Kaname: So, what’s up? I was kind of surprised you wanted to talk alone...

テッサ
「申し訳ありませんでした、カナメさん。
ダナンの誕生日パーティに参加してもらうために、
わざわざ日本から来てもらったのに…」
Tessa: I wanted to apologize to you, Miss Kaname. I had you come all the way from Japan to celebrate the Danaan’s birthday party but now...

かなめ
「何だ、そのことなら別に気にしなくてもいいわよ。
延期になっちゃった事情とか、
色々と話は聞いてわかってるから」
Kaname: Oh, you don’t need to worry about that. I already heard it’s getting postponed ‘cuz of what’s going on.

テッサ
「この後、メリダ島へ帰還したら、
日本に帰国できるよう手筈を整えますから」
Tessa: Once this is all taken care of and we return to Merida Island, I’ll make arrangements for you to return to Japan right away.

かなめ
「テッサも忙しいのに、ありがとね。
ってか、そんなことであたしを呼び出したの?」
Kaname: I know you’re busy, so I appreciate that. But is that all you called me here to talk about?

テッサ
「いいえ、本題は別の話…
あなたにウィスパードと呼ばれる存在について
お話しするためです」
Tessa: No, there’s something else I actually wanted to discuss... The people like you that are referred to as the Whispered.

かなめ
「ウィスパード…?」
Kaname: The Whispered?

テッサ
「この世界ではあり得ない、本来誰も知るはずのない
知識を知っている人間のことです。
ブラックテクノロジーの宝庫だと言われています」
Tessa: They are people in this world who have knowledge about things that they normally should not have. The Whispered are said to be a gold mine of black technology.

テッサ
「条件が揃えば、現代の水準を遥かに超えた
科学理論や技術を提供することが出来るからです」
Tessa: Under the right conditions, they can supply scientific theories and engineering concepts which are far higher than the current standards.

かなめ
「うーん…まず、ブラックテクノロジーってのが
あんまりピンと来ないんだけど…」
Kaname: Uh-huh... Okay, but I don’t really know what “black technology” is...

テッサ
「そうですね。
厳密な定義、というと難しいですが…」
Tessa: Yes, I’m sure. It’s hard to define it exactly...

テッサ
「[AS]やこのダナンの推進システム、
そして[ラムダ・ドライバ]にも
ブラックテクノロジーが活用されています」
Tessa: The [AS], the Danaan’s propulsion system, and the [Lambda Driver] all utilize black technology in some form or another.

かなめ
「要するに、あたし達の世界じゃ、
あり得ない技術ってことね…」
Kaname: So basically it’s technology that shouldn’t be possible in our world...

テッサ
「話の流れで既にお気づきかもしれませんが、
カナメさん、あなたもその[ウィスパード]の一人です。
そして、この私も」
Tessa: You may have already surmised from our conversation that you are a [Whispered], Miss Kaname. And I am as well.

かなめ
「テッサはともかくとして、あたしが…?」
Kaname: Both of us are...?

テッサ
「私が知る限り、これまでにあなたは二度、
ウィスパードの力を発揮しています」
Tessa: As far as I know, you’ve shown your power at least twice.

テッサ
「一度目は、あなたがハイジャック事件で
巻き込まれた時のハンカ自治州の山中で…。
二度目は、この間のベヘモスとの戦闘の時に」
Tessa: The first time was in the mountains of the Hanka Autonomous Region. The second time was at the battle with the Behemoth.

テッサ
「いずれもあなたは
決して知り得ないはずのことを知っていた。
もっとも二度目は私が手助けをしましたけど」
Tessa: On both occasions, you knew something that you never could have learned. Of course, I did give you a little help the second time.

かなめ
「手助けって?」
Kaname: You helped me?

テッサ
「覚えてませんか?」
Tessa: Don’t you remember?

かなめ
「…よくわからないの。
あの時、何が…」
Kaname: ...I don’t really know. Whatever happened back then was...

テッサ
「あの時、起きたのは共振です。
ウィスパード同士は、精神の深い部分を通じて
思考を共有することが出来るんです」
Tessa: What happened then is called “resonance”. What this means is that we Whispered can share our thoughts with each other at the deeper level of the psyche.

テッサ
「私とあなたが互いに必要だと強く感じる時、
そういうことが起きます」
Tessa: It can happen at times when you and I both feel strongly that we need each other.

かなめ
「へえ…」
Kaname: Huh...

テッサ
「でも、それはとても危険な行為なんです。
ウィスパードの共振は、可能な限り
避けなければいけません」
Tessa: However, it is a very dangerous thing to do. We need to try and avoid the Whispered’s resonance as much as possible.

かなめ
「どうして?
だって、もしホントにそんな便利な力があったら…」
Kaname: Why? If we do have such a handy power available, then...

テッサ
「便利なものというのは
常に諸刃の剣ですよ、カナメさん」
Tessa: Something as convenient as this can often be a double-edged sword, Miss Kaname.

テッサ
「ウィスパードの共振は、いわば思考の共有なんです。
会話や通信ではなく、溶け合うんです」
Tessa: The Whispered’s resonance is more like mind sharing than conversation. We begin to blend into each other and become one.

テッサ
「例えば、お茶にミルクを混ぜたら、
別々に分けることが出来なくなるように…
一歩間違うと自分が誰なのかもわからなくなってしまう」
Tessa: Like when you try to mix tea and milk for example. Once together, it becomes impossible to separate them again... You could lose yourself. Cease to be if you make just one false step.

