  1. A brief summary on managing your game in omake.
  2. This guide is mostly written from the perspective of oomSEST, so some of these don't work in omake and omake overhaul.
  3. You don't need to follow anything here, this is just to make things easier if you feel like you're hitting a brick wall and want to progress.
  4. A lot of the strategies that worked in vanilla also work here.
  5.
  6.
  7. Platinum
  8.
  9. Right off the bat most people bail when they find out platinum costs are sky high in omake. Here are some tips on managing that.
  10.
  11. First, you only need to be able to either beat zeome for mourneblade, get ehekatl's lucky dagger, or find a weapon with absorb stamina. Once you have this you get access to the most common power leveling strategy, bubbling your stats.
  12.
  13. Second, dungeons are much better for getting platinum in the long run than doing quests. Platinum scales really well in omake, a lvl 33 dungeon can have 8+ platinum. Deep in the void you can get hundreds of platinum and dozens of small medals from a single boss chest. The exact amount you get is random.
  14.
  15. You'll probably want to resist the urge to grab every skill. They are still useful, but as long as you are grinding plat for skills, you're stuck slaving away doing quests. Focus on getting the skills you need. For most types of combat this is, armor skill, evasion, greater evasion, weapon skill, tactics or marksman, 2h or dual wield, and maybe eye of mind. A mage only needs armor, evasion, casting, memorization, control magic, and literacy.
  16.
  17. You'll want to keep your potentials at 50-100% using skill points, and any spare plat you don't need for more skills. As soon as you can, run dungeons for plat. Keep your fame low by failing quests (party quests are easy to fail, and give higher -fame, you can also just die, each death cuts your fame by a percentage). This will keep dungeon levels low, you only need to rush the boss. Increase your fame as you can handle stronger dungeons/quests.
  18.
  19. Potentials
  20. Blessed potential potions only give ~2-5% potentials to all stats in vanilla/omake. Later on it is possible to get around this, buy making hundreds of them at a shot.
  21.
  22. In the mean time, you can take food and drop it on a god altar and pray. Do this in stacks to save time/effort.
  23. This makes them give ~2% to the primary attribute and ~1% to the secondary attribute, when eaten.
  24. Each god has a specialty but here are the important ones:
  25. kumiromi/inari: most primary attributes get a little potential
  26. Mani/Lulwy: speed
  27. Izzaplt/Ehekatl: mana
  28. Opatos/Jure: life
  29.
  30. Improving skills
  31.
  32. If you need to grind attacking skills you can use sand bagged enemies like the one in noyel during december. You can steal that sandbag by releasing the prisoner.
  33.
  34. You can also read skill books. All skills and weapon skills are now available as books. The easiest way to get skill books is to go to noyel, wait for it to snow, and go into the shelter. Every time you enter it re-rolls the book there. If it's one you want you can steal it. You'll need the pickpocket skill to do so.
  35. To read the book you'll want to stay in a snowy region like noyel or little sister mansion. Rest on the world map until it snows, or use lulwys statue. Then you read, bind it to a hotkey and hold it down. Stay outside to keep time from speeding up, preferably near a food source like the innkeeper.
  36.
  37. Gear
  38.
  39. Omake changed the balance for armor skills. Medium and heavy armors make the character slower, but in exchange they get small chance to nullify damage. You can use speed potions/spells to overcome the penalty. The speed buff was changed to cap at 2x your base speed (including mutations/disesas buffs).
  40. Additionally, all hard caps to casting penalty have been removed, so you can be a heavy armor user with 2 shields and still cast spells 100%. Greater spells still have their cap unless you worship danalin.
  41.
  42. The best materials to aim for are mithril, dragon scale, and adamantium. You'll blessed change scrolls for mithril, and blessed superiour scrolls for dragon and adamantium. Mithril has innate magic resistance, and dragon scale has a heavy bonus to cold and fire resistance. Adamantium is great for PV and should be used on your high pv items, like body armor and shields. If you hover over yoru charactr (and have the option enabled in the settings screen) you'll see what resistance class they have for each element. If they have class 10, they don't take damage from that element.
  43.
