  1. 23:08 Sen{DM} == START ==
  2. 23:08 Sen{DM} The spider tilts itself on its legs in a curious but wary manner. It seems you'll get to move first.
  3. 23:10 aquaticApathy Lovely. I take my sword and give it a bit of an unnecessary flourish. I slowly circle it before lunging for its front legs, seeing just how much damage I can do.
  4. 23:10 Sen{DM} Roll to hit
  5. 23:12 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  6. 23:12 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 14 <Total: 14(+2) = 16>
  7. 23:13 Sen{DM} You slice the hell out of those legs. The spider rears back with an ungodly squeal
  8. 23:13 Sen{DM} Roll damage
  9. 23:14 aquaticApathy !roll 1d8+2
  10. 23:14 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d8: 7 <Total: 7(+2) = 9>
  11. 23:15 Sen{DM} The spider's bleeding pretty good, but that doesn't seem to be slowing it down any
  12. 23:16 Sen{DM} !roll 1d20+2
  13. 23:16 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d20: 13 <Total: 13(+2) = 15>
  14. 23:16 aquaticApathy Yeah, I didn't really expect to take it down in one hit. Something about being continuously disappointed by those around me.
  15. 23:17 Sen{DM} The spider makes no note of your disappointment and slams its wounded legs into your torso
  16. 23:18 Sen{DM} !roll 1d6
  17. 23:18 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d6: 3 <Total: 3>
  18. 23:18 Sen{DM} Take three damage
  19. 23:19 aquaticApathy I stumble back a couple feet and try to make a sound of pain, but due to being completely fucking winded by being punched by a spider, it's kind of impossible.
  20. 23:22 Sen{DM} The spider does not press its advantage and remains where it's standing
  21. 23:22 aquaticApathy Well if that's not a taunt, I don't know what is. Dick.
  22. 23:28 aquaticApathy I ready myself to get back into striking range of the spider, but try and track its wounded legs, because if I can cut through those, this whole thing becomes a LOT easier. I leap to the right, trying to land on the balls of my feet so that I can feint and dash to the left with my sword poised to go through the wounded legs.
  23. 23:29 Sen{DM} Roll acrobatics and to hit, in that order please
  24. 23:31 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  25. 23:31 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 5 <Total: 5(+2) = 7>
  26. 23:31 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  27. 23:31 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 1 <Total: 1(+2) = 3>
  28. 23:31 Sen{DM} Unfortunately, you do not land gracefully and just barely avoid stabbing yourself
  29. 23:32 Sen{DM} !roll 1d20+2
  30. 23:32 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d20: 10 <Total: 10(+2) = 12>
  31. 23:33 aquaticApathy Well this is just great...
  32. 23:34 Sen{DM} The spider tries to take advantage of your flailing by snagging you with a strand of webbing, but it just misses
  33. 23:34 Sen{DM} A bit of spidersilk gets stuck to your pant leg
  34. 23:35 Sen{DM} It shuffles back slightly so that it is once again facing you head on
  35. 23:35 Sen{DM} Your turn
  36. 23:36 aquaticApathy I look down at the webbing caught on my pant leg and just grimace. That's gross. The spider's gross. This place without a fucking ocean is gross. I right myself and make a quick jab with my sword, trying to inflict more wounds on the over sized arachnid.
  37. 23:37 Sen{DM} Roll to hit
  38. 23:37 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  39. 23:37 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 17 <Total: 17(+2) = 19>
  40. 23:37 Sen{DM} Roll damage
  41. 23:38 aquaticApathy !roll 1d8+2
  42. 23:38 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d8: 1 <Total: 1(+2) = 3>
  43. 23:39 Sen{DM} Little wounds are all you can manage, but the spider seems irritated all the same
  44. 23:39 Sen{DM} !roll 1d20+4
  45. 23:39 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d20: 1 <Total: 1(+4) = 5>
  46. 23:45 Sen{DM} The spider lunges for you, fangs glistening with ichor... and slams head-first into the ground as its forelegs give out beneath it
  47. 23:45 Sen{DM} !roll 1d6+3
  48. 23:45 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d6: 2 <Total: 2(+3) = 5>
  49. 23:46 Sen{DM} The spider sways woozily in place once it skitters back to its many many feet
  50. 23:49 aquaticApathy I'd insult the thing, or gloat, but I nearly did the same thing twenty seconds ago...so I think I'll just try and take advantage of this opportunity. I try to sever the leg at joint.