「何か…わかったような、わからないような…」
Kaname: Okay... I kinda get it, and I kinda don’t...

テッサ
「抽象的な表現ばかりでごめんなさい。
でも、私にも実際のところ、
よくわかっていないんです」
Tessa: I’m sorry if I’m speaking in abstract terms here. Truth is, I’m not sure that I understand it all that well myself either.

テッサ
「さて、カナメさん。私がこうして話しているのは、
ウィスパードの力を是が非でも
欲しがっている人々がいるからです」
Tessa: But more to the point. I’m telling you all this because there are people out there who want the Whispered’s power for themselves, no matter the costs.

かなめ
「あのガウルンとかいう?」
Kaname: You mean like that Gauron guy?

テッサ
「ええ、彼らはあなたを欲しがっています。
それに、まだ情報は上がって来ていませんが、
他に狙っている組織もいないとも限りません」
Tessa: Yes, he wants your power. And while we have no evidence that suggests such, there is no guarantee that other organizations may be targeting you as well.

テッサ
「私のことを知れば、もちろん私も…」
Tessa: And if any of them were to know about me, I’m sure they would come after myself as well...

かなめ
「そんな…」
Kaname: Oh, man...

テッサ
「でも、あなたは孤立無援ではありませんよ。
私達[ミスリル]は、あなたが敵の手に渡るのを
良しとしませんから」
Tessa: But regardless, I want you to know that you are not alone. We at [Mithril] have absolutely no intentions of letting you fall into the enemy’s hands.

かなめ
「それで、ソースケがついてるのね」
Kaname: So that’s why Sousuke’s been with me.

テッサ
「ええ、まあ…」
Tessa: Yes, well...

かなめ
「ふふ…。
でもさ、あんな世話の焼ける護衛、
聞いたことないわよ」
Kaname: Hehe...Though I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a guard that was such a handful.

かなめ
「ソースケってば、君を守るとか言いながら、
結局自爆するだけなんだから。
まあ、見てて飽きないからいいけどね」
Kaname: Sousuke always says “I’m here to protect you” but then he always just ends up blowing himself up or something. But, at least I never get bored watching him, if nothing else.

テッサ
「わ、私は白旗を上げたわけじゃありませんから!
これでも平時で基地にいる時は、
結構彼と会ってるんですよ?」
Tessa: D-Don’t think for a minute that I’ve thrown up the white flag! I happen to see him quite often at the base, even during times of peace, you know.

かなめ
「結構会ってるって、そ、そうなの?
そんな話、ソースケからは…」
Kaname: You s-see him a lot, huh? Sousuke never said anything about that...

テッサ
「聞いてないんですか?
ふふ、じゃあ、後は秘密です」
Tessa: He hasn’t, has it? Hehe, well, the rest is a secret.

かなめ
「あ、あんたねえ…」
Kaname: L-Look, you...

テッサ
「これでおあいこですよ」
Tessa: I suppose we’re even now.

かなめ
「だ、だから!
あたしとあいつはそういうアレじゃ…」
Kaname: I-I said before that it’s not like that between us...!

テッサ
「ふふ…」
Tessa: Heh heh...

「この世界に来るのも、もうこれで3回目だな。
キラの奴、元気でやってるかな」
Hyoma: This is the third time we’ve come to this world, isn’t it? I hope Kira’s doing okay.

「かなめと宗介もね。学校に戻るって聞いてたけど」
Chizuru: I hope so for Kaname and Sousuke too. Though I think that they would have started going back to school by now.

凱
「その二人は今、デ・ダナンにいる」
Guy: Those two are at the Danaan right now, actually.

ちずる
「じゃあ、また何か事件が…」
Chizuru: Then I guess something else must have happened...

凱
「いや、かなめはデ・ダナンの
進水一周年パーティに招待されていたらしい」
Guy: Nothing like that. Apparently, Kaname had been invited to celebrate the Danaan’s very first birthday party.

宙
「あの潜水艦、
完成してから1年しか経ってなかったのか」
Hiroshi: So it’s only been a year since that submarine was completed then.

凱
「パーティは事情があって延期されてるそうだが」
Guy: But it seems the party’s been postponed due to certain circumstances.

アスカ
「この世界も色々ときな臭いってのに
パーティをやるなんて呑気ね」
Asuka: Their world’s chalk full of conflicts just waiting to happen and those guys are just throwing a party, huh.

凱
「色々あるからこそ、じゃないか?
任務、任務じゃ息が詰まってしまうぜ」
Guy: It’s because there’s so much going on that they’re having it, don’t you think? If all you do is work, work, and work then you’ll run yourself ragged.

チャム
「だったら、あたしも行きたいな、パーティ」
Cham: I wanna go to the party too!

シルキー
「同感。
ずっとピリピリしてるんだもの、この艦」
Silkie: Me too. I feel so on edge stuck in this ship all the time.

凱
「じゃあ、俺から上に進言してみようか。
状況が許せばの話になるだろうけど」
Guy: Alright, then I’ll recommend we go to our superiors. Assuming the situation gives us the opportunity, of course.

チャム
「やったぁ!」
Cham: Heck yeah!

ちずる
「もし、ダナンに行けるんだったら、
テスタロッサ大佐ご自慢のお風呂に入りたいわ」
Chizuru: If we go to the Danaan, we might be able to enjoy the bath Captain Testarossa’s always so proud of.

