Asumen: The Darker Road

Asurmen's vambraces fired constantly as he dodge and wove around the slicing blades and thrusting spears of his foe. He rolled to avoid a downward cut of sword, almost falling off the edge of the dais. Unbalanced, he could only bring up his own blade in a hasty parry of the spear-thrust that followed. Eldrad was it his side in the next moment, the Seer's witchblade coruscating with purple energy as he thrust it into the gut of the daemon. Psychic power exploded along the weapon as white light, and the enchanted crystalline blade exploded, hurling Farseer and daemon apart.
Smoke trailed from the bladeless hilt as Eldrad thumbed back down the ramp. Asurmen wasted not a moment as he lept to the attack, taking up his sword in both hands and swinging at the neck of the daemon. The blade cut deep, slashing into semi-corporeal flesh. Yanking the sword free, he spun on his heel and delivered a backhand blow to the other side of the creature's neck, severing its head with the second blow.
The Keeper of Secret's corpse collapsed into multicoloured shards of crystal, which scythed into Asurmen like daggers. His armour withstood the impact, its surface cut and pierced, but not broken. He hurried to Eldrad and was relieved to find that the Seer still lived. He offered a hand, and helped him to his feet.