  51. 23:49 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  52. 23:49 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 3 <Total: 3(+2) = 5>
  53. 23:49 Sen{DM} Needless to say, you do not succeed in your endeavor
  54. 23:50 Sen{DM} !roll 1d20+4
  55. 23:50 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d20: 3 <Total: 3(+4) = 7>
  56. 23:50 Sen{DM} The spider sways drunkenly as it waves a leg in your direction, not even coming close to hitting you
  57. 23:52 aquaticApathy Clearly, something is not very right here. Either that, or we're both just pathetic and deserve to be culled. I try to stab my sword through one of its legs, not really caring which one it is anymore. All other attempts at being tactical have failed miserably.
  58. 23:53 Sen{DM} ((Let's do something different this time))
  59. 23:53 Sen{DM} ((Roll concentration and athletics))
  60. 23:54 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+1
  61. 23:54 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 18 <Total: 18(+1) = 19>
  62. 23:54 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  63. 23:54 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 4 <Total: 4(+2) = 6>
  64. 23:55 Sen{DM} !roll 1d8
  65. 23:55 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d8: 2 <Total: 2>
  66. 23:56 Sen{DM} You thrust your blade into a joint on the second-foremost right leg, but you can't quite sever the limb
  67. 23:56 aquaticApathy Hey, I'll take it.
  68. 23:57 Sen{DM} Nonetheless, the spider screams and skitters away, curling the damaged leg up and out of the way
  69. 23:57 Sen{DM} !roll 1d20+4
  70. 23:57 GameServ Sen{DM} rolled 1d20: 1 <Total: 1(+4) = 5>
  71. 23:57 Sen{DM} It doesn't even try to attack you this time
  72. 23:58 aquaticApathy Well, that's too bad for it, because mercy is not exactly the smartest thing to show in a fight to the death. Stupid Spider. I rush up to it, trying to slide underneath it and drag my sword along its underside as I do so.
  73. 23:59 Sen{DM} Roll to hit
  74. 23:59 Sen{DM} Also roll your choice of athletics or acrobatics
  75. 00:00 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  76. 00:00 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 20 <Total: 20(+2) = 22>
  77. 00:00 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  78. 00:00 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 20 <Total: 20(+2) = 22>
  79. 00:04 Sen{DM} With an acrobatic fucking pirouette that slides into a flawless youth roll, you slice the spider's belly wide open
  80. 00:05 Sen{DM} Its blood and guts spill out onto the ground with a sickening splash
  81. 00:06 Sen{DM} The spider spasms once, twice, and then falls twitching to the ground without a sound
  82. 00:07 Sen{DM} Gain 50 XP
  83. 00:07 aquaticApathy I slowly get to my feet, and brush myself off. Well, aside from a couple bouts of retardation, that wasn't so bad. I head over to the spider and slice at the fangs, trying to remove one or two for that insolent little mouse.
  84. 00:07 aquaticApathy After silently celebrating the significant accomplishment and reveling in the 'experience' of course.
  85. 00:09 Sen{DM} You gain LESSER SPIDER FANG x2
  86. 00:13 aquaticApathy Before I head back I want to explore up ahead a bit more, make sure I know I'm where I'm supposed to be.
  87. 00:17 Sen{DM} The path ahead grows a bit brighter as the glow worms begin to make their appearance once again
  88. 00:19 aquaticApathy That's a good sign. I decide to take the chance and head up the path a bit more
  89. 00:19 Sen{DM} In the distance you can see what appear to be houses on some of the higher branches of the trees ahead
  90. 00:21 Sen{DM} You're suddenly reminded of the fact that Moe's boss will pay you in whatever currency this place peddles if you bring back some of the spider parts besides the fangs
  91. 00:28 aquaticApathy Good enough for me, I know there's another frustrating cluster of mice living nearby. I head back towards the spider corpse.