「いいわね、それ」
Megumi: Oh, that sounds nice.

「私も行ってみたいわ」
Four: Count me in too.

「アスカもどう?」
Chizuru: What about you, Asuka?

アスカ
「私は別に…」
Asuka: That’s not really my thing...

「そんなこと言わないで、付き合いなさいよ。
チャムとシルキーもね」
Chizuru: Oh don’t be like that, you should socialize some more. Like Cham and Silkie.

「うん!」
Cham: Right!

シルキー
「行く、行く!」
Silkie: Come on, come on!

「じゃあ、俺も…」
Hyoma: Well, then I’ll also--

アスカ
「あんたが洗うのは身体じゃなくて、お皿でしょ!」
Asuka: You’re washing dishes, not bodies!

豹馬
「うっ…。
それを言われたら、ちずるだってそうじゃねえか」
Hyoma: Ah... But if you’re gonna say that, then Chizuru shouldn’t go either.

「まあ、そうだけど…
アスカも行きましょうよ。
たまには女子だけで、ね?」
Chizuru: Well, I suppose so... But Asuka, you should still go anyways. It’s nice to have a little girl time, isn’t it?

「みんなで一緒に…って、いかにも日本人的な発想ね。
私は一人でだって…」
Asuka: Getting in a bath together, huh... Yeah, that’s a very Japanese way of thinking alright. I’d rather just go in by myself...

「ねえ、行こうよ!
こんなチャンス、滅多にないんだから!」
Cham: Come on, let’s do it! A chance like this doesn’t come around often, you know!

アスカ
「…そうね。
しょうがない、付き合ってあげるわよ」
Asuka: ...I guess not. Fine, I’ll go with you, since you’re practically begging me.

「…凱、上との交渉に失敗したら
女子から総スカンを食らいかねないぜ?」
Hiroshi: ...Guy, you’re aware that the girls are going to tear you apart if you don’t get Bright and the others to agree to this, aren’t you?

凱
「そうだな、肝に銘じておくよ」
Guy: Yes, that’s definitely something I’ll need to keep in mind.

Kaname: You don’t look too good. What’s up?

宗介
「どうもしていない。
今は航行中だ。自分の部屋に戻っていた方がいい」
Sousuke: Nothing’s up. We’re currently en route. It’d be best if you were to return to your quarters.

かなめ
「もしかして、さっきの戦闘のことを気にしてるの?」
Kaname: Are you still thinking about the battle from before?

宗介
「…!」
Sousuke: ...!

かなめ
「クルツ君から聞かせてもらったけど、
誰かが死んだりしたわけじゃないんでしょ?
マオさんだって大したことなかったみたいだし…」
Kaname: I heard about it from Kurz, but, it’s not like anyone died, right? Mao’s not even seriously injured or anything...

宗介
「気安く言わないでくれ」
Sousuke: You have no idea what you’re talking about.

かなめ
「そんなつもりじゃ…」
Kaname: I didn’t mean it like...

宗介
「一歩間違えば、誰かが死んでいたかも知れない…
俺とあのASのせいで」
Sousuke: One more mistake and I could have easily gotten her killed because of me and that stupid AS.

かなめ
「ASって、アーバレストのこと?」
Kaname: By “AS”, do you mean the Arbalest?

宗介
「あの装置、ラムダ・ドライバを使いこなせなかった…
精神を増幅だの、イメージだのとわけがわからん」
Sousuke: I wasn’t able to use the Lambda Driver again... I just can’t comprehend this “enhanced mentality” and “images” nonsense.

宗介
「そんな曖昧な代物は兵器ではない。
ただのまじないだ。あれを作った奴は
最低の技術者だ」
Sousuke: Something that unstable isn’t a weapon. It’s a curse. And whoever designed it couldn’t be a worse engineer.

かなめ
「…少し休んだら?疲れてるんだよ、きっと」
Kaname: ...Why don’t you get some rest? You must be totally exhausted.

宗介
「俺は疲れてなどいない」
Sousuke: I’m not tired.

かなめ
「でも、ちょっとソースケらしくないと思う」
Kaname: But, you’re not like your usual self.

宗介
「君に俺の何がわかる…!」
Sousuke: And just what do you even know about me...!?

かなめ
「…!」
Kaname: ...!

宗介
「軽々しく、らしいなどと言わないでくれ。
俺はただの傭兵だ。普通の任務を普通の装備で
こなしていれば良かったんだ」
Sousuke: How can you sit there and say I’m not being myself? I’m a mercenary. I should have been doing regular work using standard issue equipment.

宗介
「だが、君を助けたハンカ自治州の事件から、
あのAS、並行世界への転移、君の護衛、
厄介事が舞い込みっぱなしだ…」
Sousuke: But ever since I rescue you during the incident in the Hanka Region I’ve had nothing but bad luck. That AS, going to all those parallel worlds, guarding you... It’s been one problem after another...

「あたしの護衛もって…
だ、だったら、さっさとやめちゃえばいいじゃない!
あたしだって、別にあんたに頼んだわけじゃないわよ!」
Kaname: Guarding me is... W-Well I never asked for someone watching over me 24/7! If it’s too much trouble, then just quit!

宗介
「だが、任務だ。やめるわけにはいかない」
Sousuke: It’s my job. I can’t quit.

かなめ
「何よ、それ?任務って、そんなの…
じゃあ、もういいわよ!」
Kaname: Your “job”? What the hell...! Whatever, forget it!

