ON SAMAEL

SAMAEL, HA-SHAYATIN, “Poison of God” “Blindness of God” “accuser” “seducer” “destroyer”.

In his current form he originates from a line of experiments conducted by the Christian God, EL. He was the first in this line of experiments, birthed before ABADDON. He is a sort of “prototype” angel, a failed experiment. However prior to his current state his origin story can be traced back further - to pre-existence. SAMAEL emerged from the Abyss after Creation took place. He was dragged out of the Waters by forces yet unbeknownst to me, while the creatures of the Abyss clung to him and tore his psyche apart. SAMAEL longs to return Creation to its quintessential primordial state, and can teach the magus how to carry out that task. Yes, that means he can teach you how to destroy the Universe. Pretty fucking metal, right? He teaches communication with the creatures of the Abyss, that is how to work with Lovecraftian deities… If you can even call it “working with” them. These forces are far more powerful than any gods that mankind recognizes here on Earth, in fact, many of our gods derive power from them. To these creatures we AND OUR GODS are small, less than ants. Some of them will give us and our gods time out of their infinite existence to grant us crumbs of their awesome power. The greatest magi couldn’t even begin to comprehend the power these entities hold. Many of them are in fact unaware of our existence and how their existence impacts our lives. In this case SAMAEL can teach the magus to stealthily bind those actions and bend them to suit us. Much can be said of this topic and it’s far more than I have the capacity to write.

SAMAEL rules over the 8th Qlipha, the Qlipha of Mercury. It’s quite fitting, as this particular sphere will have the magus questioning his/her sanity. To initiate through this sphere one must glance insanity, and at once be forever branded by madness - as SAMAEL is.

He is blind in one eye, his good eye is grotesquely enlarged, he walks with a hunch, (leaned in towards the direction of his good eye) wears a grey robe, and carries a walking stick. He has long, white and greyed hair. He has large, grey feathered wings - not unlike those depicted on ABADDON (MAVETH.) SAMAEL’s personality is one that can only be described as burned by madness. His speech is frenzied and he presents himself in a wild and oftimes strange manner. He knows many things, more than he lets off at first - about the origins of this Universe and much more.
