  1. [09:55:24] Today was the day.
  2.
  3. It's been a while since he resumed his pursue of other Depraved Arts, and all while he was growing in experience with Riftmancy, he wished to try himself out in Necromancy. The fabled holy Art of Azrael himself, obviously it held much potential for Saulot; if he could possibly acknowledge it, countless new roads would sprout before him, all waiting to be used. So many opportunities.
  4.
  5. As for which place to pick for such dark practice? You know, Wychwood forest was actually a good idea. There were many living creatures in there, and moreover the place had Outlaws lingering about... perhaps he could actually find one, and oh boy, that'd make him an awesome doll for practice. A full body of an actual human, or well, possibly sub-human being - that's something you don't get your hands on often.
  6.
  7. But if not, that's okay too. According to Necromantic theory, all living creatures have souls, and that's actually the truth. As a practicioner of Riftmancy, all too often he could see countless essences of spirits within other realms whenever he'd tear the Lifestream apart, capable of seeing what it's truly like.
  8. ________________
  9.
  10. The crimson mantled individual was making his way through the forest in search of something to practice upon. His eyes were settled upon trees, assuming that's where Outalws would be hiding if any of them were around.
  11.
  12. Though, he checked up on possibly catching any lesser critter too.
  13. (Saulot Vykos)
  14.
  15. [10:10:46] Samiel had no other place he could think of to go, so he resumed his dwelling in the wood, he'd just have to be careful not to run into a demon like Lach again. Sitting by the pond in the southeast, he began to think of that town he had visited through the caverns. Could that have been a safer place? He didn't know for sure although it seemed there was plenty of normal humans there. There was always depraved or evil ones hiding in the shadows everywhere, so it didn't really matter where one was, he thought.
  16.
  17. Although, he stopped this thought process and began to focus, the winds around him beginning to stir and the leaves on the nearby trees beginning to rustle. The wind got a bit stronger and stronger gradually until he now had a visible, dense wind aura around him. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes for a brief moment, he seemed to be able to hold the wind aura when he opened them again. He took a few steps backward from the water as he began to focus on a point right above the water.
  18.
  19. Taking more deep breaths, he put his palm forward to pur more focus and mana upon the focus point. The water seemed to stir as the wind above it seemed to turn dense and visible to the naked eye. The wind began twisting and spinning until a small twister formed above the water and began stirring the water below it to look like a whirpool as well. Samiel then took a deep sigh as the twister faded and the water looked calm again. It seemed he was getting better at controlling his wind magic, but this was not good enough for him. He had to get strong enough to defeat the demon who inscribed a rune on his chest so brutally. Although the Rune was not visible to other tthrough his shirt, he himself knew it was there and it enraged him.
  20.
  21. As he was thinking about this, he saw a man who looked a few years older than him, although they were around the same height. The guy didn't look too threatening to him, but he would seem to try to not look this man in the eyes as he spoke, as he knew in the animal world, eye contact was considered a challenge. "Hello stranger, what might you be doing in a place like this?" He asked as he now seemed to focus again, his wind aura still flowing around him.
  22. (Samiel)
  23. [10:21:00] Saulot was determined to perform the Art of Necromancy today after all, even if interrupted or disrupted in the middle of it. The red mantled figure paced around the forest in hopes to find a critter to practice upon, as it seemed that there were no Outlaws - as much as he was Depraved Arts practicioner, he wasn't necessarily fully evil, and wouldn't go out of his way to slay someone, no.
  24.
  25. But meeting such strangers as Samiel was a risk; he overheard his voice in the distance and arched a brow to that, prompting Saulot to stop in his tracks for now. It wouldn't take long, however, for Saulot to simply throw the bolt of lightning upon the critter in the distance - a hare, that is, that happened to be unfortunate victim for Saulot's practice. Who cares about those, anyway? Those pests breed faster than probably anything out there.
  26.
  27. "Hunting and practising. Least you do not hold anything against the practice of Forbidden Arts, I'd suggest to leave."
  28.