(Kaname starts to leave.)

宗介
「待て。君の移動が許可されている区域は…」
Sousuke: Wait. There are certain areas you aren’t allowed--

かなめ
「あんたに言われなくてもわかってるわよ!」
Kaname: I don’t need you to tell me that!

(Kaname leaves.)

宗介
「………」
Sousuke: ...

宗介
(俺は何をやっている?
民間人の千鳥に、何故、あんなことを…。
俺は…)
Sousuke: (What the hell am I doing? Chidori’s a civilian, so why am I... I...)

Gauron: ...

ダニガン
「相変わらずだんまりか」
Danigan: Still keeping quiet, huh.

リャン
「ふああああ…」
Lian: *yawn* Haaaaa...

ダニガン
「リャン、気を抜くなよ」
Danigan: Don’t let your guard down, Lian.

リャン
「ですがねえ、せっかくのパーティも
延期になってしまいましたし…」
Lian: I know, but the party got postponed...

リャン
「それに、たとえ雑技団だって、
あの状態から縄抜けするのは無理ですよ」
Lian: Besides, just look at him. Even Houdini’s not getting out of here.

ダニガン
「あらゆる危険性に備えるのが我々の仕事だ。
例えば、こんなのはどうだ?」
Danigan: Our duty is to be on guard for all possible dangers. Something like this for example.

(Danigan points his gun at Lian.)

リャン
「え?」
Lian: Huh?

(Danigan shoots Lian and releases Gauron.)

ガウルン
「ふう…このまま放っておかれるかと思った」
Gauron: Phew... I almost thought you were gonna leave me hanging there.

ダニガン
「そうしようとも考えたがな。
さっきの作戦で決心がついた。ここは駄目だ。
甘ちゃん揃いで話にならん」
Danigan: The thought had crossed my mind. But the last mission made my decision for me. It’s no good here. All the guys here are a bunch of pushovers.

ガウルン
「とにかく感謝だ。ミスター…」
Gauron: Well anyways, thank you, Mister, uh...

ダニガン
「ダニガンだ。ジョン・ダニガン」
Danigan: It’s Danigan. John Danigan.

ガウルン
「よろしく、ジョン」
Gauron: Nice to meet you, John.

ダニガン
「気安く呼ぶな!
俺をジョンと呼んでいい人間は限られている」
Danigan: Don’t call me that! I only let a few people call me John.

ガウルン
「ハッハー!
そんな態度じゃ困るねえ、ジョン!」
Gauron: Haha! You’ve got some pretty terrible manners, John!

(Gauron floors Danigan and takes his gun.)

ダニガン
「ぐっ…!」
Danigan: Ugh...!

ガウルン
「困るな…まだ自分の立場がわかってないみたいだ。
今度はあんたが、そこに倒れている奴みたいに
なってみるかい?」
Gauron: Really terrible manners... I don’t think you quite understand your position here. Now do you want to be the next guy that drops dead here?

ダニガン
「わ、悪かった!
もうあんたを困らせたりしない!」
Danigan: I-I understand! I won’t cause you any trouble again!

ガウルン
「そうそう、そうやって
最初から素直に従ってくれればいいんだよ、
ジョン」
Gauron: Well that’s just dandy. See, you really should have just listened to me from the beginning, John.

ガウルン
「さーて、残念がっているクルーの諸君に、
サプライズ・パーティを開いてやるとするか…!」
Gauron: Now then, I say we throw a surprise party for all these poor heartbroken crewmates...!

「発令所はこの先だ。艦長もいる」
Danigan: The command room’s just up ahead. The Captain should be there too.

マッカラン
「ダニガン、どこへ行く気だ?」
McAllen: Where are you going, Danigan?

ダニガン
「…!」
Danigan: ...!

マッカラン
「カリーニン少佐が内通者の可能性にも
用心しろと仰っていたが…
まさか、[SRT]要員の貴様だったとは!」
McAllen: Lieutenant Commander Kalinin warned us that there could be a spy... But I never thought they’d be [SRT] personnel!

ガウルン
「やれやれ、早くもバレちまうとはね」
Gauron: Good grief, not two steps out of the cell and you already found me.

マッカラン
「二人共、両手を上に上げて、
そのまま元いた部屋に戻れ。
従わなければ…」
McAllen: Both of you, hands up and march straight back to your cell. If you do not comply--

(Kaname approaches.)

かなめ
「え?これって…」
Kaname: Huh? What’s going on...?

マッカラン
「君は…!」
McAllen: You...!

ガウルン
「ジョン、あの女を殺せ」
Gauron: John, kill the girl.

ダニガン
「了解」
Danigan: Roger.

マッカラン
「いかん…!危ない!」
McAllen: No...! Watch out!

(McAllen takes the bullet for Kaname.)

マッカラン
「ぐっ…!」
McAllen: Agh...!

かなめ
「へ、兵隊さん!」
Kaname: M-Mister Soldier!

マッカラン
「早く…逃げ…!」
McAllen: Hurry... Run...!

ガウルン
「残念、当たり所が悪かったようだな。
今、楽にしてあげよう」
Gauron: Well that’s a shame. Must have missed the good spots. Here, I’ll make the pain go away.

(Gauron shoots McAllen.)

「あ、嘘…嘘でしょ…!?」
Kaname: Th...This can’t be real, right...!?

ダニガン
「騒がれると面倒だ。このまま始末する」
Danigan: This one’s just going to cause us trouble. I’ll deal with her.

