The swirling blood congeals in its totality, that which once pooled on the floor now entirely absorbed into the figure before you. Though the figure itself is corporeal, a dark ethereal aura surrounds it, behaving not unlike fire.

With barely a flick of a wrist, the ethereal darkness launches forward, engulfing the floating magical light sources, and suffocating them in a matter of seconds. Now, the only source of light is that which the shaman holds high on his staff.
In the darkness, the creature is both youthful and beautiful, and bestial all at once.

Strands of dark mist move forward like specters, connecting the monstrosity to Sigvald. For several seconds, the sergeant begins to physically waste away, turning pale as a sudden surge of fatigue overcomes him.

Sigvald gasps, as he feels the icy tendrils of the vampires foul magic penetrate his mortal armor and feels a wave of fatigue overcome him. However, his fiery faith and experience with dealing with these monstrosities help himself in steeling his will. "It will take more than that you cunt!" He yells out defiantly.

Both Ethar and Adel channel magic as Adel is able to recast his march lights to help realuminate the area while Ethar begins channeling magic.

The shaking Doctor pulls out his bow. His fear will not allow him to focus nor take a shot.

Fenrick wastes no time knocking and loosing at the fell beast. Dealing with a creature from nightmares rather than the usual sort Fenrick is sure to use one of the special arrows he bought from a traveling merchant a while back. The man claimed they were of Elfish origin and packed a punch. Considering the amazing precision the arrow had and evident damage it caused, it looks like his investment was worth the coin.

Grismund shoulders past Tiechmann and Sergeant Dankmar, rushing the abomination, and swinging hard with his long-hafted hammer. Off-balance from the maneuver his swing goes wide and the grizzled knight of Ulric curses loudly.
Sigvald Dankmar — Yesterday at 11:24 PM
Sigvald charged forward, letting out a warcry involving something about blasted vampires and Ulric. And overextends himself. Perhaps due to the lighting, or perhaps due to the cursed vampire's agility the mercenary sergeant steps into a slight depression and rolls his ankle. He howls in pain and frustration as his impaling strike misses.

Following Grismund and the mercenary, Frost bounds past them and closes with the creature, causing a bloody gash in the vampire's hide with it's large claws.

Sarazin moves to get a clear shot and aims his handgun.

The blood-lust in the creature's eyes is sated yet again as it reaches out, tendrils stealing Sigvald's life force. As it does so, to your horror, all apparent gains are reversed - its form returns to its complete, unscathed form. Even the elven arrow on its thigh is pushed out and to the ground by its healing muscle fibers.

Ethar continues to channel magic as his apprentice attempts to move the marsh lights towards the area with the creature.

Fenrick desperately pounds another arrow into the beast, horrified that it healed itself.

Ehmann is finally able to collect his nerves and takes aim at the creature.

Grismund regains his footing and slams his hammer into the creature several times in quick sucession, battering the abomination and causing it's corrupted blood to seep from it's wounds. "DIE....VAMPIRE......BITCH!"

Sarazin finally takes his aimed shot and shoots the creature in the leg.

Yet again, using its unnatural abilities, the creature leaches Sigvald's life energy. The sergeant is now anemic, pallid, with bags forming under his eyes.

"You are now part of me, sergeant. There is enough of your blood in my form, for us to almost be a relation," the monster taunts the mercenary.

The man shivers in disgust. "Ulric preserve me, don't like that."
Ethar Gabaris — Today at 12:19 AM
Ethar uses his bolt spell and launches a magic missile that forms into a wooden spike that hits the creature while Adel is unable to move his marsh lights still.

Ehmann takes a shot at the monstrous creature and hits it in the body.
Sol — Today at 12:39 AM
Grismund is enraged at the creature healing itself and undoing his holy work. Renewed by Ulric's wrath he continues to trade blows with abomination, monstrous claws threatening to push the knight back. During the brutal exchange the grizzled knight takes a backhanded swipe across his helm, causing the metal to dent in and cut his face; adding to the myriad scars already present.
Sigvald Dankmar — Today at 12:43 AM
Sigvald tries to continue the melee with his own attack, swinging his halberd down and grunting in disappointment as the swing is blocked by the vampire's manicured talons. And as it ripostes he's able to bring his haft up and block it. "Fucking die already!"

"Soon you will know peace. Soon, my thrall."
The magical tendrils continue to sap the sergeant, his form is now sickly, skin beginning to sag and wrinkle.
Sigvald Dankmar — Today at 12:50 AM
"Piss off. I've killed your kind before, you cunt." He says as he grits his teeth and finally feels fatigue start to set in.

