06[17:53] * [Mode]Amaria continues her patrol of the halls, running checks on the various sectors programmed into memory, while also pursuing a second objective: Locating other errant staff. Rather, one errant maid in particular.

06[18:06] * [Mode]Amaria pushes into the room past Cornette and begins to circle the room, doing a spot check of the conditions. She circles back around to a stop and leans her feet forward, taking a break from rolling around for once.

06[18:11] * [Mode]Amaria zips back around the room, gathering together the various scattered elements of maid regalia and handing them off to Cornette a she passes, until the final piece is gathered, and she circles back around and slides out the door, turning on her heel.

06[18:11] * [Mode]Amaria with that, she rolls off again, already on to her patrol of the halls.

06[18:13] * [Mode]Amaria despite being grabbed, she stops in short order, balanced at an angle that should be impossible. With a twist of her ankles, she circles back around and ducks under Cornette's arm, twisting her grip free.

06[19:18] * [Mode]Amaria as everyone starts to head out, she rolls off ahead, making her way towards the maintenance area for the thruster system.
06[19:19] * [nfty]Aris pries herself off the chair and somewhat reluctantly follows after Ameria.

06[19:38] * [Mode]Amaria opening the door leading into the maintenance area, Amaria heads in first ahead of anyone following her. Partially because of how much quicker she tends to move, but also because of her particular duty. She glides through the walkways of the engine room, checking the displays as she passes until she reaches the main control panel for the system. She tugs at the small skull accessory on her...
06[19:38] * [Mode]Amaria ...headband and pulls it out, connected to a wire that streams from her head. She runs it to the console, and with a press of a button, a set of prongs exit the eyes and nasal cavity of the decoration, and plug into the machine, where she performs a much more detailed analysis of the system while she waits for the others to catch up.

[20:13] <[Mode]Amaria> Did you catch what I said at least? There are some issues with the throttle control system and directional fins, as well as coolant tanks to replace.
[20:15] <[nfty]Aris> Um, n-not really, how hard are those to fix?
[20:17] <[Mode]Amaria> Well...
06[20:18] * [Mode]Amaria unplugs her link to the console and winds the cord back into her head, plugging the skull decoration into her headdress again.
[20:18] <[Mode]Amaria> Depending on the issue, it could mean a full replacement. The motors for the fins are likely just in need of an oil change, but the throttle control might have melted plates.
06[20:19] * [nfty]Aris watches Amaria pack away the cable into her hair, then hears something about 'replacement'.
[20:19] <[Mode]Amaria> Coolant tanks are simple though, they're easily able to be removed and replaced with the engines running.
06[20:20] * [Mode]Amaria rolls backwards towards the two large cylindrical casings that house the engine and thrusters. She opens one of the panels and steps aside, moving on her feet rather than wheels. She motions Aris over.
06[20:20] * [nfty]Aris frowns. "Hurhmm... Maybe we should have stolen an engineer or two."
06[20:20] * [nfty]Aris plods over and looks at the ... thruster thing?
[20:22] <[Mode]Amaria> Here, see.
06[20:23] * [Mode]Amaria she motions to a long panel along the inside, several handles protruding from it. Next to each handle is a light. Several lights are an orange colour, rather than yellow.
[20:23] <[Mode]Amaria> These orange lights are the tanks that need replacing.
06[20:23] * [Mode]Amaria reaches down and opens a hatch in the floor below the coolant panel, revealing several more handles and lights, along with empty holes.
[20:24] <[Mode]Amaria> Replacing is simple!
06[20:24] * [nfty]Aris looks down at the handles under the floor, then watches Amaria
[20:25] <[nfty]Aris> I guess these are the spare tanks?
06[20:25] * [Mode]Amaria reaches into the engine panel and flicks a switch next to one of the orange lights. It shuts off, and with a pull, the tank is slowly removed, and slid into one of the empty sockets, where another switch is flicked and a quiet hissing sound is heard. The steps are repeated in reverse, taking one of the prepared tanks and replacing it in the empty socket on the engine and flicking the switch....
06[20:25] * [Mode]Amaria ...The light turns on yellow.
[20:25] <[Mode]Amaria> You got it!
06[20:26] * [nfty]Aris tries pulling on one of the coolant tanks.
[20:26] <[nfty]Aris> H-hurgh!  It's pretty heavy!