ガウルン
「フフフ…まあ、待て。さっきのはブラフだ。
優しい優しいミスリルの隊員なら、
咄嗟に動いてくれると思ってね」
Gauron: Heh heh heh... Nah, that’s enough. It’s all part of the plan. I figured a good old Mithril man would react quick enough to get himself killed.

ダニガン
「生かしておく価値があると?」
Danigan: There some reason to keep her alive?

ガウルン
「ああ、その子はちょっと特殊でな。
上から殺すなと言われてる。
なるべくだけどな」
Gauron: Yeah, that girl’s special. My superiors don’t want her killed. Well, not if I can help it anyways.

かなめ
「…!」
Kaname: ...!

ガウルン
「元気にしてたか、カナメちゃん?
ここで出会ったついでに、ちょっとばかし
役に立ってもらえるかな」
Gauron: You doing okay there, Miss Kaname? Since we just so happen to bump into each other here, I’ll be sure to take real good care of you.

「どーも、ミスリルの皆さん、
楽しいパーティを始めますよー!」
Gauron: Good evening, fine people of Mithril! I think it’s time to start the party!

かなめ
「テッサ…」
Kaname: Tessa...

テッサ
「カナメさん…!?
それに、どうしてあの男が…!」
Tessa: Miss Chidori...!? Wait, what are you doing with him...!?

ダニガン
「SRTに欠員を出して悪いな、艦長。
ま、こういうことだ」
Danigan: Sorry to leave a vacant spot in the SRT, Captain. That’s just how it goes.

テッサ
(まさか、SRT要員に裏切り者がいるなんて…)
Tessa: (To think a member of SRT would be a turncoat...)

テッサ
(マッカラン大尉にもガウルンを見張らせていた。
それなのに、あの男がここにいるということは…)
Tessa: (I had Lieutenant McAllen keeping an eye on Gauron. If he’s not here, then that means...)

ガウルン
「フフフ、察したようだねえ、
可愛い可愛い艦長さん」
Gauron: Heh heh heh, looks like you figured it out, sweet little miss captain.

ガウルン
「だが、誘いに乗ってくれたのは、
そこにいるジョンだけではないのさ」
Gauron: But just so you know, John here wasn’t the only one that was gracious enough to accept my invitation.

テッサ
「えっ…?」
Tessa: Huh...?

ガウルン
「じゃーん。わかるかなあ、このディスク。
この艦の制御OSを俺専用に
書き換えてくれるんだぜ?」
Gauron: Lo and behold. See this disk right here? This will allow me to rewrite the ship’s OS for my own exclusive use.

テッサ
「ダーナを…!?どこでそれを!?」
Tessa: Dana will be...!? Where did you get that!?

(Gauron inserts the disk.)

ガウルン
「金が欲しい奴はどこにでもいる。

「…よし、AI君は無事書き換わったようだ。

Gauron: ...And with that, Miss AI has been successfully rewritten. This ship now belongs to me!

Tessa: No... It can’t be...!

Guy: The situation hasn’t been much better in this world either.

どうでしょう、艦長。デ・ダナン側の許可が出て、

Misato: Well, I say we take a break whenever we get the chance. What about you, Captain? If the Danaan allows it, and if the timing isn’t a problem then...

Bright: I don’t mind, just don’t get too carried away.

Guy: Thank you very much, Captain.

女の子達をがっかりさせずに済んで」
Misato: Lucky you, Guy. It’s a good thing you didn’t have to disappoint the girls.

何か起きれば、なくなってしまう話ですし」
Guy: I wouldn’t say that just yet. If something comes up then this might all fall through.

Torres: Captain, we’ve received a communication from the Danaan.

「わかった。繋いでくれ」
Bright: Understood. Put them through.

「了解」
Torres: Yes, sir.

ミサト
「ちょうど良かったじゃない。
艦長の話が終わったら、テスタロッサ大佐に
言ってみる?」
Misato: Excellent timing. Do you want to speak to Captain Testarossa once the Captain’s done?

「話をしてもいいようであれば…」
Guy: If it would be alright to speak with her, then--

(Gauron appears on the other line.)

Gauron: Yo. You Captain Bright Noa?

Guy: You’re...Gauron!

Gauron: Hmhm, I see you’ve done your homework.

「何故、お前がそこにいる?
テスタロッサ大佐はどうした?」
Bright: Why are you there? What happened to Captain Testarossa?

ガウルン
「今は俺がこの艦の艦長だ。
いわゆるシージャックって奴さ。だけど、安心しな。
元艦長とカナメちゃんもここにいるぜ」
Gauron: I’m the captain of this ship now. This is what you’d call a seajacking. Oh but don’t you worry. The former captain and Miss Kaname are here with me.

「そんな、デ・ダナンが…!」
Kei: Then the Danaan’s really been taken over...!

「デ・ダナンのクルーの大半は、
偽の火災訓練で艦前部の格納庫に閉じ込めた。
庫内の酸素濃度を最大にするおまけ付きでな」
Gauron: Most of the Danaan’s crew are locked up tight in the hanger on the front part of the ship, thanks to a made-up fire drill. And as a little bonus, I’m maximizing the oxygen concentration there too.

「そんなことをしたら酸素酔いで…!
それどころか、火花の一つで大惨事になるぞ!」
Benkei: But that will lead to oxygen poisoning...! No, even worse, if they make just one spark it’d spell disaster!