Attempting to summons one of is spell, he drops his coat as he begins chanting but in the moment as he notices Adel still having's trouble manipulating his light, he loose concentration on the spell and the winds of magic leave his staff from what he had built up.

Ehmann takes aim once again.

Fenrick does his best to push away the fear as he reaches for another arrow from his dwindling quiver. "Why won't this fucking thing die?" he yells out as he sends another elven arrow into the things leg, hoping to slow it down.

"Unholy...vigour.......Mister....Baide..." The knight continues to trade blows with vampire, his surgery still causing slower than normal speech from the templar sergeant.

Yet again Sergeant Dankmar attempts to swing his halberd and is blocked by the smug vampires taloned hand. And the mercenary fends off the riposte with a twist of the shoulder, narrowly avoiding the return strike.

Sarazin fires a shot into the right leg of the creature.

The beast, now desperate, wounded, and fierce, swipes away the white wolf's incoming attack, creating a nasty open bleeding wound with its claws as white fur is ripped and shredded. The blood loss is astoundingly fast, and the loyal companion is unable to maintain its consciousness.
As its wounds begin to seal up again, a roaring echoes through the mineshaft, a companion knight charges in full swing, interrupting the unnatural healing with a blow to the head. The vampire stumbles, losing its footing, and breaks its fall with an arm stretched back to catch its weight. It hisses, losing some of its human features, its wounds unable to seal.

Fenrick grabs the last elven arrow from his quiver with a shaking hand, he mutters a quick prayer before letting loose at the horror. His arrow flies true and strikes the pale thing in it's open maw.

Looking to Adel, Ethar gives a encouraging nod and then Adel is able to move his marsh light forward to help light up more of the area as Ethar begin to re-channel his magic

The elven craftsmanship proves its value, the arrow piercing almost entirely through. The arrowhead and shaft now visibly protruding from the back of its rapidly decaying skull. In a matter of seconds, its flesh withers away, aging decades with every second.

Ehmann takes a large breath and lets out a long sigh of relief.

All that remains is loose, rotten, and weathered flesh, coating ancient bone.
At that very moment, the mine shaft shifts before your very eyes.

Sarazin let's out a sigh of relief and reloads his handgun.
"Sarge you okay?"

"That..." but Fenrick does not finish the thought, instead slowly taking a seat and trying to stop his body from trembling.

No longer is the narrow passage an eerie abandoned gauntlet. Instead, a well-lit hallway replaces it, several yards in front of you, a foyer beautifully sculpted out of stone, with ancient, rusting iron handles. Paintings old and mostly tattered adorn the walls, and the glow of a fireplace paint a very different picture of your surroundings.

Sigvald leans heavily on the haft of his halberd while looking down at the decaying vampire.
The sergeant whistles back at his men. "Get a fire going! We need to dispose this....vermin."

After gaining his composure, Fenrick walks to the decaying corpse. He does his best to not look to closely at the thing as he quickly recovers the elven arrows, all surprisingly unscathed.

Ehmann cautiously approaches the animal and tries to patch her wounds with Ethar the Shaman.
Benedeit Sarazin — Today at 1:36 AM
Sarazin comes over to Sigvald and to help his Sergeant and shifts prepare to burn the vampire corpse, "Yes Sergeant."

"The mine? But that's impossible," Teichmann says to himself, observing the newly-revealed surroundings.
"No, wait!" Teichmann walks in front of the corpse.

As he helps with patching up the wolf makeing great progress this helping healing the creature, he then takes in the area they find themselves in.

"Teichmann?"

"I believe this is the work of some sort of Ulgu magic."

After Ehmann patches up the Wolf, he hears Lord Tiechmann's request and hurries over to investigate.

"Or also know as the Grey Winds and the Lore of Shadows in the common tongue."

"Sorcery," one of the knights mutters in disgust.

"There's signs of fractures on the bones and some of them are healed? From injuries from long along. Nothing healed on the left arm though... ahh, I am not sure what caused it."

"I see. No matter, Doktor. This specimen may be disposed of," he says nodding to the men waiting.

"From what I have heard, there are spells that can disguise and distort reality in front of even the most observant man."

Ehmann points at the healed fractures "There's two on the right wrist and one on the ribs."

"I'd call myself an observant man but I ain't seen anything but a mine just then." Fenrick says looking around bewildered.

Ehmann lost in thought for a moment and rabbling to himself. He hears Tiechmann's words and says "At once, mi Lord."

Ehmann prepares his tent and gets his triage ready around the wolf.
Ehmann treats Sigvald's injuries using healing poultice and fresh bandages.
"Sergeant Sigvald, I will need you see me daily for your torn leg muscle injury. While nearly impossible, especially in our situation, try to stay off the leg."
