| PERSONALITY ; jiao likes to consider herself an optimist, and will always look on the bright side of things. she is rarely ever seen without a smile on her face, and she is actually very talkative. the only problem is, her korean isn't very good, so most of what she wants to say is never actually voiced, because she scared of embarrassing herself by messing up the pronunciation of her words. however, she is a lot more comfortable around her group mates, and talks more behind the scenes than she does on camera, because she doesn't feel as much pressure, and knows that they won't judge her for messing up. she is rarely ever seen with her phone, and a set of headphones with her, and is known to do a lot of song composing. however, her habits can sometimes drive the other girls mad, because her humming is abnormally loud, and she often taps her pen rapidly on any surface available, which can be a pain when the others are trying to sleep. she is the member with the most aegyo up her sleeve, and practically oozes cuteness, due to her shy and soft personality. jiao doesn't often talk to people outside her group, and has some of the worst social skills, which people mostly blame on her lack of knowledge on the korean language. she also absolutely hates confrontation, and prefers to ignore her problems until they go away, even though she knows it probably isn't a good thing to do.

| BACKGROUND ; jiao was born as an only child to a couple in hong kong. this was where she learnt to speak both cantonese and english, as well as picking up basic mandarin phrases from her mother, who had grown up in shanghai. however, jiao didn't get to spend much time with her parents, as her father was a businessman who travelled for work a lot, and her mother was taking university courses to become a chef. but she did manage to build a stable relationship with her parents, despite all this, which was mostly due to the annual holidays they'd take to europe, which is what lead to her interest in travelling. when she was sixteen, her father was transferred to korea for his job, so the whole family was picked up and they moved to daegu. jiao was still in school at the time, and started struggling, mostly due to the fact that she'd never spoken a word of korean in her life, and now she was expected to write essays with proper punctuation and spelling in a language she couldn't actually read. because of this, she took a liking to music classes, due to the fact that she didn't have to write as many essays for it. she was scouted for the entertainment company on her way home from school shortly after her seventeenth birthday, when one of the casting agents had spotted her dancing along the footpath with headphones in her ears. she later went to an audition and was accepted into the company to begin her training.

| STAGE PERSONA ; on stage, jiao is known to be very cute and innocent, and sometimes a bit clumsy. she is that one member who absolutely cannot dance to save her life, and it isn't uncommon for her to stumble through routines. she loves doing aegyo, despite being one of the oldest members, and does it all the time for fans. she doesn't really speak much though, because of the language barrier, and she always gets nervous when cameras are shoved in her face because she's scared of messing up her pronunciation.

| HIS PERSONALITY ; he likes to pretend he has this whole tough guy thing going on, but really he's just a big dork who really couldn't hurt a fly, despite his (sometimes) intimidating appearance. he is also really entertaining, and always likes to make sure his friends are ok, knowing how harsh the entertainment industry can be. he is also extremely confident, and loves showing this off on stage.

| HIS FIRST IMPRESSION ; he was sort of annoyed and offended the first time he met her, because she accidentally swore at him. he kind of just stared at her blinking for a moment before he frowned, and got ready to snap back at her, but then she started talking really quickly and looked absolutely terrified. his first thought was probably something like "she just swore at me who does she think she is - wait why is she crying am i that scary?"

| HER FIRST IMPRESSION ; the first time she met him, she accidentally swore at him. she didn't meant to, but she still isn't very good with korean and has some trouble speaking it, and she meant to say something else, but got the sounds mixed up and swore at him. she knew who he was, and of course knew that he was older than her so she panicked and immediately tried to apologise, scared he was going to swear back at her. however, she was so flustered that she kind mumbled nonsense in a mix of cantonese and korean, then ran off, leaving him very confused. her first thoughts were probably a bunch of jumbled sentences, something like "oh my god did i really just swear at him he's older than me someone help me i'm so screwed let me hide"

| HOW SHE ACTS AROUND HIM ; at first she was extremely cautious, since she'd accidentally swore at him the first time they met, and then just ran, hoping she'd never actually have to meet him again. however, when their groups keep bumping into each other, jiao doesn't really have much choice, and doesn't want to make herself seem even more rude by completely ignoring him, but talking to the other members. she opens up a bit more to him when he starts to talk to her and make an effort, but she's still shy and scared to mess up her korean. towards the end, she is a lot more comfortable, and isn't so worried anymore. she's comfortable enough to the point where she isn't afraid to initiate skinship, and won't move away whenever he comes up behind her and gives her back hugs.

| HOW HE ACTS AROUND HER ; he tries really hard to get to know her at the beginning to prove that he's not nearly as scary as she seemed to think he is. however, he has to try twice as hard because she is hell bent on trying got avoid him. however he finally manages to get her to open up to him a bit more, and he finds her completely adorable, especially her broken korean. he likes ruffling up her hair a lot, because he finds her very cute when she's pissed off. he is usually the first to initiate any skinship, and secretly celebrates when she doesn't push him away. towards the end he gets really protective over her (especially when it comes to other guys, and he always gets jealous when he sees her texting other girls.