  29. For as long as Samiel would not obscure Saulot in his practice, however, he had nothing to worry about.
  30. ____________________
  31.
  32. The crimson mantled figure paced towards the dead body, picking up a hare by his long ears. He elevated it and carried it over to the side of the lake, casually settling it down before himself and making himself comfortable in a sitting position upon the ground. This would take some time.
  33.
  34. Obviously, the animal was already dead. Saulot was making preparations for a lengthy, yet simple ritual of Necromancy. He couldn't just ressurect someone like a powerful magi right away anyway, and you gotta start off somewhere, right?
  35.
  36. A wary glance was cast towards Samiel, nonetheless, observing his reaction. Was he going to freak out, act aggressively, or simply not care?
  37. (Saulot Vykos)
  38. [10:34:40] Samiel didn't really look upon the stranger until they said something about the Forbidden arts. He slowly looked over as the stranger zapped a hare with lightning and picked the body up. He didn't know that killing rabbits was forbidden if that's what the guy was talking about, Samiel himself killed rabbits and used them as a food source. The stranger to him, Saulot now sat by the lake as well as Samiel only now looked at him every now and again while standing by the lake and seemingly meditating.
  39.
  40. Standing while meditating was probably not a very practiced thing in Valmasia, although his wind aura made him feel lighter, so Samiel wasn't really bothered by standing while he did this. Samiel's thought about what forbidden arts were was corrected as the man seemed to make preparations for a ritual of some sort. Samiel chuckled a bit, thinking he was a bit silly for thinking killing rabbits were forbidden to kill. It seemed the man was speaking of a dark art of some sort when he said forbidden arts, although Samiel didn't seem to do much upon seeing his preparations for this ritual, as he didn't even know what Forbidden arts even were.
  41.
  42. Samiel himself was developing his magic anyway, he didn't have much time for consorting with others, although he would look curiously over to the stranger every now and again to see what he was doing. "You probably don't care much, but my name is Samiel." He remarked while looking out towards the water, perhaps this guy could be a potential friend since Samiel couldn't do much as to protecting himself from Giant demons. He wanted to change that fact though, his wind aura getting a bit more intense as he thought again about how the yokai brutally cut and dug into him.
  43. (Samiel)
  44. [10:44:03] Good, it's best that if he showed no significant reaction rather than being hostile or suspicious of Saulot's Arts - but soon, he realized why. The young man was simply ignorant of any Forbidden Arts and didn't know much. Although, if he did not know any of these, it was a clear testimony that he's still new to the world of magics and thus posed no real threat; Saulot was experienced magi with lot of knowledge behind his shoulders, so should the danger arise, he'd easily handle it.
  45.
  46. "The name is Saulot."
  47.
  48. He responded so, but more out of common courtesy than paying much attention. Saulot came here to practice and study further the Art of Necromancy, and wouldn't pay attention to the chatter as for now.
  49. ________________________
  50.
  51. The gruesome ritual was taking it's beginning.
  52.
  53. With his experience in Riftmancy, it would be easier for Saulot to acknowledge how to tear up the Lifestream to pull the soul of the hare back into it's vessel. All he had to do is to tear Lifestream, and then use the physical body as a link for it... that sounded easy in theory, but would prove to be rather challenging in reality.
  54.
  55. Well, Riftmancy was revolving around cognitive technique due to it's precision and detail, and considering that attaching soul back to the vessel is a rather delicate task, Saulot had assumed that cognitive technique would be the best route here. If anything, he acknowledged another technique back in the past, the one that allowed him to use Mixed Casting - using Symbolic Magic first to draw upon large mana pool, and then use Cognitive Magic, to perform the Art itself.
  56.
  57. His hands were laid upon the body of the rabbit, and he pulled a small pocket knife from along his garments as well; a short, yet deep incision was made upon it's carcass, and Saulot sank his fingertips into the hare's blood for the better connection to physical link. It was gross, and he was almost reaching to the hare's guts, but that's what helped Saulot for his first-time Necromancy as focus.
