  1. Entrance to the putrefied glen. <--NOTE: wrong spot LOL
  2. The shadows violently writhe and twist along the ground here, indicating a war shrine of Nocht nearby. A strong breeze whistles over the ground. A stone bridge to the southeast provides entry into this dark area of the forest. A dark mist pervades the air, brushing close between the plants and swirling past anything that disturbs the stillness. What look like willow trees at first glance are actually dead trunks and branches, draped with hanging vines. Water drips from these tendrils, and slime coats their surface. The trees themselves are black, although they bear no sign of having been burnt. A sense of disquiet pervades the air - perhaps the smell of rot, the damp air or just the uneasy stillness of this dank glade. Glaring about the area suspiciously, Brultk Thornblood paces back and forth here. Split down the middle, a ravenwood sapling has been crushed here. A mature hemlock tree stands proudly here. A golden stocking has been hung here. Casting darkness all around, a shadow totem thrusts up from the ground, chilling the air. Mushrooms are growing here in a perfect circle. Surrounded by an aura of brilliant hues and searing heat, Ankaa perches here on one leg. With murderous amber eyes, a slender wyvern with delicate butterfly wings prowls around here. Blade Betwixt Ebon Veils, Alary al-Saaoud, the Arch of Mages shifts and blurs, their figure cast into uncertainty by the enveloping Presence that lingers large, unseen, and heavy about their form. They wield a mercurial ivory staff streaked with scarlet in their left hand and a black rose-shaped wand in their right hand. Kihr is here. Kalaneya Shee-Slaugh, Ma'lanas Runia is here. She wields spectral psiblade claws in each hand. Visionary Esei of the Ascending Dusk floats here, suffusing the air with the sickly-sweet scent of blackthorn blossoms. They wield an athame dagger of dusk in their left hand.
  3. You see exits leading north, northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest.
  4.
  5. Long neck cocked to the side and cold eyes spinning wildly, Ankaa leans towards you and opens his beak, an outpouring of ancient tongues replacing speech briefly, until he takes notice and straightens his head, nodding at you as if nothing had occured.

  53.
  54. Faintly buzzing, you say, "Ah - At!"
  55.
  56. Before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
  57. The dark heart of Glomdoring Forest is almost audibly beating in this, its shadowy centre. Tall, blackened trees surround this clearing, pressing together into an imposing barrier of rotten vegetation. Moulds and fungi are smeared across the plants, their pungent stench suffusing the forest. The branches are coated in dark slime, slick tendrils that hang downwards. Although a variety of trees might actually grow here, the black tar that coats them renders them indistinguishable. A thin black mist creeps between the trees, hanging low across the ground. The floor of the clearing itself is simply bare earth, cracked and dry. Overshadowing all is the Master Ravenwood Tree itself, jutting into the sky like a twisted fist. The sound of laughing crows echoes down from the treetops, a harsh sound for the ears below. The atmosphere vibrates with a palpable power. Brennan Stormcrow paces here, his cadaverous body twitching with sudden jerks. The Master Ravenwood Tree towers over everything here, pulsing with an immeasurable yet dark power.
  58. You see a single exit leading north.
  59.
  60. You yell, "Many apologies - please gather AT the Master Ravenwood for ceremony."
  61.
  62. You yell, "Can teleport to myself should need to! 1337's the place!"
  63.
  64. "Ok!" Tsakali exclaims.
  65.
  66. You beam broadly.
  67.
  68. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Esei, "What, you weren't aware that Norra was supposed to wear a ballgown?"

  80.

  106.