  92. 00:29 Sen{DM} It's still twitching a bit, but hasn't made any other significant movements
  93. 00:30 aquaticApathy I begin looking over it for salvageable parts...I don't really know what they want from this thing.
  94. 00:31 Sen{DM} The half-severed leg dangles enticingly
  95. 00:32 Sen{DM} Also roll insight
  96. 00:32 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+1
  97. 00:32 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 13 <Total: 13(+1) = 14>
  98. 00:32 aquaticApathy I guess the leg will do...?
  99. 00:33 Sen{DM} The bulk of the space taken up by the spider is mostly in its legs; taking each part of it on its own, the spider's body is actually relatively small
  100. 00:34 Sen{DM} You could probably captchalogue some parts if you managed to seperate them somehow
  101. 00:35 aquaticApathy I look at my sword and then look at the body parts. I wonder, I just, am really trying to fathom here, how the fuck I'm going to separate them.
  102. 00:35 aquaticApathy I attempt to separate them.
  103. 00:36 Sen{DM} Roll strength
  104. 00:38 aquaticApathy !roll 1d20+2
  105. 00:38 GameServ aquaticApathy rolled 1d20: 2 <Total: 2(+2) = 4>
  106. 00:39 Sen{DM} Evidentally your arms are more sore from the fight than you first realized; you cannot cut the spider's body apart
  107. 00:40 aquaticApathy Well, I'm not desperate enough to saw through it...because that would take too long and is probably a waste of time.
  108. 00:42 aquaticApathy What exactly are my options here?
  109. 00:43 Sen{DM} Since you've elected not to cut apart the spider, you can either go forward to the other town, back to the town you just came from or head into the forest
  110. 00:45 aquaticApathy Fuck the forest. I'm going to shove these fangs right in Moe's face, get my stuff, and figure out just what the fuck is going on.
  111. 00:47 Sen{DM} The trek back to the village is silent; not even the creatures you spotted before are lurking about now
  112. 00:47 aquaticApathy They might've seen the fight and decided it was a bad idea to keep messing with me.
  113. 00:47 aquaticApathy Good on their part. They're learning, which probably won't bode well for me in the future.
  114. 00:51 Sen{DM} ==>
  115. 01:02 aquaticApathy I continue heading towards the village until I can see the gate, and begin the final leg of my little heroic outing, time to get back to the mouse.
  116. 01:04 Sen{DM} The village is in full swing; as you pass through, the mouse people around you start to whisper and stare at your disheveled and slightly bloody appearance
  117. 01:05 Sen{DM} The parting crowds make it easy to reach Moe's booth
  118. 01:06 aquaticApathy Guess they finally know to respect a fucking highblood when they see one.
  119. 01:09 aquaticApathy I continue at my pace to Moe, which, isn't all that fast. Fighting a giant spider really takes it out of you.
  120. 01:10 Sen{DM} Moe is hawking his wares, at first oblivious to your approach. Once he does see you, he does a double take and then smirks
  121. 01:10 Sen{DM} "Hey there pal, how'd the spider exterminating go?"
  122. 01:11 aquaticApathy "Hey 'buddy'. Went just fine." I take the spider fangs out of my sylladex and toss them onto the counter.
  123. 01:11 Sen{DM} His eyes grow very wide
  124. 01:12 Sen{DM} "Holy shit, you actually did it."
  125. 01:12 Sen{DM} "I'll be damned."
  126. 01:12 aquaticApathy I give him a fanged, shit eating grin, "I said I would."
  127. 01:13 Sen{DM} Moe looks at you with a dumbfounded look of growing respect
  128. 01:14 Sen{DM} "You sure did, bud."
  129. 01:14 Sen{DM} "Let's, uh, let's go show this to my boss, yeah?"
  130. 01:14 Sen{DM} Without waiting for an answer, Moe pulls down a curtain on his booth and steps out of it, fangs in hand
  131. 01:14 Sen{DM} "Follow me."
  132. 01:15 Sen{DM} == END ==