  58.
  59. A chilling wind howled.
  60. (Saulot Vykos)
  61.
  62. [11:00:16] Samiel was now multitasking a bit as he was focusing upon his aura, also having a bit of a constant stare upon what Saulot was doing. Not seeming very phased as the man cut into the rabbit and reached his fingers into it, Samiel only found it a bit weird. "What is it that you're doing that's so forbidden?" Samiel asked, "I don't find touching a rabbit's guts very forbidden." Also remarking this as he now wanted to do some of his own arts for practice. He took a step onto the water as he would seem to do the opposite of one would think he would do.
  63.
  64. Instead of sinking into the water, the water seemed to only slightly hug his feet as he was now walking on top of the water. He got to near the center of the water at the southern end so he was still relatively close to Saulot. He began focusing as his wind aura stirred the water around him, getting a bit more intense as the water below him began to form into a small whirlpool. Winds now stirrred around him more as he began to rise up into the air. Soon, it seemed he was riding upon a small twister as he practiced his magic arts.
  65.
  66. He held this position for as long as he could as he now faced toward the man who was preparing the ritual of sorts. "What's your name?" Samiel simply asked as he mainly kept focus on his magic, attempting to hold this small twister he was riding upon as long as he could.
  67. (Samiel)
  68. [11:07:05] Saulot Vykos: (Just as a note, I'm going to be fluffing it for a Chance of Injury., and thus /roll. This is a message for logs)
  69. [11:07:05] Saulot Vykos: (1-3 = hand injury, resulting in -5 vit, and 4-6 = nothing happens)
  70. [11:07:56] Samiel: [ah okay]
  71. [11:11:21] Oh, but Samiel was about to see what was so odd about Saulot's Art.
  72.
  73. Whilst his hand remained upon the flesh of the hare, the other stretched out ahead of him, as if reaching out somewhere; the air began to scorch infront of Saulot, bending the shape of a circle, much akin to a portal - whereas in fact, Saulot was tearing the Lifestream itself apart. How could he do that just like that?
  74.
  75. Saulot already had experience in Riftmancy, and it revolves all around tearing the Lifestream for one's purposes. The colors around crimsom mantled visage turned grey, with the place where he reached out turning sickly blue, whilst he was bending and contorting the Lifestream to his will. The souls of the dead that were carried within Lifestream were disturbed, and in their anger, they were trying to bite back at Saulot - a common backlash of attempting to use Necromancy.
  76.
  77. ________________________
  78.
  79.
  80. The face of the man was scrunching in pain due to the dead biting back at the hand of unskilled Necromancer with their attempts to disrupt the ritual; his breath quickens, clearly in pain from the experience.
  81.
  82. But he pushes it through. The sickly blue hue in the air seems to have something dragged out of it. The Lifestream refuses to give it up, but eventually Saulot escorts it out from there despite the struggle, and perhaps with a consequence as well.
  83.
  84. The soul of this deceased hare.
  85.
  86. The body acted as a physical link to help Saulot locate the soul within the flow of the Lifestream. Gladly, he's positioned in the same place where the hare died, making the search much easier as well.
  87.
  88. _____________________
  89.
  90. But he does not respond to Samiel's request for a name. He already said that his name is Saulot, and if he did not hear it earlier, well... the aspiring necromancer isn't really in the state to talk right now.
  91. (Saulot Vykos)
  92.
  93. SAULOT VYKOS ROLLED A DICE AND IT LANDED ON: 5
  94.
  95. [11:31:50] Samiel thought about it, and he heard the man say something under his winds before, something having to do with the word Saulot. He knew not what this word meant then he facepalmed at his own stupidity. Saulot was this guy's name and he had just asked for it yet again, He nearly lost focus as his twister began to get a bit wild due to his loss of focus, but he managed to recover it and keep floating upon the small twister. He now kept his look upon the man, not saying a word as he was still keeping steady the twister under his feet. He began to feel an extreme disturbance in the air as his wind even seemed to feel a bit weird as he was controlling it.
