  1. Greetings whoever is reading this,
  2.
  3. During the period of this last Sunday and today (December 4th - December 7th) my access to both the "Official SWG-Legends Social Media Platform Discord" and ingame service reviving the "Star Wars Universe" aka the "[...]greatest saga ever told -Yours. ..." aka SWG Legends have been restricted for actions that happened in Discord.
  4.
  5. Here is a link to the Discord guidelines: https://swglegends.com/rules/community/discord/
  6.
  7. Nowhere it is written on THAT particular page that actions on Discord can restrict in-game access (to which I demand to be granted access again). In fact, the only service I should have been restricted of is the access of the private Discord channel, for breaking the following rules to which I plead guilty to avoid any unnecessary waste of time:
  8.
  9. -Disrespecting or Attacking Others 2nd offense: 3 Day Suspension from Discord
  10. -Spamming Chat or Voice Channels: First Violation will result in a Warning (which I did not receive)
  11. -Settling Personal Disputes in Discord: 7 Day Suspension from Discord
  12.
  13. The total resulting to a warning and 10 days suspension from the Discord private channel.
  14.
  15. The reason of my restriction is for breaking the Code of Conduct. What part of the Code of Conduct? I have no idea.
  16.
  17. Here is a link to the Code of Conduct: https://swglegends.com/rules/community/codeofconduct/
  18.
  19. Here is the code:
  20.
  21. THE CODE
  22.
  23. Players will:
  24.
  25. Respect one another...
  26.
  27. Respect all players, regardless of guild or faction...
  28.
  29. Respect of all Social Media Platforms...
  30.
  31. Refrain from conduct or chat that brings real life into SWG Legends in a negative way...
  32.
  33. Uphold the Code of Conduct at all times...
  34.
  35. According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Player), a player (in this case) is:
  36.
  37. Player (game), a participant in a game
  38. Player character, a character in a video game or role playing game who is controlled or controllable by a player
  39.
  40. According the Wikipedia (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/participate), to participate (in this case) means:
  41.
  42. participate ?(third-person singular simple present participates, present participle participating, simple past and past participle participated)
  43.
  44. (intransitive) To join in, to take part, to involve oneself (in something). [from 16th c.]
  45.
  46. "oneself" being me, Raton, and "in something", the game aka SWG Legends.
  47.
  48. Yet, I was not online at the time. Therefore, the Code of Conduct was not broken by not following THE CODE.
  49.
  50. Here are the rules to follow according to the Code of Conduct:
  51.
  52. RESPECTING ONE ANOTHER
  53.
  54. The success of your fellow players, represent your success as a member of the SWG Legends Community. If you are insulting your fellow players in anyway, regardless of his/her offenses, you are breaking the Code. It is the job of the Staff of SWG Legends to judge player offenses, not the players. By treating everyone with respect and allowing the staff to deal with problems, you help to maintain order and strength, which is necessary in achieving our goals.
  55.
  56. RESPECT ALL PLAYERS, REGARDLESS OF GUILD OR FACTION
  57.
  58. Whether a rival ally, or an opponent you detest, regardless of insults or offenses… SWG Legends Players will refrain from negative actions toward them. It does no good to squabble over meaningless comments. By responding in anyway, we validate that those comments have affected us, and in that we allow them to become truths to a certain degree. We are above any offenses and will not allow the negativity of others to derail the plans we have. This is also important also important because the individual actions of our players in these situations affect our community as a whole. Others perception of our community is important as it allows us to grow in a positive way. For example, think of players that exploit or trash talk, would you want to be a part of them? Would new players? Would you want someone thinking that you are a cheater or trashtalker?
  59.
  60. RESPECTING SWG LEGENDS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS
  61.
  62. When interacting with other players or staff members, across any of the SWG Legends Official; Social Media Platforms, please behave in a manner, that is acceptable, taking into consideration the rest of this, Code of Conduct. If a player is abusive towards you, on any SWG Legends Social Media, please report this behaviour to one of the CSR Staff.
  63.
  64. REFRAIN FROM CONTACT
  65.
  66. When you login, please leave any personal issues, resentments, or hang ups out of the game. If someone insults you pertaining to these issues, do not partake in the exchange. We want to create an environment where players, both young and old, from all around the world, all walks of life, can come together and enjoy themselves in the Star Wars Universe. If everyone in our community approached the game with this attitude, we would play in a much, more enjoyable, welcoming, and creative game. We ask all SWG Legends Playtes to champion this vision and help to create that world.
  67.
  68. UPHOLDING THE CODE
  69.
  70. Together, we can accomplish anything we want ingame, and enjoy that mission every step of the way. A bad day is no reason to hurt the reputation of a fellow player or the community as a result, and there is never a good reason to break the Code, and no defense will satisfy Staff. In being a member of this community, you take up a responsibility, to all of your fellow players. Only when you are upholding the Code, can you know that others are too. If you are slacking, it's a good bet, others are as well.
  71.
  72. When meeting new players, or others outside of your group or guild that you run with, with the Code of Conduct in mind, we not only give them a good impression of our community, but we create an opportunity for our Conduct to “rub off” on them, and through this, we can affect the attitudes of the entire community.
  73.
  74. All these rules are for players... to defends players which we were not (as we were not online) at the time of the said "infraction".
  75.
  76. As for the conclusion of the Code of Conduct (that is located at the bottom of the same page):
  77.
  78. CONCLUSION
  79.
  80. Any questionable conversations, simply hit the printscreen button and save a copy of it, using avenues like imgur.com. Walk away from insulting players or difficult situations, if you think that you might lose your cool. You can take away your enemies power by simply ignoring them, or leaving them, altogether. Contact any member of the CSR Staff about any and all questions or problems. You are judged by your actions, which can affect your future in the game. If you can’t handle something, please ask for help.
  81.
  82. The Code of Conduct does not limit your gaming experience. If trash talking and insulting is your thing, then, I’m sure there are other servers for you to join. We will not part on bad terms, if you choose proper conduct is not the route for you. The Code is not based on arrogance. We are not trying to be better than others. It is based on respect. We are trying to be better than the poor conduct, all to prevalent in our collective gaming experience.
  83.
  84. Let me quote the first sentence of the second paragraph:
  85.
  86. "The Code of Conduct does not limit your gaming experience. "
  87.
  88. I am currently unable to have a gaming experience because of the same Code of Conduct, to which I do not recognize to have infracted any rules of, as I was not playing at the same of said infractions.
  89.
  90. For real talk, not only has it been said multiple times that ingame infracitons would not be distributed for Discord actions, I was wrongfuly banned as nobody approached me to understand the situation AND I have not insulted anybody on Discord. The only rules I could possibly have broken are located in the Discord rules and are the following (by being generous as I was only openly talking and not targeting anybody):
  91.
  92. -Spamming Chat or Voice Channels
  93.
  94. Voice Spamming involves using your microphone and playing loud music, yelling, or playing any other disruptive sounds in a channel with the intent to annoy or upset others.
  95.
  96. First Violation will result in a Warning.
  97. Second Violation will result in Loss of Voice/Text Privileges
  98. Third Violation will result in Permanent Ban from Discord.
  99.
  100. -Settling Personal Disputes in Discord
  101.
  102. First Violation will result in a 24 Hour Suspension from Discord.
  103. Second Violation will result in a 7 Day Suspension from Discord.
