PJ's stream plans, August 2017

Hey guys!  I want to give you all an update on my stream content/plans for the near future because it's going to be a bit of a departure from my current lineup for awhile.

I have spent the last ~1.5 years working almost exclusively on the Bionic Commando series.  I devoted basically all of my speedrun efforts on rerouting every Bionic Commando game nearly from scratch and grinding the times down.  As of my writing this, I have the record in every Bionic Commando game except 2k9, and am really satisfied with the any% runs I have in each of them.  The process has been extremely rewarding and challenging, but at the same time I think it is time to move on for awhile.  While I do want to invest some time in the 100% categories of these games, I think it is in everybody's best interests if I switch things up.  I understand that Bionic Commando is not terribly interesting for many people, especially the sequels/handheld versions, and I greatly appreciate your patience and continued support while I selfishly grinded away on this project.

All the Bionic Commando runs and incentives that were hit, and future incentives I had lined up, will all be fulfilled on my return to the Bionic Commando series.  This includes the work on 100% categories, BCR challenge room leaderboard conquest, and some other challenge runs.  I have every intention of completing these later.  ^_^


So, what are the plans moving forward?

My speedrun focus is going to shift back to mostly SNES games, with the main project being ActRaiser 2 again!  I want to improve my Mohawk & Headphone Jack any% and possibly Lagoon any% runs, I want a Batman Forever 100% run, and some Robotrek improvements.  I'll be spending a lot of time working on the Brain Lord route and bringing that time down, too.

I hope to mix in a lot more casual stuff in my stream.  I ordered a Genesis flash cart, so I'll be working through some of the better games in that library finally.  I'll finally play Alundra, which looks amazing, and the Jak & Daxter trilogy.  I'm booting up the 7th Saga partner series again, and will be slowly working through those runs, and hopefully Soviet Saturday will make a comeback.  Depending on how effectively I'm able to resolve some technical issues, we might see the debut of my ZX Spectrum on stream as well.

There's a non-trivial amount of co-op stuff I would like to work on, but I'm not going to hard commit to that right now.  Just know that it is an ongoing interest of mine and I'll be making an effort to include more co-op content on my channel in the near future.

I've been tossing around the idea of working on some score runs.  I definitely want to do a score run of Bionic Commando arcade to take that record, and maybe GnG arcade, but I'm not entirely sold on some other options.  I really like doing alternative challenge runs of games, and some games have really interesting score mechanics.


tl;dr BioCom is taking a break, ActRaiser 2 is returning!