  96.
  97. This was the feeling of the lifestream being torn at, although Samiel knew nothing about anything like that, he had lived in an isolated village of mostly normal humans after all. Although this did make him feel slightly off as Saulot was reaching into the lifestream and tearing at it, although Samiel didn't know exactly what he was doing. Samiel may have been a spiteful young man, although he did show some concern as the man seemed to experience a backlash of some sort while he did this. Samiel let his twister slowly die down as he now walked on the water once again and walked off the pond next to the man. "You okay?" Samiel asked as he still stayed a few meters awawy from the man, not knowing if what he was doing was dangerous or not.
  98. (Samiel)
  99.
  100. [11:43:47] It was a vile, dark, gut wretching ritual performed before Samiel's eyes. The air began feeling colder as the souls of dead were exposed to material world through torn Lifestream, all of it done just to pull the soul of a single rabbit. The environment itself lost it's colors around Saulot - once a blooming grass and flowers around him, now withered and dry. Everything felt as if it turned grim and grey.
  101.
  102. The amounts of Depravity rolling off was disturbing. The Lifestream was literally screamingin pain of being torn apart during Saulot's ritual, it was that horrific. Necromancy is very known for it's excessive Depravity, for the sheer fact that it bends the very law of the universe - the dead walk the earth once more.
  103.
  104. But the scream of Lifestream was hushed, much akin to how murderers silence their victims. Of course, the Depravity was still in the air in disturbing amounts... but at least the horrible scream was silenced, and the grey colors around Saulot grew quiet.
  105. __________________________
  106.
  107. He had a pained expression about him, but he was otherwise fine; his hand was slightly burned as result of backlash for tearing the Lifestream, but he sustained no injury. It was his first time ressurecting anything at all, and the lack of experience almost cost him his hand. Luckily, that was not the case.
  108.
  109. But the ritual was not over. The soul was withdrawn from the Lifestream, of coures, but now he had to figure out how exactly to attach it back to the vessel - uneasy task for sure, but that was something he was ready to take on. His eyebrows furrowed due to the feeling of pain, but Saulot continued regardless.
  110.
  111. Depravity was seeping in rich numbers still; if Samiel dared approach, he could feel that disturbing feeling echoing from within. Something is wrong, something is out of shape, and Saulot was the reason for it.
  112. ___________________________
  113.
  114. Though, as for what Saulot was doing? He carried on his ritual. Usually mannered, he'd respond to Samiel's inquiry about his own being, and moreso appreciated concern - but due to lack of experience, he could not afford to break his focus, and Saulot remained quiet.
  115.
  116. Ressurecting the animal was the only thing he was seeing infront of his eyes right now.
  117. (Saulot Vykos)
  118.
  119. [12:11:56] Samiel raised a brow as the plantlife around them seemed to lose color, withering and dying as the screaming of the lifestream didn't seem to phase him much. He backed away a few more meters, not knowing what this would do to him as he tried to stay in the green area of the plantlife around him. As Saulot then seemed to draw out a slightly burned hand, he seemed okay for the most part as Samiel would now begin to focus on his own training. He could tell something was wrong here though, very wrong as the Necromancer in training drew out the soul of the rabbit. Samiel didn't know exactly what was happening here, although he saw that the man could materialize lightning at his whim, so there was probably not much he could do to stop this.
  120.
  121. He now got back to his own training, thinking of some ways to add some extra strain to his wind and water magic training as he stepped back to his previous spot in the water. This time, water seemed to flow around his being like tendrils as he now tried to keep the water around his being, forming a twister that he floated upon once again. The twister seemed to attempt at sucking his water aura in as he focused on and controlled his mana. Feeling slightly strained upon keeping his water aura around his being, this was just the exercize he needed to expand his mana pool.
  122.
