Aiteu:
Aiteu has a notebook ready and starts transcribing, "Oh, before any of this, please introduce yourself!"\

"Yeah, 'member.' Putting it lightly there." She returns Aiteu's gaze, but is clearly anxious about getting outta there, not just for Hohari's sake

"Fine fine, I'll do this later, just a name and then we'll get going."

Guiying:
He tells you his name, which is indeed Guiying, and that he's a sort of merchant in this area, though he travels sometimes as well

"No, this is the first time I've ever seen it." She reaches out her hand and offers to exmaine the goop, she spreads her finges apart, it's like honey, "What the fuck is this shit?"

Guiying:
He's a decent insect, deft with his hands and able to treat some of your minor injuries even while walking, flitting around you, more reminiscent of a scurrying fashion designer taking measurements than someone doing medical work, but there's no doubt that he's effective.

Veil:
Veil shrugs and is mystified by the goop, "I have no idea."

From his perspective, it seem like Zeke is doubled over, looking up at an unfamiliar man in a fedora and open, back-alley suit jacket, standing atop the bridge, tapping his foot as he speaks, "Ya shoulda known this. Knew ya guys weren't on the level... Think I'm a dunderhead?" The man spins his cane around, "Ya might think you're the bee's knees, but lemme tell ya, no god's gonna make a palooka like yer sorry ass tough 'nuff to tangle with someone a' real caliber." You straighten up, watching the man's cane as it swirls through the air, tapping the bridge every now and then, and retort, "Oh, yeah? Tough talk for a cheating bastard! But REALLY, you have to do this NOW? Do you know what kinda shit's going down? Cut me a break!" The glad-ragged man extends his cane and jumps back, "Well yeah. I gotta protect the missus...and that includes the little tyke you're after."

"Hmm, Sir Zeke has been apprehended at this moment. Some... old guy just beat him up!"

On the other end of things, it is eerily calm here for a nature preserve. Not even the birds are chirping. Aiteu smells something out of place - a harshly bitter odor, emanating from the edge of the forest by the bridge.

Reilina:

The darkness doesn't do anything when you touch it, but you hear a "Whahuh?!" from inside when you do. If you poke your head in, you can't see anything for the most part, but there are yellow flashes of light every now and again

"Yo, can you help me up into the that tall ass tree over there?" She points off to the tree.

Aiteu:
"Not that I know of, but we should probably help out with the pincer. Just take caution!"

The treesh may not be angry at you, but it looksh like the BRIDGE might be. There's a faint shimmer on the wood, and the treeline behind it. The water on the sides bubbles occasionally.

"...Beneath?" Aiteu looks over the edge and tries to try to identify what just quickly passed by, "Surely the opposite of a good sign."
Thrice:
Veil doesn't see much in the darkness, but the bright flashes are WAAAAAY brighter with nightvision on, almost painfully so. Occasionally, the light reflects off of something shiny, maybe metal.
Thrice:
From what flashed by, it looked quite large - and it's not the only thing int here, for sure. Whatever is out of place on the bridge itself occasionally shimmies back and forth.

Veil:
"Grah!" Veil distances herself from the scope, "There's definitely some shit going on in there Captain."
Thrice:
Reil can hear sparking noises and the THUNK-ing sound of metal on wood, but not much in the way of voice...

Veil:
"You know, since you took a shot with your stupid rock, I'm going to take a shot too." She pops a mag into her rifle and starts trying to find a pattern in the flashing lights.
You whisper to Agi: But she can FEEL a voice, in her head. She's used to that by now. It seems to find its way in by osmosis, leaking through the darkness. "What kinda sap jus' barges on in to a man's humble abode?!"

After a full 45 minutes of Aiteu and co. standing on the bridge staring blissfully, the bridge has become impatient. It folds in on itsel--wait, no, that's some kind of cloak someone's tossing off, "I'M SORRY BOSS THEY'RE REALLY FUCKING SLOW I'M GOIN' TO TOWN ON THEY ASSES!" A huge, collective groan issues from both the forest and other portions of the bridge. The hoax has been revealed, as figures flood in from the trees, and take their positions on the bridge ahead of you. One man hangs back, wrapped in a cloak of red and black, "Agh...always foiling our ambushes. Why did I bring you along? If the Chitin can do one thing, it's surprise tactics. Should have left it to them."

Aiteu:
"About time!" She holds up her hand and waves to the trees, "Wait, hello?"