「何が目的だ?」
Bright: What is your objective?

ガウルン
「さあて、何だろうねえ?当ててみな」
Gauron: Dunno, what do you think? Take a guess.

ミサト
「退屈だったから…ではなさそうね」
Misato: Because you were bored...? No, I doubt it’s just that.

Gauron: Are you guys perhaps thinking you can take the Danaan back from me? Wanna give it a shot? It’s not gonna work, I’m afraid.

Bright: ...Are you attempting to provoke us?

「好きに考えればいいさ。
俺は、気ままに世界一周の旅にでも
出ようかと思ってんだが……」
Gauron: You can think whatever you want. As for me, I’m thinking of enjoying a relaxing world-wide tour...

「今は[ザフト]がカーペンタリアから撤退中だし、
運悪く出くわしちまうかも知れねえなあ。
デ・ダナンを守りたきゃ、しっかりついて来いよ」
Gauron: [ZAFT’s] pulling out of Carpentaria right about now, so we might just be unfortunate enough to run into them along the way. Wouldn’t that be a shame. If you wanna protect the Danaan, I’d recommend you stick real close to us.

(Gauron ends the transmission.)

Bright: Is that man planning to contact ZAFT? No, he must be bluffing.

Torres: Captain, we’ve received an encoded message. It appears to have come from the Danaan.

「それも罠かも知れん。充分に注意して解読しろ」
Bright: This could all be part of a trap. Take extra caution when decoding it.

Misato: The encrypted message we received after Gauron’s transmission came from Commander Mardukas, who is trapped in the hanger of the Danaan...

「マオ曹長、ウェーバー軍曹、相良軍曹の3名は
異常を察知して行動したため、デ・ダナンの
格納庫外にいることが判明したわ」
Misato: We’ve been told that Master Sergeant Mao, Sergeant Weber, and Sergeant Sagara realized something was amiss and are now outside the hanger.

ミサト
「ただ、現状では外部からの侵入が困難よ。
だから、マオ曹長達の働きに期待するしかないわね」
Misato: Unfortunately, we’d have a hard time trying to get into the Danaan ourselves as things are now. So all we can really do is pray that Master Sergeant Mao and her team can resolve the situation.

「何もせずに見ていろって言うんですか…!?
デ・ダナンの制御OSを書き換えられたんなら、
それを元に戻せばいいんじゃ…」
Koji: You’re telling us to just do nothing and watch...!? If the Danaan’s OS was overwritten, can’t we just change it back to what it was before...?

「外からの操作で、簡単に出来るとは思えないな。
だから、ガウルンはディスクを持ち込んだのよ」
Eunice: Not from the outside. It’d be next to impossible. That’s probably why Gauron brought that disk in.

「つまり、ダーナのガードの堅さが
裏目に出たってわけ」
Eunice: In other words, Dana’s tight defenses are acting against her now.

「ユニスや小介君、赤木博士達の知恵で
何とかならないんですかぁ?」
Maiko: Can’t Eunice, Kosuke, Dr. Akagi and all the others all put their heads together and figure something out?

「短時間で、って言うんなら、
ダーナの開発者でもない限り無理よ」
Eunice: Not on such short notice. Maybe if one of us was Dana’s developer it wouldn’t be too unreasonable, but that’s not the case here.

「何にせよ、デ・ダナンの追跡は続行するわ。
もし、ガウルンがザフトに攻撃を仕掛けた場合、
あの艦を守れるのは、今のところ私達だけだから」
Misato: In any case, we’ll be continuing our pursuit of the Danaan. If Gauron attacks ZAFT forces, then we’ll be the only ones that can protect that ship.

「ガウルンって奴は、どうかしてやがるぜ。
下手すりゃ、自分だっておしまいじゃねえか」
Duo: This Gauron guy’s freakin’ nuts. We handle this the wrong way and he’ll drag us down with him.

「何か考えがあるのか、それとも自分の生命すら
遊びに使うような男なのか…」
Kamille: Does he have some sort of objective, or is he just the kind of person that would gamble his own life for fun...?

Yunna: Both, I’m sure.

Hayato: As he’s a mercenary, he should have a client. We should have some time while he fulfills whatever mission he’s under contract for.

ガウルンの目的がデ・ダナンの撃沈や
乗組員の抹殺なら、既に事を終えている」
Heero: Yes. If Gauron’s goal was merely to sink the ship or kill the people on board, then he would have already done so.

「ラー・カイラムやプトレマイオスを沈める気なら、
黙って至近距離まで近付き、ミサイルや魚雷を
撃ち込めば済む話だしな」
Tetsuya: On top of that, if his objective was to bring down the Ra Cailum and the Ptolemaios, then all he’d have needed to do was keep quiet until he was at point-blank range and launch torpedoes at us.

Ryoma: There’s no point trying to figure out what that bastard’s got planned. We’ll never make heads or tails of it.

Hayato: Definitely.

Uzuki: Anyways, the first thing we have to do is guard the Danaan.

Misato: Right. However, there’s no denying the possibility that Gauron may attack us...

「海上の移動が可能で、デ・ダナンのUSMや
SLCMの標的にならない、もしくは耐えられる
機体で護衛部隊を編成するわ」
Misato: I’ll organize a team of units that are capable of moving above water and either won’t be targeted by the Danaan’s USMs and SLCMs or can otherwise withstand attacks from them.

「ユーエス…?何なんだ?」
Shion: US...what now?