  123. Barely now seeming to pay attention to Saulot, he needed to put most of his focus on his twister and aura, breathing deeply as the winds now seemed to whisper with his wrath he felt toward the demons. He began to think again of the kaor who carved into him as he saw a lesser yokai standing at the other side of the water from Saulot, seemingly awaiting Samiel to get out from the near the center of the water. "Die, demon." Samiel simply remarked as his twister got stronger and seemed to pull the Lesser yokai toward the twister, dragging it through the water and ripping it to pieces as soon as it touched the tornado that now wymbolized Samiel's wrath toward the demons.
  124.
  125. The twister spat out the yokai bits right outside the pond onto land as Samiel got a bit of a sense of satisfaction out of this, although his wrath toward Lach did not feel sated at all. He now idly stared at Saulot from the midst of his twister, waiting for him to be finished with his ritual. Perhaps Samiel would ask him of a spar or something, although he was hesitant about this as the magi seemed pretty good at what he did, which was striking things down with lightning and attempting at bringing them back to life, in the eyes of Samiel.
  126. (Samiel)
  127. [12:25:36] Not even the Lifestream itself could stop Saulot before achieving his task. Although still young, Saulot possessed remarkable skill at willworking, capable of shaping the world to his whim - and that's what caused his Depravity. To bend and contort the very laws of the universe just because one wishes for it to happen is utmostly selfish and powerhungry, cursing one to bear the mark of Depravity, least they wish to conceal it.
  128.
  129. The soul was driven out from the Lifestream, and now, with the usage of cogntiive technique, Saulot was thoroughly directing it's path back to the vessel, to that body of the rabbit; the body was still fresh, and it could be easier to arise such undead, considering the vital signs had went to decline all too recent. But it was not an easy task, regardless - willworking the soul's path step by step, he carefully directed it to the direction of vessel.
  130.
  131. The blue, sickly hue representing the soul itself and mana manifestation around it was flying back to the body of the rabbit. Although his other hand was mildly injured and the pain was haunting his body, Saulot was not paying much attention to it, nor to anything else around him. A drop of sweat rolled by the side of his head, a clear testimony of the efforts he brings together to carefully guide the soul back to it's vessel.
  132. __________________________
  133.
  134. At last, the unliving was lbeing forged. With the soul getting attached back to it's body, he was connecting the soul back upon the mana circuits of the body, a necessary process in order to make sure that the soul could take manipuatlion of the body - without it, soul would only reside inside of the body, much like... intruder, doomed to wait until the corpse withers and rots away to release the soul once more; though such hope would be false, as undead to not die this way.
  135.
  136. The rabbit moved about awkwardly. With it's feet twitching and guts exposed, it stood up slowly and looked around in confusion; the experience was terrifying to watch, as the animal covered in blood and gore was getting back to life.
  137.
  138. Horrendous air of Depravity was flown around Saulot. It was slowly getting suppressed, but such efforts seemed to pale in comparison to sheer amounts of it, and would certainly take a while. As for rabbit? Now it's doomed to be Depraved, perhaps being slain by local Yokai once more to put it out of it's misery.
  139.
  140. At last, he spared a glance towards Samiel. He was still here, not intimidated by exposure to Necromancy?
  141. (Saulot Vykos)
  142. [12:41:48] Samiel continued with having his water aura flow around him although he felt his mana pool growing shallow by how long he had kept it there. His twister slowly faded as his water aura seemed to weaken and he landed on top of the water under him. almost like it was solid ground. He used what little mana he had left for now to walk back to land and lean up against tree with pink blossoms on it. His water aura now flowing back into the body of water, he was far enough from Saulot where the tree he was leaning on was still pretty beautiful, and clearly not witherede and dead like its counterparts near Saulot.
  143.
  144. Samiel looked over a bit confusedly as Saulot was still performing some type of ritual on a mere rabbit, and they had been sitting there for what seemed like hours. Soon though, the rabbit that he had been practicing on seemed to get back up, although it was dead before. Samiel found this really confusing at first, but just pieced it together in his mind as a magic that could raise the dead that the man was practicing. Samiel didn't really have any interest in magics like that, as he felt a very strange feeling that something was wrong just by being around Saulot. He guessed this was the feeling of sheer disturbance of the natural order of things and could probably affect the user negatively.