  44. Good choices for static artifacts are sage's healm, unknown shell, the lucky dagger, and inari's Kogitsunemaru. The Kogitsunemaru gives you imunity to all 6 basic status effects and you can give her noodles that most bakeries sell. You can combine this with the lucky dagger to block theives and see invisible. The unknown shell helps you get the faith needed for the rewards.
  45.
  46. In omake you can re-roll static artifacts with a superior material scroll, to get different enchanments.
  47.
  48. For random gear, dungeons are a good source, as are treasure balls that you can get with yen coins from fighting in the arena, or gathering spots. Poppy's cave is a good source of gathering spots.
  49.
  50. The +enhance value of weapons now increases the damage multiplier by 1% of the current weapon skill, or .15% for ammo.
  51. Ie, with 2000 firearm, +10 to both a gun and it's ammo will give 11.5% of firearms, or +230, to the multiplier.
  52.
  53. For armor it's +2 pv per.
  54.
  55. Getting enchant requires either scrolls of enchant (3 for blessed normal, 6 for blessed greater), living weapons (+1 per level), or the smithing hammer skill (~lvl * 9/20 capped at 1,000).
  56.
  57. Magic
  58.
  59. Omake makes a few notable changes and adds in greater spells and custom spells.
  60.
  61. Normal spells no longer have their chance to cast capped by gear choice. Greater spells still do unless you worship.
  62. Spell enhance is uncapped, but only the highest source of it counts.
  63. Spell enhance doesn't work on greater spells unless you worship danalin.
  64.
  65. You gain potential by reading books for spells that have books.
  66. And by sleeping for the rest, including custom spells.
  67.
  68. To make greater spells you need to reach rank 1 in the mages guild, then the guild master will give you quests to find monster parts. You can make 1 new custom spell for each quest you complete.
  69.
  70.
  71. Alchemy
  72.
  73. Alchemy potions can now be combined in the fusion pans/pots/etc. The chance to succeed is based on their +enhance leveling.
  74. The power of the potions is muliplied by their enhance level. Ie, a +50 potion is about 51 times stronger than a normal potion.
  75. Moltove cocktails have their radius expand, be careful.
  76.
  77. Race
  78.
  79. Races now have a built-in pv/dv bonus based on level that they get when they don't wear armor or shields. Golems, Fairies, and Liches get the best bonus out of the playable races, while metal races get so high a bonus you can't even scratch them without using pierce.
  80. Most races are fairly good in omake, but faires and liches can exploit their race armor and only use weapons to get by.
  81.
  82. Class
  83.
  84. There is a whole nother page of classes omake has added. you can read about them on the wiki.
  85. Some important notes, some clases get unquie skills. Claymores can use boost. warmages can enchant their attacks with elemental damage, idols can sing in addition to play an instrument. There may be others. In oomSEST you can take the singing feat to be able to sing as any class.
  86.
  87. Feats
  88.
  89. Omake adds a lot of feats. You'll want the ones that corraspond to your weapon first, then other combat ones.
  90.
  91. In oomSEST 4 feats lines scale with level.
  92.
  93. Arm wrestling: gives ~lvl/3 strength.
  94. stone defense: gives ~2 * lvl/3 pv.
  95. Tough: gives ~lvl/3 constitution.
  96. Sexy: gives ~lvl/5 charisma.
  97.
  98. Ether diseases
  99.
  100. Ether diseases scale to absurd levels in oomsest. It's not unusual for players to get 10k+ bonus speed from the hooves and wings ether disease. The violence disease sends your dv far into the negatives, but in exchange you can have characters with +6k bonus damage. 4 eyes, and the 2 beast diseases are good sources of perception. You can overpower the sound weakness with an extra 1k-2k sound resistance.
  101.
  102. You can get greature cure corruption potions, these will let you choose the ether disease you want to remove, so it's fairly easy to maintain them.
  103.
  104. Titles
  105. Many of the titles give you extra abilities. You can see them with (y). Here are some of the useful ones:
  106.
  107. champion of labrynths - can return to lvl 1 of lesimas
  108. mach speed cat - can return to any town with a blessed return scroll
  109. destroyed desctructive weapons - can return to the chaos forts with a blessed return scroll
  110. Ragnorok - re-enables the gerobug capturing trick.
  111. god of war - swarm has +1 range.
