- burneth bright the lamp of wisdom and courage
- burneth bright the stars at night
- burneth bright the champion within
- burneth bright eternal light
- one doth begin the styfling task of age and wisdom
- bareing many a sinful woe bedragging his wings destined for flight of purity
- oh such heavy cargo he must carry for of his own making
- as he doth nourish the gift of light from above
- he begs and pleads for the cleansing of his wings
- to find only rotten feathers and immobility
- for a sinful path he has trodden upon his feet
- effortful redemption is his only key
- the biting cruel lesson of sin he surely knows
- as the bitter winter cold beckons him afar
- the journey of redemption he surely knows
- for of his attonement to the past
- clouded was his vision with poison a many
- as his lights grew dimmer with intoxication a plenty
- see clearly he does now ambition yet so gently
- for his inner rage has subsided with all the bottles so empty
- purity he must find now he is no longer blind
- his wings he must cleanse and his cargo cannot be left behind
- this truth he does realise as he takes it in his stride
- to overcome the mountainous challenge before him as with God he becomes one
