You stand aside from the door in order to allow Mordred to open the door, if there's some sort of magical method or secret to opening this door, then it would make sense if Mordred would know how to open it!

Unfortunately, Mordred just pulls an arm back and slams her fist into the wooden door as hard as she possibly can, the force from her punch being great enough that the door explodes into large wooden splinters! "Oh good, looks like it still works." Mordred has a cheeky smile on her face as she walks inside, inviting you to follow after her.
