- I'd like to thank all everyone who supported my work whether with donations or simply upvotes. When I decided to make assets for Cities Skylines, it was because of the lack of double decker trains in the workshop, one I really needed for my city. It all started with 1 asset and now, I'm looking to the workshop list and I'm happy with the content I provided through almost two and half years. The whole point of it was to provide content, useful that is, that will help you to manage your cities and bring some immersion within the game's limits. That is why I always kept passenger count consistent with real life variants of trains (as some makers prefer to reduce them), or make passenger cars a bit shorter so that i can squeeze more on a train set (so real life car size and in-game station lenght can be met at some ground).
- These are small details maybe, but details that mattered to me.
- While doing these, I usually keep the overall quality high (i started with 2k textures, obviously with more and more assets, I learned how to reduce it while keeping the quality consistent - either 2k^1k texture or 1k altogether sometimes.
- Anyways, I've been dealing with negative downvotes recently. Unlike your usual downvote, it's not once or twice but it occurs repeatedly after each time I release an asset, thus it's something consistent, made on purpose. And always, it's 1 downvote.
- Normally I wouldn't mind, however the way Steam Workshop works, 1 downvote, minutes after release costs 15 upvotes. Upvotes are basically the way of pushing an asset on workshop list. negative downvotes pushes assets backwards and I'm releasing assets with -14 stat thanks to this downvoter.
- While Steam support believes upvote/downvote system is fair, it is not.
- TGV took 2 fulltime weeks to make.
- No texture were used, all made on Photoshop.
- No models were imported, since all available ones were crap in my definiton.
- 2 weeks means, I consider the work as real-time job, so I spent real time hours. I don't make assets so they downvoted for no reason and pushed back in the list. Since I'm certain this is occuring moments after I release an asset, this is intentional. I also learned that this is a pretty common scheme, as some "asset" makers downvote other people's work for no reason but just to push their own asset above them.
- I simply don't have time nor patience for such childish activities.
- This person consistently downvotes my assets for no apparent reason, forcing me to stop making assets.
- So that is what will it be.
- TGV is the last asset I'll be doing publicly. I will take no requests nor made assets for free from now on. All future assets will be done when or if they are paid for.
- Assets will be made, but they will be paid for, since I work on full-time. Instead of some artificial happiness of seeing my asset went popular, I will please myself with real money.
- Possibly, unlike the downvote kid.
- I thank for everyone who supported me so far. This is not a goodbye, nor I will NGON myself, I will just spend my time with asset that deserve to be spent.