  158.
  159. Rancoura tells you, "Call for silence then, please, and inform me when it is so?"
  160.
  161. Loudly over the gathered din, you say, "May ask that all please be very very very VERY very quiet, please!"
  162.
  163. You chirp happily.
  164.
  165. "Shh!" you say, putting a finger to your lips.
  166.
  167. You have emoted: Gurashi looks this way, then that... then nods.
  168.
  169. Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel, "Is so."
  170.
  171. As Feoragan releases a bewitching wyrden rose lantern into the air, it slowly floats upon the breeze, drifting upward. <-- *internal screaming*
  172.
  173. Brennan Stormcrow cocks his head to one side, looking Rancoura over with an appraising stare.
  174.
  175. Hauntingly beautiful with its petals glowing in shades reminiscent of true shadowfire, a bewitching wyrden rose lantern drifts languidly upwards through the skies.
  176.
  177. Feoragan peers about himself unscrupulously.
  178.
  179. Rancoura sweeps forward in silence, reverently bearing a bundle of long, unlit torches in her arms. Thin argent chains glint from the aphotic, silken skirt upon her hips and the anklet revealed by her steps, a silver-streaked black scarf winding around her waist.
  180.
  181. Tsakali rolls their eyes at Feoragan.
  182.
  183. As Esri releases a bewitching wyrden rose lantern into the air, it slowly floats upon the breeze, drifting upward.
  184.
  185. As a bewitching wyrden rose lantern drifts away, it grows smaller and smaller on the horizon until you see naught but a speck of light floating in the distance.
  186.
  187. (The Shadow Kindred): You say, "Stop."
  188. (The Shadow Kindred): You say, "Do not release your lanterns lol."
  189. (The Shadow Kindred): Feoragan says, "Oh my god."
  190.
  191. A halter blouse reveals the pale flesh of her abdomen, strong yet smooth; every inch of her indigo-brushed skin is covered in violet-painted runes and symbols, and Rancoura moves with a smooth grace despite the burdens she carries.
  192.
  193. Casting a jewel-toned lazuline gaze around for a moment before selecting a clearing amongst the crowd, Rancoura solemnly drives a torch into the ground at each of the four cardinal directions, twisting the ravenwood poles as she drives their sharp points into the loam, the earth firmly packed by centuries of movement beneath the boughs of the Master Ravenwood. She leaves the torches unlit, disappearing into the darkness beneath the roots of the towering Tree.
  194.
  195. As she emerges a moment later, the Wyrden Haruspex grasps a verdant branch of hemlock in each hand, the brush-like leaves of the evergreen hued a deep emerald. With swirling movements, Rancoura sweeps the boughs along the ground, brushing over the organic debris upon the forest's floor.
  196.
  197. A stream of whispered prayers flow from Rancoura's pale lips as she circles the perimeter set by the standing torches, the names of Night, Crow, Idols, Shadowbeat and Dark Spirits amongst her invocations. Once the circle is complete, the Haruspex continues the trail towards its centre, setting the branches to rest at her feet.
  198.
  199. Extending open palms at her sides, Rancoura's eyes flutter closed as she concludes her whispered communion, form stilling save for the immense, shadow-spun wings expanding slowly at her back. Unfurling like a cloak, their ethereal adumbration shifts and stirs in the wan breeze.
  200.
  201. Suddenly, Rancoura snaps her fingers, and the torches flare to life with purple and black shadowflame.
  202.
  203. The Haruspex's eyes slowly open, the last blue streaks seeping out as her irises shift into shades of violet, shadows of the same ebon and mauve flames flickering within their depths. "Welcome, Wyrdenkin, and those who come from beyond," Rancoura breathes, words a steady cadence that resonates amongst the dusky trees.
  204.
  205. With a steady, melodic flow, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel whispers, "As the Solstice draws near, The Glomdoring's borders are open to you, but beware: the Heart of Darkness lives, and it breathes, and it seeks."
  206.
  207. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel whispers, "Tread carefully through our woods, for the Wyrd fears not death. Death is but a new beginning, and the rhythm of the Shadowbeat paces the journey of Rebirth."
  208.
  209. Rancoura gracefully bends to unwind a series of long strips of dark cloth from the handles of the hemlock boughs, arranging them in her grasp in a tassel-like array. The material is dusted with a curious, pale powder, already leaving thin clouds of particles in the air as the Haruspex organizes them.
  210.
  211. Rising to the balls of her feet, Rancoura crosses her wrists high above her head and arches her slender form. "We dance these steps, in peace and war," she continues, her voice silken. "The storm crescendos as it ruins, the snows ferry death as they fall; yet new life thrums as it abates, awaiting the time of its emergence."
  212.
  213. Lifting her head, Ilistala looks at Snald hopefully.
  214.
  215. Drawing a breath, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel whispers, "So does the Solstice portend; and this Rebirth we celebrate, for it is ours to transcend."
  216.
  217. Rancoura lapses into a momentary silence, allowing the distant beating of the Drums of the Dead to fill the quietude. With a faint, knowing smile, her eyes close once more, chest rising as she draws a deep breath, bated with anticipation.
  218.
  219. Seamlessly, the demidivine descends in a graceful movement, moving with the thumping rhythm and swooping forward, torso curved towards the ground as she draws the cloth tassels through the air. Rancoura swirls the strips above her as she rises, snapping them like a whip and sending the powder coating them billowing into the air.
  220.
  221. The shadowfires atop the torches crackle as the powder makes contact, sending bursts of flame outwards. Rancoura begins to move in a mesmerizing dance, snapping the tassels whenever she nears a torch, sending tongues of wyrden fire snarling outwards outwards as they react. Her dance a study in fluidity, the Haruspex moves a few more steps before she begins to chant.
  222.
  223. Feet stamping lightly as she moves, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Evernight, evernight, the eventide is nigh."
  224.
  225. The shadows slowly start to dissipate.
  226.
  227. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Isa, isa, the shadows a-flight."
  228.
  229. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Slumber, slumber, the biding shall end."
  230.
  231. You have emoted: Gurashi watches Rancoura from near the edge of the crowd, alternating between being fixated on the demigoddes and those entering.
  232.
  233. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Waken, waken, the Hallowed portend."
  234. Rancoura's movements gain in speed, skirts sliding about her long legs, the symbols upon her skin cavorting beneath the dark illumination of the torches. Shadows chase each step, twirling and undulating about her form like insubstantial, ebon flames themselves as she twists the strips of cloth over and around her swirling figure.
  235.
  236. Continuing to flow around the circle, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Glory, glory, webbings and weave."
  237.
  238. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Hunger, hunger, afore the eve."
  239.
  240. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Journey, journey, adapt and survive."
  241.
  242. In smooth, silken tones, Lady Haruspex Rancoura So'hthae, Ole'noc Caihel chants, "Revel, revel, the Solstice arrives."
  243. Rancoura throws her arms outwards, whipping the cloths one last time -- and the shadowfire torches burst with engorging dark flames, tendrils of black and violet flaring out across the glen as a murder of crows launch themselves from the Ravenwood's boughs, cawing their symphony to the drumbeat as they take flight.
  244.
  245. Her chest heaving lightly, Rancoura's gaze moves among the gathered, lingering upon a visage here and there. "Blessed are we, who walk the shadows of the Wyrden Woods," she whispers breathlessly. "So do we revel in the art of Rebirth."
  246.
  247. You think to yourself: Gosh..
  248.