アスカ
「あんた、そんなことも…って、
バイストン・ウェル人にわかるわけないわね。
要はミサイルよ、ミサイル」
Asuka: How can you not--Well, I guess you are from Byston Well. The short of it is that they’re missiles.

Shion: That was surprisingly considerate of you.

「な…何言ってんの。
物を知らないあんたを哀れに思っただけよ」
Asuka: I...I don’t know what you mean. I just felt sorry for you since you don’t know anything, that’s all.

「ともかく、今は宗介達に懸けるしかないか」
Show: Well for now, it looks like we’ll just have to rely on Sousuke and the others.

この不利な状況を覆せるんでしょうか…?」
Sakimi: But can just 3 people overturn a situation this disadvantageous...?

宗介の因縁の相手に捕まってんだ。

Akira: Kaname and his fated rival are both in the Danaan with him. He’ll find a way.

デ・ダナンが海中にいる以上、
簡単に手を出せないだろう」
Sousuke: However it isn’t feasible that we can reach them while the Danaan is submerged.

マオ
「この状況を打破できるかどうか、
あたし達の動きに懸かってるわ。
気合いを入れな」
Mao: It’s up to us to get through this. Look alive.

(A gunshot is heard.)

「聞こえたか!?」
Sousuke: Did you hear that!?

「ああ、銃声だな」
Kurz: Yeah, it was a gunshot.

「発令所の方からよ!」
Mao: Get to the command room, now!

カナメちゃんに何か望みでも託したか?」
Gauron: You shot at just the right time. Pretty good. Placing all your bets on Kaname, are you?

Tessa: ...

ガウルン
「ま、どうせすぐに捕まるだろうが、
俺はとても頭に来たよ、元艦長さん」
Gauron: Well, she’ll get caught sooner or later anyways. Except now, you’ve made me very angry, Miss Ex-Captain.

ガウルン
「だが、あんたはまだ殺さないでおく。
その代わり、こんなペナルティを思いついた」
Gauron: But I’m not gonna kill you just yet. Instead, I’ve thought up a penalty for your actions.

テッサ
「これ以上、何を…!」
Tessa: What else are you going to do...!?

ガウルン
「ちょうどザフトの連中がこの辺の海域を
彷徨いてるみたいだ。このまま艦を浮上させて、
攻撃を仕掛けてみようじゃないか」
Gauron: There should be some ZAFT forces hanging around these waters about now. We’re gonna head on up to the surface and take a couple shots at them.

テッサ
「そんなことをしたら、
報復を受けてあなたも死にますよ!
自殺行為です!」
Tessa: If you do that, then you’ll die along with us when they retaliate! It’s suicide!

ガウルン
「ハッ、世界一豪勢な自殺じゃないか。
何せ、数十億ドルの艦が道連れだ。
俺はそういうの嫌いじゃないぜ?」
Gauron: Heh, the most expensive suicide in the world. I’m gonna die with a multi-billion dollar submarine. I rather like it.

Gauron: Alright, prep the harpoon missiles for launch.

(Scene begins on a map screen of the ocean and some islands. Gauron is on the map in the Danaan. Several ZAFT soldiers are also on the map in GINNs.)

「さて、ザフトの連中に俺達の存在を
しっかりとアピールしてやらないとなあ?」
Gauron: Now then, let’s show off a little and make sure ZAFT knows we’re here, shall we?

テッサ
「止めなさい…!」
Tessa: Stop this now...!

ガウルン
「艦長は俺だって言ってるだろ?
ハープーンミサイル1番、2番、発射」
Gauron: I believe I told you I’m the captain here, didn’t I? Harpoon missiles 1 and 2, fire.

(Two of the GINNs are destroyed.)

「何だ!?どこからの攻撃だ!?」
ZAFT Soldier: What was that!? Where’d that attack come from!?

ザフト兵
「0時方向、海中からです!」
ZAFT Soldier 2: Straight ahead, in the sea!

「なら、潜水艦か!反撃するぞ!」
ZAFT Soldier 3: It must be a submarine! Return fire!

「奴らめ、いつの間に!?」
ZAFT Soldier 2: When did they get here!?

「GN粒子のおかげで、上手く接近できたな」
Devilman: We were able to stay pretty close thanks to the GN Particles.

「だが、ここまでだ。
これより、デ・ダナンを防衛する」
Setsuna: But not anymore. Now we defend the Danaan.

ザフト兵
「異世界の連中は海中からの攻撃を受けていない…!
もしや、下にいる潜水艦は!」
ZAFT Soldier 3: The otherworlders aren’t being attacked from under water...! The submarine must be with them!

ガウルン
「いいね、盛り上がって来たぜ。
せいぜい連中には頑張ってもらうとするか」
Gauron: Nice, looks like things are kicking off. Time to sit back and watch them give it their all.

テッサ
(一刻も早くこの男から艦を取り戻さなければ…。
お願い、カナメさん…)
Tessa: (I have to take the ship back from this vile man as soon as possible... Kaname, please...!)

「一方的過ぎて、面白みに欠けてきたな。
もうちょっと盛り上げてみようか」
Gauron: This is a bit too one-sided for my liking. It’s getting boring. Time to liven things up a bit.

(Gauron fires on Setsuna and Devilman.)

Setsuna: Ugh...!

「案の定、こっちにも撃って来やがったか!」
Devilman: It was only a matter of time until he started firing at us too!