  145.
  146. Samiel thought about the rune on his chest that had dark mana filtering through his body once again, and grolwed a bit at the thought of it. Now thinking about it though, he would ask the man of a request. "Hey, I have a request for you..." He paused for a moment while he looked over to Saulot, "If I die, and I don't get the vengeance upon the demon that carved this upon my chest..." He lifted his shirt to reveal the crab shaped rune on his chest, "I give you permission to raise me for practice once you get better at that." He remarked as he now put his shirt back on, looking to zone out on the water as he paid almost no attention to the rabbit from the man raised from the dead now.
  147. (Samiel)
  148. [12:52:03] The raising was done, but what would become of this Depraved creature that is left alive after Necromancy ritual... surely, it cannot be just let go, considering that it would pollute the local Lifestream and leave a lot of trace for Necromancer's presence in here. Saulot could not leave anything after himself, and so he pulled the knife from his garments once more, simply stabbing it into the skull of a rabbit - it dropped dead once more, and the mana circuits were burned out with second death. It could not be raised again.
  149.
  150. The crimson hue was spread across dry grass on the ground, painting the scene of gore red; his hands were still smeared in blood and scorches from the Lifestream backlash, but a grin was portrayed on his face. Such feat wouldn't go unnoticed, and he knew that he's on his way in order to eventually establish himself as a Necromancer, now it was only a matter of time.
  151. _______________________________
  152.
  153. Samiel spoke once more, however. His brow was arched whilst he looked upon the younger one with his odd request - permission to raise him in case of a failure? Sure, Saulot wouldn't neglect that. Knowing that Necromancy binds the undead to Necromancer, if Samiel were to be ever raised by him, he could have his revenge after all... at cost of serving him as his Master. Good trade, actually.
  154.
  155. "Very well. You'll be raised if I ever see your fallen body."
  156.
  157. But that'd be still a while until he's capable of raising the fallen Magi. It was a formidable feat, far tougher than raising some animal.
  158.
  159. And on that note, Saulot stood up. He approached the lake fo wash his hands off the gore and blood, as it were no point to keep that on; besides, he'd rather have himself clean than dirtied by intestines of an animal.
  160. (Saulot Vykos)
  161. [13:01:26] Samiel nodded as he was told his request would be granted if the necromancer came upon his lifeless body. He took a moment to regain his mana, then thinking of exactly where to go next if he was going to go train some more. He seemed to have waterwalking and even using magic while he was walking upon the water down to a tee. He could use water and wind magic at the same time now, so there was only one thing left he could think to do. If he wanted to give this yokai a taste of its own medicine, he would have to figure out how to combine the two and make Ice magic, although he didn't really know how to go about this.
  162.
  163. For now, he would seem to make sure he had everything, then he remembered he only had the clothes on his back for the moment along with a few rabbits that were ready to cook in a sack. "Thank you, Saulot." He showed that he remembered the man's name and seemed to walk to the north, the best place he could think of for training ice magic was where Ice materialized naturally, in the frostlands.
  164. (Samiel)
  165.
  166. [13:06:33] Casually nodding to Samiel upon his answer, Saulot also gathered his garments to be leaving; the Depravity was slowly fading in the surrounding area, constantly under suppression from Saulot's side, but the dried grass and flowers remained a clear testimony of the corrupting energies floating about in the air earlier. The creature clad in Depravity, that is ressurected rabbit, was also killed off, no longer allowed to exist and put out of it's misery.
  167.
  168. "Farewell."
  169.
  170. The practicing session for Necromancy was over and Saulot had nothing else to stay here for, besides the Depraved energies could attract Outlaws, those that had sworn themselves to kill people such as Saulot; and out of times, that'd be a great shame if Saulot died now. He had gone far in Depraved Arts by now.
  171.
  172. The crimson mantled visage began to slowly disappear from Samiel's sight, fading beneath the crowns of trees that cast their shadows down on the ground.
  173. (Saulot Vykos)
