  1. Maverick Sideboarding:
  2.
  3. Grixis Delver - Play
  4. In: +1 Toxic Deluge, +2 Zealous Persecution, +1 Abrupt Decay
  5. Out: 1 Tireless Tracker, 1 Sylvan Library, 1 Gaddock Teeg, 1 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
  6. Notes: Cut Qasali Pridemage instead of Thalia if you know opponent doesn't have targets you care about. Tireless Tracker is just a bit too slow in this matchup, and Sylvan Library isn't where we want to be on the play. Teeg gets cut as usual in matchups where he doesn't do anything.
  7.
  8. Grixis Delver - Draw
  9. In: +1 Toxic Deluge, +2 Zealous Persecution, +2 Abrupt Decay
  10. Out: 1 Tireless Tracker, 3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 1 Gaddock Teeg
  11. Notes: This matchup is all about removal on the draw and Thalia messes with your own ability to cast it. Sylvan Library is better on the draw because it helps you find kill spells.
  12.
  13. Czech Pile
  14. In: 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin, 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Toxic Deluge, 3 Thoughtseize
  15. Out: 1 Gaddock Teeg, 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Maze of Ith, 2 Swords to Plowshares, 1 Scryb Ranger
  16. Notes: Cutting Jitte in order to avoid Kolaghan's Command blowouts.
  17.
  18. Miracles
  19. In: 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 2 Abrupt Decay, 2 Surgical Extraction, 1 Reclamation Sage, 3 Thoughtseize
  20. Out: 4 Swords to Plowshares, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Gaea's Cradle, 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Scryb Ranger
  21. Notes: One of the few fair matchups where I think it's correct to bring in Surgical Extraction. Your plan is to surgical either Swords to Plowshares or Terminus, since removing either one makes it easy to set up a board state they can't really answer. Ideally you want to surgical Plow and stick a Gaddock Teeg, which essentially just ends the game. Do not target anything else unless you absolutely have to.
  22.
  23. Sneak and Show
  24. In: 4 Thoughtseize, 2 Surgical Extraction, 1 Ethersworn Canonist, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 1 Reclamation Sage, 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin
  25. Out: 4 Swords to Plowshares, 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Scryb Ranger, 1 Shalai, Voice of Plenty, 1 Will to Live
  26. Notes: Basically none of your cards do anything so you bring in everything that has some semblance of an effect. Remember to play around Blood Moon whenever possible in this matchup, as they will bring it in. Your best chance in this matchup is to hope your opponent dies of a sudden heart attack halfway through game two after you inevitably lose game one.
  27.
  28. Red Prison
  29. In: 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Reclamation Sage, 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
  30. Out: 1 Gaea's Cradle, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Scavenging Ooze, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Swords to Plowshares, 4 Thoughtseize
  31. Notes: Mulligan most hands without basic forest or a green fetch. Some argument for bringing in Thoughtseize here, needs more testing.
  32.
  33. ANT
  34. In: 4 Thoughtseize, 2 Surgical Extraction, 1 Ethersworn Canonist, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 2 Zealous Persecution
  35. Out: 4 Swords to Plowshares, 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Qasali Pridemage, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Tireless Tracker, 1 Ramunap Excavator
  36. Notes: Remember that you can often play around Massacre using dorks or Scryb Ranger. It's not a common sideboard card anymore, but it's still worth playing around as it beats us extremely effectively.
  37.
  38. Elves
  39. In: 2 Zealous Persecution, 1 Toxic Deluge, 1 Ethersworn Canonist, 3 Thoughtseize
  40. Out: 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 1 Scavenging Ooze, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Maze of Ith
  41. Notes: Don't keep the "fair hand", you know it won't get there.
  42.
  43. Depths
  44. In: 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Reclamation Sage, Kaya, Ghost Assassin
  45. Out: 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Gaddock Teeg, 1 Scavenging Ooze
  46. Notes: Surgical Extraction is tempting, but in general if you can answer one Marit Lage in this matchup you can answer them all. Abrupt Decay kills Pithing Needle and is good against the fair sideboard cards.
  47.
  48. RB Reanimator
  49. In: 2 Surgical Extraction, 4 Thoughtseize, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 1 Ethersworn Canonist
  50. Out: 2 Jitte, 2 Shalai, Voice of Plenty, 1 Gaddock Teeg, 1 Qasali Pridemage, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Tireless Tracker
  51. Notes: They are very fast, so you'll generally want to leave Deathrite Shaman up on turn two instead of playing a threat if your hand allows for that. Cut slow grindy cards as usual.
  52.
  53. Death and Taxes
  54. In: 2 Zealous Persecution, 1 Toxic Deluge, 1 Reclamation Sage, 2 Abrupt Decay
  55. Out: 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 1 Gaddock Teeg, 1 Scavenging Ooze
  56. Notes: If you have Swords to Plowshares and they have a vial on 1, don't tap out and let them get Mom active. Past that, if you can answer their equipments you can out-grind them very easily. The main way they win this matchup is by having a fast disruptive draw, so don't keep hands that lose easily to a few pieces of removal and land destruction. Essentially always fetch basics first in this matchup.
  57.
  58. Eldrazi
  59. In: 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Toxic Deluge, 1 Reclamation Sage, 4 Thoughtseize
  60. Out: 4 Mother of Runes, 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
  61. Notes: You want to make a big knight to block and then wasteland them out of the game.
  62.
  63. Burn
  64. In: 1 Ethersworn Canonist, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin, 1 Reclamation Sage, 1 Abrupt Decay
  65. Out: 1 Sylvan Library, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Tireless Tracker, 1 Ramunap Excavator, 1 Horizon Canopy
  66. Notes: PLAY AROUND PRICE OF PROGRESS! Holding up wasteland to use on yourself is definitely worth it a lot of the time. Also remember that you can activate Wasteland targeting itself if necessary.
  67.
  68. Junk Maverick
  69. In: 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Toxic Deluge, 1 Kaya, Ghost Assassin, 1 Zealous Persecution
  70. Out: 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 1 Gaddock Teeg
  71. Notes: Similar to Death and Taxes except that Scavenging Ooze is actually good here, and Planeswalkers are better against a deck without a bunch of fliers and revokers.
  72.
  73. Punishing Maverick
  74. In: 2 Abrupt Decay, 1 Toxic Deluge, 2 Zealous Persecution
  75. Out: 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 1 Gaddock Teeg
  76. Notes: Same as regular Maverick except that planeswalkers are bad against Punishing Fire so we bring in the second Zealous Persecution instead.
  77.
  78. Lands
  79. In: 2 Surgical Extraction, 1 Sanctum Prelate, 2 Abrupt Decay
  80. Out: 1 Gaddock Teeg, 2 Umezawa's Jitte, 1 Maze of Ith, 1 Shalai, Voice of Plenty
  81. Notes: They will play around Surgical if they know what they're doing, so don't get baited into trying to Surgical into an obvious Tranquil Thicket. Ramunap Excavator basically just wins this matchup if you can protect it.
