- 1. What happened in the interview/practice?
- I had my mock interview with Casey, it was my first one with her. First she asks some general questions
- like "tell me about yourself" and then she asked some technical questions like "What are the four principles of OOP?"
- 2. What are some best practices of technical interviews that you've discussed?
- We didn't discuss best practices, but maybe some I can think are:
- - Paused before answering the question to recognize the question and show that you thought about it
- - If you don't know the answer, say that you don't know then say how'd you go about figuring it out
- - Ask clarifying questions on unclear things
- - Always ask if you can use irb and the internet
- 3. What did you excel at in the practice?
- I did well as answering the general questions
- 4. What will you continue to practice as you prep for interviews in the future?
- - Reviewing technical ruby/javascript questions that people ask
- - Daily practice of common interview challenges
- - Practicing whiteboarding
- - Practicing interview questions without using irb
- 5. What surprised you about the practice?
- I'm so rusty gah! I didn't even finish the challenge in the time that was allowed
