Patience, patience is very key when being TFU and a cop overall, not everything can happen straight away stuff takes time especially when In a situation like a hostage negotiation where it can take a long time and patience is very key and stuff like that is not to be rushed, especially when a life is on the line that's where patience is needed a lot and were you can realise that lethal force may not be needed. Safety is key, a very good way to keep safe is a perimeter at every shootout to make sure no one can get past at all,

Always having a partner is a good way of keeping safe as you always have a second person to help, carefully thinking about how to deal with the situation so you can get a situation sorted without anyone getting hurt  and of course making sure everyone around you is safe before you act on something.

Communication is very key and is one of the most important things in any scenario, when communicating you wanna make sure you are clearly speaking and other officers can understand you well, Another useful thing is to never speak over each other so everything said is easy to be heard unless its a priority, Make sure you only use the radio for situations that they are necessary. An example is not to use a radio when you are hungry and one of the most important things when communicating via the radio.

Playing smart is very useful in every situation you go against. You want to make sure you are doing something while keeping safe and knowing your surrounding and playing smart so you don't rush and can overall keep safe. Best thing to do is try outsmart your opponent for example throw a flash bang that isn't cooked to try get the advantage on your opponent because he thinks your going to rush when flashed. Prevention is very key, you always wanna try find a different solution to a shootout so then nobody will be risking their life, you always want to play smart when doing something to prevent it turning into a worse situation where everyone can remain safe and calm.