「どうなっている!?
奴らは味方同士のはずだぞ!」
ZAFT Soldier: What’s going on!? I thought they were allies!

「デ・ダナンの妨害は想定内だ。
このまま作戦を続行する」
Setsuna: Interference from the Danaan is within mission parameters. Continuing operation.

「俺達でザフトの連中を引き付けりゃ、
宗介達も事を進め易くなるか…!」
Devilman: If we can keep the ZAFT forces preoccupied, that should make things easier on Sousuke and the others...!

Kaname: It looks like an older model than the one on the Arbalest. It’s not connected to any Lambda Driver, but to the ship’s control system itself.

Sousuke: What are you...?

「何となくわかった。

Kaname: I think I’m starting to get it. Hah... Now I see.

中に入って、どうする気だ…?」
Sousuke: Chidori? What are you doing getting inside of it...?

Kaname: Thank you, Mister Sagara.

Tessa: Don’t you get it? It means that Dana doesn’t trust you enough to let you keep control of the ship.

ガウルン
「俺を撃ったら、この女が死ぬぜ?」
Gauron: You shoot me, and the girl dies.

「くっ…!」
Kurz: Ngh...!

テッサ
「構わず撃ちなさい!早く!」
Tessa: Don’t be afraid to shoot! Do it!

(The screen shakes.)

「何だ、この揺れは!?」
Kurz: The hell’s this shaking for!?

(Gauron runs off.)

「待ちな、クルツ!
拘束されたクルーの解放が先だよ」
Mao: Wait, Kurz! We have to release the captive crewmates first!

今、この艦は無防備な状態だからね。
後はソースケに任せるよ」
Mao: Tessa may be safe now, but our ship’s defenseless like this. We’ll have to let Sousuke handle it from here.

(先程の揺れ、カナメさんが助けてくれたのね。

Tessa: (That shaking from before must have been Kaname’s help. We should be okay from now on.)

Bright: ...We’re caught up on the situation now. What do you plan to do about Gauron now that he’s taken back his AS?

まもなく、彼女が異物を放り出します」
Tessa: Don’t worry. She’ll expel him before long.

ブライト
「彼女…?」
Bright: “She”...?

テッサ
「ええ、今のトゥアハー・デ・ダナンは
チドリ・カナメさんそのものですから」
Tessa: Yes. In this moment, the Tuatha de Danaan and Kaname Chidori are one and the same.


(Scene changes to the previous map screen. Gauron is on the map in his AS.)

「おい、見ろ!
デ・ダナンからASが出て来たぞ!」
Devilman: Hey, look! An AS came out of the Danaan!

「ガウルンの機体だな」
Setsuna: That’s Gauron’s machine.

ガウルン
「チッ、外に放り出されたか!
あの艦、どうなっていやがる!?」
Gauron: Tch, it went and tossed me outside! What the hell’s going on with that ship!?

(Sousuke appears.)

宗介
「逃がしはしないぞ、ガウルン!」
Sousuke: There’s no escape, Gauron!

ガウルン
「ダナンを奪ってイケイケの状態から一転、
大ピンチって奴だな。ラムダ・ドライバの性能だけで
どこまでやれることやら」
Gauron: You really turned things around on me after I took the Danaan. That was a pretty big crisis you overcame. Now I’ll just have to see how far I can make it with only the Lambda Driver’s abilities.

ガウルン
「だが、ここにいる連中を皆殺しにすれば、大逆転だ。
最高に面白いと思わないか、カシム?」
Gauron: But you know, if I just massacre every last one of you here, that’ll be an even bigger turnaround. Doesn’t that sound like the best way to end this, Kashim?

宗介
「戯言に付き合うつもりはない。
貴様はここで終わりだ!」
Sousuke: I’m done listening to your nonsense. You die here!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Sousuke battles Gauron.)

「あー、楽しい!
本当に楽しいよなあ、ハニー?」
Gauron: Oh, I’m loving this! Isn’t this so much fun, honey?

「戯れ言に付き合うつもりはないと言ったぞ!」
Sousuke: I told you I’m not listening to anymore of your sick jokes!

(Battle 2 ends when Gauron is defeated.)

「貴様の負けだ、ガウルン」
Sousuke: You’ve lost, Gauron.

ガウルン
「どうやら…そのようだな」
Gauron: Yeah... Looks that way.

デビルマン
「自爆するなら、今の内だぜ?」
Devilman: For the record, it’s still not too late for you to blow yourself up if you want.

ガウルン
「それでカシムと心中…でも良かったが、
邪魔が多過ぎるな。残念だぜ」
Gauron: I’d be all for a lover’s suicide with Kashim... But I don’t see it happening with all of you around. A shame.

ガウルン
「先に地獄に行って待ってる。
愛してるぜぇ、カシム…!」
Gauron: I’ll save you a spot in hell though. Love ya, Kashim...!

俺達の世界なら、速攻でデーモンに
取り憑かれそうな奴だったぜ」
Devilman: So he’s finally kicked the bucket. That guy would have been possessed by a Demon in 0 seconds flat if he were in our world.

Sousuke: Kashim... He kept calling me Kashim...

デビルマン
「ん?」
Devilman: Hm?

宗介
「馴れ馴れしいんだよ!
クソ野郎おおおおっ!!」
Sousuke: We’re not friends, dammit! YOU SHITHEAAAAD!!

「サ、サガラさん…!?」
Tessa: M-Mister Sagara...!?
