<h2>Once Upon a Time...</h2>

With roses in hand and a heavy heart, I make my way down the corridors to the plaque that bears your name. I stand below and look above, wishing I could see your face one more time. You didn't leave a note, we couldn't say goodbye. You took that chance away from us with the sadness we could see in your eyes. I wish that things could have been different. I wish that you had sought out help. I wish that you had confided in someone, but wishes are what wishes are and have no place in reality. I still continue on day to day, knowing that one day we will meet again. I still ask why, but I know when that day comes I will instead be filled with joy to see you again. So here I stand and place the roses for you down below. I try to think of happier times as I linger for a while. Then I turn and walk away, knowing that I will be back some other time. I pray that you're now at peace, with all of those who have gone before you, and have healed from your sadness. All I can do now is face the tide and remember echoes of your laughter to get me through once in a while.

Suicide sadly is very prevalent in our society. November 5, 2014 will be a day that I'll always remember. I urge any of you that have similar feelings to please seek help. While you believe that it would end the suffering for you, the ones you leave behind will miss you terribly and never understand the choice that you made. They will blame themselves even though you made that choice. Please at least call the suicide hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or at least confide in a friend. People do want to help you, but unfortunately you have to reach out first. I'm not a psychiatrist, I still have no understanding of what happened (and never will), but I am a daughter who lost her mother and I hope that at least means something.
