there to the greatest Ms. Lippel
Doing her job outstandingly well
Teaching us tone, ethos, and hooks
Making each class one for the books

Next came Ms. Lippel once more
A different subject behind the same door
Writing creatively is the goal this time
So write we shall, with a little rhyme

From there, I went to Ms. Benson
Teaching us about diffusion
She definitely knows her craft
But when she asked about exemptions, the whole class laughed

This year was definitely new
New classes, people, and things to do
I spent my nights feeling stressed out
I say Good Riddance to that, without a doubt

When one year ends, another begins
I'm ready to move on with my life once again
I must thank my teachers for all that they do
So to this year's teachers: thank you!
