  1. Intro: 8 Hot tip, listen to this with headphones on because the synth work is crazy. I’m not crazy about outrun music in general and this reminds me a lot of that but it’s still a pop song so it doesn’t bother me.
  2.
  3. 22nd Century: 6 I like the idea of this futuristic club more than the actual execution, it’s not bad but it’s very repetitive.
  4.
  5. Fourth Of July: 7 The Italo house piano on this track is prime and saves it from being otherwise unremarkable.
  6.
  7. Home: 7 A fun ride with a weird ending.
  8.
  9. Acapella: 10 Imo this is Kelis’s only shot at winning the rate but wow, what a song. There’s a lot of really great production on this album that doesn’t quite reach its full potential, and this song shows how powerful Kelis could be when she did. That metallic sounding beat that just hammers throughout the song is perfect and Kelis’s unique voice fits into the sonics very well. I love the melody and the lyrics too, they’re simple but the simplicity really works with everything going on around it. Possibly the best bridge in the rate.

  11. Scream: 8.5 This would fit right in on *Dirty Computer*.

  13. Emancipate: 7.5 https://twitter.com/katya_zamo/status/873251462758924288?lang=en
  14.
  15. Brave: 5.5 It has potential but it ends up as noise.
  16.
  17. Song for the Baby: 9 The production on this song is god tier and I love the writing but I think Kelis’s voice holds it back a bit. She’s not terrible or anything like that but her voice is so sleepy and earthy, I think someone with a lighter tone like a Solange would have brought it to a whole new level.

  19. Carefree American: 8.5 why is this better and more memorable than most of the actual album
