  1. So this is the longest video in a while. I wanted to do a bunch of things, since the next videos will be doing the Timed Duels. Those take a while, and actually won't be official parts of the walkthrough. I'll just upload them as their own playlist. Since this is such a long part, I'll have a lot to say :-)
  2.
  3. So the first thing I do in this video is talk to Chazz, and refused to duel him five times. Here are my notes on how I go about doing it:
  4. Next weekend, make sure you have your 10 wins on Blair. If you’re done, or she’s not available, then I’ll mention something kind of strange, but cool. Go ahead and find Chazz. But instead of dueling him, tell him “No”, refusing to duel. You see, there’s an event where if you do this 5 times, you trigger an event with him later in the game. So if you can, this weekend talk to him, and refuse a duel 5 times. If he isn’t there, duel Fontaine.
  5.
  6. The following week, my goal is to meet Gerard. A lot of the time though, he won't unlock until the evening. So I just duel Fontaine if he's not there.
  7.
  8. 1st Duel
  9. - So this is something I'll probably do more than once: I forgot to switch back to Machines. I kind of wanted to reset, but I already used to save state, so I figured I might as well win as fast as I can. But to be absolutely honest, I have way more fun using the Water deck then just smashing people with Machines lol
  10.
  11. 2nd Duel
  12. - Gerard was made so that someone who sucked at the game could at least win against this guy. He really is the worst duelist in the game, so much so that he won't be able to destroy a Mystic Tomato by battle sometimes. That's why it's preferred to duel Fontaine rather than him; you'll see some duel go slowly just because Tomato doesn't get destroyed.
  13.
  14. 3rd Duel
  15. - Like I said, tomato doesn't always get destroyed. So it had to be Metal Reflect + Metamorphosis to win the game.
  16.
  17. 4th Duel
  18. - The reason I flipped the Nimble's at around 10:45 is because I don't want both to get destroyed next turn.
  19. - Overall this duel went pretty slow, lucky I drew into two Limiters though.
  20.
  21. 5th Duel
  22. - this went just about as fast as I can ask for.
  23.
  24. Buying cards
  25. Here are my personal notes on what you by here:
  26. The very next Saturday after Gerard unlocks, buy cards:
  27. 1. Warriors: Black Luster Soldier: Envoy of the Beginning*, Wasteland Amazon (II), Reinforcement of the Army (I or II)
  28. - Spend what's necessary for BLS, even up to 16-17 packs all at once. The rest buy in singles. Be patient, or even buy new packs and come back right after. If there’s a pack with lots of new cards, get it and keep going. *Note: If you’re unlucky, you can also find Reinforcement in Spell Collection 2.*
  29. 2. Old strats where to buy Witch here, I should have skipped it but oh well.
  30.
  31. Something to note: from this point on, instead of simply getting the cards you need, you aim to complete the packs as much as possible, while making sure you've purchased what's necessary. You should have a ton of DP, and some experience with buying packs.
  32.
  33. Here’s the general method:
  34. JUST BUY IN MASS FOR PACKS ALL AT ONCE, IT’S FASTER. TAKE THE TIME AND FIND OUT THE EXACT NUMBER OF PACKS YOU NEED TO COMPLETE SOMETHING AROUND 80%-95%, SO THAT IN FUTURE RUNS, THAT NUMBER BECOMES THE STANDARD.
  35.
  36. Having this in mind will be critical when your focus shifts to obtaining all 1200 cards in the game. You don’t have to go for 100% fully, because when you have 90% of all the cards in the game (at least 1080/1200 cards), another pack will unlock that’s specifically made to help beat the game. But for now, let's move on to the rest of the packs:
  37.
  38. 1. Dragons in Flight: Chaos Emperor Dragon: Envoy of the End*, Paladin of White Dragon*, White Dragon Ritual.
  39. 2. Pyrogen: Buy around 18-19 packs to get to mid 80’s, then buy in singles to complete.
  40. 3. Machines: Buy around 14-15 packs to get to mid 80’s, then buy in singles to complete.
  41. - Buy to complete the pack, attempting to get CED and complete all at once. It’s also available in another pack later.
  42. 4. Fairy Dance: Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands (III), Senju of the Ten Thousand Hands, Marshmellon.
  43. - Buy around 15 packs to get to 80%, buy in singles to complete. Look to get at least 2 Manju.
  44. 5. Residents of the Sea: Buy around 12-13 packs to get to mid 80’s, then buy in singles to complete.
  45.
  46. - although I've done a few complete Playthrough's before, I'm still not 100% sure on the best way to buy packs in mass. So I just buy mainly to get to the mid-80s percentage, then by in one or two packs to try to complete it. Regardless, we've shifted to the point in the game where you want to totally complete packs more often than not.
  47. - Since it's been a while since I've bought packs, I'll say that a lot of the time, you're buying for multiple different decks that you'll have to make in the future. So I go out of my way to search for stuff like Wasteland Amazon and Reinforcement of the Army, just because I'll have to use those cards later.
  48. - I put a little annotation at 19:12, skipping to 25:24, just because it's a little boring to watch me buy cards lol
  49. - I quickly add BLS to the deck, and move on to trying to finish Gerard up to nine total wins this weekend.
  50.
  51. 6th Duel
  52. - Around 27:30, I chain Book to Magic Cylinder, just because I want to trigger a potential Jammer. But he didn't have it... it was a damn House of Adhesive Tape! So annoying how it works on Cyber Stein lmao
  53.
  54. 7th Duel
  55. - Cyber Twin and Ring are good cards.
  56.
  57. 8th Duel
  58. - Snatch Steal is a good card.
  59.
  60. 9th Duel
  61. - I play so awkwardly just trying to bait his cards. This duel went so long lol
  62.
  63. 10th Duel
  64. - BLS is really good when Cyber Stein doesn't work out. To be honest, you rarely ever win a game with it.
  65.
  66. Buying cards
  67. Here are my notes on what you by here:
  68. 1. Live Vehicles: UFOroid* (II)
  69. - Buy 3 packs for both UFOroid, then complete to 100% (it’s pretty easy)
  70. 2. Use the card password for a 3rd copy; you use 3 in a later deck.
  71. UFORoid: 07602840
  72.
  73. With that, I've done just about everything I've wanted to do in Slifer red. There won't be many parts of the Playthrough for a while, since now I have to do all the Timed Duels. I'll explain what they are, and why you do them at this time in the game.
  74.
  75. Overall wins: 115
  76. This video: Gerard (9), Fontaine (1).
  77. Total: Syrus (10), Chumley (8), Jaden (9), Fontaine (10), Chazz (9), Zane (8), Titan (2), Banner (10), Bastion (10), Pharaoh (1), Crowler (8), Blair (10), Alexis (9), Alexis' Lackeys (2), Gerard (9).