  112. Dual wield mastery - gain +1 to your extra attacks when using dual-wield. This goes past the cap.
  113. Billionare - can have up to 17 servants at your home.
  114.
  115. The test versions have 2 new important effects:
  116. Junkie - raises base stat cap from 2000 to 9999
  117. strength is power - +1 to swarm range. Stacks with god of war.
  118.
  119. Dungeons
  120.
  121. Random hidden small medals spawn in dungeons, just like in towns.
  122.
  123. As dungeon level goes up npcs will get better gear with higher enchantments and enhancements up to +1000.
  124.
  125. Putit dungeons have only putits and are good for weak adventurers.
  126. Forest dungeons have crops you can harvest.
  127. lonely dungeons don't let you bring your pets, but have a lot of rare herbs in the boss loot.
  128. purgatory dungeons have only dragons and titans, but give artifact fusion licenses.
  129. Fanatic dungeons have people worshiping diffrent gods, and tons of altars. Do. Not. Convert. The. Altars.
  130. Not yet, at least. Later, when you can, you'll be able to farm the event.
  131.
  132. Smithing
  133.
  134. The wiki has most of what you need for this. However, some tips for getting started.
  135. Success rate compares your hammer level and your constitution to the value of the items you're making. Boost your constitution to make it easier.
  136. Combining furniture with monster parts never fails and gives xp.
  137. Bringing damaged weapons back up to 0, or enhancing them never fails. You can damage weapons with acid puddles, from sulfuric acid, or slimes.
  138. The test version lets you create ranged weapons using animal bones (the item that gens randomly on maps) jewelry with gold bars, and ammo using ore pieces.
  139. You can find a hammer in all the usually tool-finding-spots, but you can also fish them up as junk items when fishing.
  140. If you do manage to get a +2000 hammer, enchant and enhance your gear before reincarnating it.
  141.
  142. Useful strategies and tricks
  143.
  144. Shift + I toggles the skill tracker
  145. Shift + h toggles auto-mining
  146.
  147. You set up an auto-picker that automatically picks up items as you walk over them.
  148.
  149. Several actions can be set up to happen automatically when you hold CTRL down as you walk. This includes auto-bashing trees, auto-harvesting crops, and auto-planting seed that you have set a keybind for.
  150.
  151. You can change the options available for living weapons with a scroll of name, or by changing the +enhance value. Every time the living weapon levels it's enhance increases +1.
  152.
  153. You can wish for a new race. This lets you get some of the races specials. Golems get dim immunity, mutants gives you the mutation feat, beware this will kill your speed with -60% total if you started with the full 13 limbs, and spiders can pass through webs. There may be others, but you can't be metal and get the metal bit.
  154.
  155. If you carry around a trashcan item, any deleted items from overflow will be sent their instead. Use it with (t) to delete them, or (o) open it to retrieve them.
  156.
  157. Zombies can convert killed mobs into friendly zombies of 1-2x the enemies level. This quickly spirals out of control, and makes zombies one of the most overpowered pets.
  158.
  159. You can re-roll artifacts enchants and enhancements with superior mat scrolls, these scale with dungeon level.
  160.
  161. Buy a shelter, place it, then remove it. This increases shelter no. The higher the number the higher the dungeon level of shelters. This is a safe way to increase dungeon level for anything you need dungeon levels for. Be careful about raising this too much, as MMM becomes harder if it's too high. Trap difficulty also goes up with dungeon level.
  162.
  163.
  164. Common power gaming features that work in omake
  165.
  166. Bubbling your stats. This is fairly straight forward. Get a bunch of sand baged bubbles in a checkerboard board pattern around you. Then hold swarm down.
  167. As you attack them they will split, you gain 1/5 xp from the bagged bubbles, and full xp from the copies.
  168.
  169. You should learn swarm by 25 in tactics.
  170.
  171. To get the bubbles you can either summon monsters, or use a pet bubble you found. The sewers in lumiest have a few blue bubbles and mass monsters.
  172. If you used a pet bubble you'll need to (i)nteract with them and set their ai to allow splitting. Then poison them, and you can capture their copies in sandbags.
  173.
