Bayezid: Magus Casting Techniques Lesson - Wordcasting I

It was bound to be quite the journey, and with the mind feeling somewhat burned in the process? Bayezid took it upon himself to consider the application of Wordcasting. After all, they were going to be on a long trek, and while conversation typically got stale? Who was to say that applying mana to his words couldn't take upon some interesting effects?

Thus, he considered the necessary ingredients...
Confidence.
Charisma.
Mana focused at the throat, and...
Intent.

Intent ruled everything, after all.

Given the intent was already clear? He cleared his throat and braced himself. Ever since starting his intentful magus journey with Runecasting, every attempt to cast was taken from a programmatic perspective.

First, a target within their line of sight -- Poppylus, just over yonder, an easy pick.

Second, an attunement to the magic of choice -- something that was taken by default...

Third, a shape he intended it to take....

And lastly? the purpose of his casting...

With thoughts manifested in sequence, he spoke:

"With the power invested in me..."

His voice was... Strange... Having swelled at the throat with mana, it took upon a doubled mannerism -- as though a duet of persons spoke through his maws in a disjointed auditory fashion.


"I call upon the Ether to heed my call... Encompass this flower and draw it to me!"

So bold, so blatant... And alas? Success! To think, it would come so easy on the first try?! It was so alien to him. Hovering within a spherical aegis and slowly hover to his open hand -- was a single, plucked Poppylus flower.

Perhaps, he was a natural, growing more confident by the day! Or... It was beginner's luck. At least, this time, he had a witness!
"Hamza! Look!" He exclaimed, attempting to point out the additional Poppylus within his possession. Though, it was clear they were busy -- searching out for water crystals per his own request. If anything, he was only slowing that down.

A sigh was suppressed with closed lips, hissing through his nostrils as he deflated.

"Sorry... I kinda got a little carried away there. We're looking for uh... aquatic creatures. Things attuned to water to harvest from, right?"

Hamza Gazi says, "Oh, very impressive, you learn fast."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Well, uuh... It's still the 'Energy Shield' spell from before..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Just... Finding new ways to use it."

Hamza Gazi says, "I'm seeing if any water crystals are in shops before moving onto creatures."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Ah, alright."

Hamza Gazi says, "Only a single water crystal."

Hamza Gazi asks, "How about you?"

Bayezid Gazi says, "Only the one."

Hamza Gazi says, "Unlucky."

Hamza Gazi asks, "Still nothing, do you know any better spots, Bayezid?"

Bayezid Gazi says, "Uuuuuh..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Far west, nearby that creepy fortress..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "There is a biiiiiiig tower..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "With a lot of these things under it."

Hamza Gazi says, "Another big guy."

Hamza Gazi exclaims, "GODS!!"

Hamza Gazi exclaims, "WHY!!"

Conflict was hardly a matter he could manage to his advantage. In fact, in this circumstance? He was practically useless... Save for perhaps, an alternative means of wordcasting. He had done so before...
So, perhaps, this time? It was actually worth a shot!

"Hamza! You got this!" What exactly was this going to prove?
"You have the power to take these things down..."
Of course he did, he was pulling all of this off thus far. Wasn't he?
Perhaps, Hamza could feel the subtle resonations of mana he was trying to imbue across his circuitry -- the build up in his vocal chords.

"I think I might have figured this one out... It's not as hard as I originally thought."

A deep breath, and he'd take to a boastful shout. Truly confident in Hamza's ability demonstrated thus far. There wasn't anything to cause him doubt, besides, he truly intended to vouch for his sibling until the end.

"By the power invested in me... I will not see a fate where you lose!"

He was speaking as though he was manifesting the future itself. In some ways, perhaps he was.


"May your muscles manage beyond their ache.... May no tremor against bone falter your stability! May you rise up once more, with the strength to tackle before you... Not because you are a magi -- but because you are a Gazi, that shares my blood!"


Perhaps, it was him attempting to give him a pep talk... Though imbuing his voice with mana as he done so may've proven to be an outright waste. Right?
Was he feeling -anything- from this encouragement? Anything remotely inspiring in Bayezid's words? Perhaps, only he could tell.
(Bayezid Gazi)

Hamza Gazi exclaims, "I HAVE IT!!"

Hamza Gazi exclaims, "RUN!!"
Hamza Gazi says, "Finally..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "I... Tried to using wordcasting on you..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Didn't know if it worked at all... But uh..."

Bayezid Gazi says, "You seemed to stand through it all."

Hamza Gazi says, "I heard it, at least."

Hamza Gazi says, "It was the heat of combat, sorry if I didn't understand it much."

Bayezid Gazi says, "Uuuh, fair... Trying to give 'inspiring words' in the middle of a fight may've proven a bit unrealistic, in hindsight."
