Markus Makes a Friend

11:14	<Knave>: The courtyard is pretty empty, given that it's winter. Bar the tall, muscular boy leaning on the gazebo fence with a little mechanical bug hovering off to one side, watching him. Looking out over the brisk morning, his face doesn't betray any particular emotion. God knows what he's doing there, besides just standing. He's not even wearing a jacket.
11:15	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus is sitting a few feet away, pale skin and long dark hair. This kid doesn't like he goes out a lot-especially with those long fingernails. He looks up at Callum and sneers a bit to himself "Tch" he begins writing faster and more furiously in his little leatherbound journal. Screw that kid, I bet he's popular. 11:16	<DarnellJermaine>: just straight up glaring at the man, waiting to see if he'd go away or approach him.
11:19	<Knave>: Callum turns his head, appears to notice Markus for the first time. Slowly he turns on the spot, leans his elbows on the fence, looking at Markus. The bug robot beside him flicks its gaze to Markus, then focuses back on Callum. "Something I can help you with?"
11:20	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus continues to glare down at him. Who did this guy think he was huh? Just because he was big and probably popular- screw off dude. "Not really no. You're in my way" he said with a little growl, slamming his journal shut.
11:22	<Knave>: "Yeah?" Callum cocks an eyebrow, tone even, and looks around the vast, empty courtyard, "Seems to me there's plenty of room here for the both of us."
11:25	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus glares a bit more before standing up and walking towards him. "What's up with you? You showing off or something? Think you're better than me?" he says pretty angrily, but he also seems to be shaking a bit like he's quite scared.
11:27	<Knave>: Callum, unmoved and unmoving, looks Markus up and down, "Don't know you." A flicker of a smile that doesn't fit perfectly on his face, like he picked it up from someone else, "Why? Do /you/ think I'm better than you?"
11:29	<DarnellJermaine>: He shakes a little bit more and puts his head down. "I don't freaking know, damnit." he says, still staring at the ground. "I'm Markus" his clenched fists seem to ease up a bit.
11:31	<Knave>: Callum's green eyes soften, and he extends a hand to Markus, "I'm Callum. Nice to meet you." The gentle smile that spreads across his face looks a lot more natural.
11:32	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus looks up inbetween the bangs of his long dark hair, and slowly reaches out a hand. His skin is incredibly pale and his fingernails are freaking long- like at least 2 or 3 inches! Gross! "So why are you being nice? Aren't you just gonna go make fun of me later?" he says, still a bit wary but much less frustrated and angry.
11:33	<Knave>: Callum shakes Markus' hand, and the grip radiates withheld strength. In the cold, it's pleasantly warm. "Lose the attitude and I won't have any reason to make fun of you." He ribs, and withdraws his hand, leaning back again, "And I'm being nice because my parents raised me right."
11:35	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus lets out a tiny little smile. "You're OK, I guess. A lot of kids seem pretty snobby to me, just 'cuz they're popular. At least you've got manners" Not really, but Markus seems to believe that. "It's fine... you're cool" he said, staring up at Callum with a hint of admiration, having to crane his neck up considering poor Markus is only 5'2". "So... what do you do around here?" he averts his eyes once more, still feeling uncomfortable with the whole social thing.
11:42	<Knave>: Callum seems to involuntarily cough at the question, like he's stifling a laugh. Blame Cass. He slouches down in place, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. "Not much, actually. Just classes, lately. Still waiting on a baseball club to get going..." Callum shrugs, "What kind of stuff do you do?"

11:57	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus kind of looked visibly down at this. He'd been here since the school opened up a month ago, but kids didn't really seem to notice him. Damn popular people. 12:00	<Knave>: "Sounds smart." Callum says with a little smile, "Might try it next time I need to get something out, instead of doing laps around campus."
12:00	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus quickly shuffles out his journal- making sure to flip a couple pages away from his recent entry about Callum... before he found out how nice he was. "H-here! Write here" he says, pushing the journal to him along with a fancy looking pen.
12:02	<Knave>: Callum takes both offered items gently, and a slight blush creeps over his nose as he looks down at them, "Shucks, I, uh, I don't really know what to write."
12:03	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus smiles at him- still creepy looking but the intention is genuine and kind. "Don't worry about it! I won't tell anyone what you write... promise!" and he meant it.
12:06	<Knave>: "Okay." Callum says uncertainly, and focuses intently on the page for a while before scribbling. After a little while, he hands back a page that reads, in a clear, round hand, 'It's strange how lonely it is sometimes even when' and then some crossed out words, 'we're together, and feeling at home doesn't make me feel like I'm really home.' He rubs the back of his neck again and looks bashful, "How's that?"
12:08	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus goes wide eyes and his smile opens up, teeth now showing. Does-does a guy this cool really get him? "IT'S WONDERFUL!" he shouts a bit awkwardly before quickly averting his gaze, "You get it... you get it. You're... really cool" he says blushing a bit and pulling out his phone. "C-can I have your number?"
12:10	<Knave>: "Aw, shucks, I'm not all that." Callum's face reddens, his shoulders slouched forward as he takes out his phone, "Sure you can have my number."
12:11	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus quickly exchanges numbers with the man. Maybe he could finally help Markus be popular?! "OK, thanks!" he said, not really sure what you say in times like these. He blushes a bit again before asking, "Do you uhh.... like (obscure punk band)"

12:20	<Knave>: Callum glaces at Markus with a fresh smile, before looking off over the courtyard again. He recognizes the drive - hell, he can practically hear the same commands echoing in Markus' head as his own; Fit in. Be accepted. "You got any plans for the day?"
12:24	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus looks up in admiration. "N-no. Got anything in mind...dude?" he was trying to hard to be cool right now, and failing miserably.

12:26	<Knave>: Callum stands up and beckons with his whole arm, "Come on, how about I show you around campus?"
12:27	<DarnellJermaine>: Markus already knew everything around Campus, having been here as long as he had. This is what he gets for lying, he supposes. Then again, maybe some other guys or even...g-g-girls will start to notice him if he's hanging out with someone like Callum. "S-sure dude!" he says, nodding furiously.