  174. To make the most of your bubbles there are several things you can do:
  175.
  176. 1) boost their weight. You can simply throw blessed milk at them and feed them puff puff bread.
  177. When their corpses weigh 10s you'll get max favor from sacrificing them, and can easily cap favor on demand.
  178. Money caps at 500s, and you can cook them into steak for even more money.
  179.
  180. 2) skin factory. As your get higher level bubbles you can use their skins to help grind smithing, or just to sell.
  181.
  182. 3) Stat grinding. If you have a weapon with absorb stamina and nether you can just hold down swarm with a weight and gain stats/skills like crazy.
  183. You don't need to worry about potentials, even with 1% you'll gain levels/attributes for quite a while.
  184. You need nether to keep from starving to death, and absorb stamina so you can keep swarming.
  185. For best results, turn off animations, attack interval, and alert wait in the settings menu, as well as operation weight in ex settings 8.
  186. You can also turn off the log in ex setting 7, and disable popups in display 1
  187. Once you meet the requirements, there's nothing stopping you from just holding down the swarm button over night, with a weight.
  188.
  189. It's recommended to set up your bubble factories in a shelter to avoid etherwind, or item overflows.
  190.
  191. --------------------------------------------------------------------
  192.
  193. MMM, mani material mining
  194.
  195. When you worship mani, anytime you disarm a trap you get materials. These are based on the dungeon level, and you get more with higher favor.
  196.
  197. To exploit this you need a mine dog, and an enemy, preferably sandbag. Ride the mine dog in sight of the enemy, and it will place traps. Hold down (s)earch and you will disarm those traps. You can't be immune to mines, so no flight or being a mine dog yourself. The mine dog can cast gravity in it's AI settings, if you can't stop yourself from flying. You can increase the dungeon level with shelters. The no. on shelters increases each time one is placed, and corresponds to dungeon level.
  198.
  199. Doing this, you can easily have infinite materials to craft descent pots, potential potions, etc.
  200.
  201. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  202.
  203. harvest loop
  204.
  205. Once you get enough memorization skill, and/or high enough wizard harvest level, you can actually sustain casting it. Every time you cast wizard's harvest there is a small chance you'll get a wish rod. You can then wish for a harvest book. Read them one charge at a time then cast all your stock, for maximum effect. You'll eventually start to turn a profit on wish rods, and you get infinite wishes, gold, platinum, and small medals.
  206.
  207. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209. bonus point maxing
  210.
  211. In oomSEST you gain skill points based on your boosted learning stat, and it isn't capped. You can get hundreds or even thousands of skill points at level 1.
  212. To set this up, you'll want either a high spell enhance, or a strong custom spell. You'll also need many, many, descent potions.
  213. Just place a stack of normal potions next to a stack of blessed ones.
  214. Cast the buff, and walk back and forth pressing the your keybind to drink the pots.
  215.
  216. When you're ready to spend your millions of skill points, switch to ehekatl and get her to 100,000+ favor. Then use school of lesson, it gives 5x exp.
  217.
  218. ----------------------------------------------
  219.
  220. Gerobug zombie trick
  221.
  222. When you have the Ragnorok title, some void balls from the void, and a splitting enemy (I'll use a bubble as a reference), you can use this trick to get any level of any npc you want.
  223.
  224. How it works.
  225. The title causes an npc that vomits (and generates the item) to have it's data copied onto a monster ball in slot 0, if you have one there. By default picked up items go in that slot, but some exceptions apply. You can use the wizard console to check what items are in what slots, even outside of wizard mode.
  226.
  227. Now, if the ball has nothing in it, the npc will be spawned in at a normal level, but if it had an npc in it, that it spawns in at that npcs level.
  228.
  229. So, you have a zombie attack the split bubbles from your sand bagged bubble. When a red zombie is created it will be 1.5x or 2x the level of the bubble. Capture this zombie in a void ball, and then use the gerobug to overwrite it with a bubble. You now have a bubble 1.5-2x the level it used to be. You can make it split, and bag it's split to restart the process.
  230.
  231. A lvl 50M bubble will have capped value monster parts for selling, or smithing. Around lvl 1B it will overflow and go into the negative levels.