[20:27] <[Mode]Amaria> I didn't think of that part, they're not that heavy for me after all.
06[20:28] * [nfty]Aris slowly slides one of the tanks up and out of the floor bay.
[20:29] <[nfty]Aris> Hff-- this reminds me of a vidcon I played, it was, uh, Super M&#9670;ri&#9670; ... 2?
[20:32] <[Mode]Amaria> Oh?
06[20:33] * [Mode]Amaria slides across the walkway on her wheels, turning to the opposite engine and popping the panel. Replacing both engine's coolant tanks at once would cut time spent on that task.
06[20:36] * [nfty]Aris hefts up the coolant tank and moves over to where Amaria is.
06[20:38] * [nfty]Aris slids in the tank because it feels like she should be in a hurry!
[20:40] <[nfty]Aris> Phew.  Are there any more?
[20:41] <[Mode]Amaria> Nope, that should cut it for the coolant tanks. Now then...
06[20:42] * [nfty]Aris scratches her head. "I dunno if I can fix a melted whatever plate."
06[20:42] * [Mode]Amaria closes the panel on the exterior casing and rolls back, proceeding farther down the walkway to a set of indentations on the shell. She proceeds to climb, but stops.
06[20:43] * [nfty]Aris jogs after Amaria, then blinks. "Is something wrong?"
[20:43] <[Mode]Amaria> Oh, since I forgot to tell you about the weight, I'll warn you now that the temperature of the casing around here is at nearly 150 degrees Fahrenheit. It might prove uncomfortable for your physiology.
06[20:45] * [Mode]Amaria continues to climb to the top of the casing and shuffles along, sliding a panel open on the top.
[20:45] <[nfty]Aris> oh.. um.  Should I stay down here then?
[20:46] <[Mode]Amaria> What temperature does flesh burn at? I don't have records of that.
[20:47] <[Mode]Amaria> Oh! What's more important is the oil! Could you get the canister for me? There's a locker near the control console.
[20:48] <[nfty]Aris> Okay, I think I can do that!
06[20:48] * [nfty]Aris heads over and pulls open the locker, looking for oil. Black gold.
06[20:50] * [nfty]Aris is lucky enough to find it quickly, and heads back to the ladder. "I found it! We struck oil!"
[20:56] <[Mode]Amaria> Ah, good.
06[20:56] * [Mode]Amaria scurries back and leans down to grab the oil.
06[20:56] * [nfty]Aris holds it up quickly and passes it over to Mode. I mean Amaria.
[20:56] <[nfty]Aris> We'll just have to report on the paddle thing later, I guess... I wonder what they're up to, now?
06[21:02] * [Mode]Amaria she leans a little too far, and thanks in part to the angle of the casing and her weight, she slides forward off the casing and fall on top of Aris. Thankfully, she manages to not land on her entirely, stopping herself against the walkway with her arms.
[21:02] <[Mode]Amaria> I slipped.
[21:03] <[nfty]Aris> Whoa!
06[21:03] * [Mode]Amaria grabs the canister of oil regardless.
[21:03] <[Mode]Amaria> Thanks for bringing the oil!
[21:04] <[nfty]Aris> Ah... yeah.
06[21:04] * [nfty]Aris looks down at herself frantically, then looks relieved somehow, and almost forgets to hand over the oil can to Amaria.
[21:04] <[nfty]Aris> And -- ohhh.
[21:04] <[nfty]Aris> Some of it got on my dress.
06[21:05] * [nfty]Aris looks up. "Well, we should just finish this up for now, I guess."
[21:06] <[Mode]Amaria> Yes. I'll get on it.
06[21:08] * [Mode]Amaria stands up and proceeds back towards the ladder, not bothering to straighten out her outfit. She climbs back up and goes about oiling the internal mechanisms. Once complete, she heads back to the edge and slides down carefully, then proceeds up the opposite casing to repeat the process.
[21:09] <[Mode]Amaria> Alright, oiling complete... Now all that's left is the throttle control.
[21:09] <[nfty]Aris> We can't really fix that by just replacing it, though, can we?
06[21:10] * [Mode]Amaria climbs along the top of the casing and places the canister of oil on one of the indentations in the casing, low enough for Aris to grab it.
06[21:10] * [nfty]Aris reaches up and grabs it, making sure it's closed, and moves to put it away where she got it.
[21:11] <[Mode]Amaria> Sure we can, if need be. The throttle control is a series of overlapping plates beyond the thruster that controls the flow. They're treated to withstand very high temperatures, but occasionally a defect or just wear can damage the plates and cause them to fuse together.

The buttons are detailed on the screen, fairly large so there should be no problems. I'll go in and take a look, since the heat and radiation in the engine would be quite hazardous to your health.

06[21:26] * [Mode]Amaria nods as the engine powers down, and she head back to the opposite edge, sliding off the side as she does. Reaching the end of the walkway, she grabs onto a handle set into the side of the casing and hops off the edge, swinging around into the end of the engine casing and begins inspecting the control plates.
06[21:30] * [Mode]Amaria she can see the problem already. Some of the plates did melt together. She makes note of their position and swings back around to the walkway.
[21:30] <[Mode]Amaria> There is some melting, it seems. I need to go out onto the hull to replace them.

06[21:32] * [nfty]Aris smirks. "It's a good thing we have you around. Normally we'd need hazard suits for this kind of thing."
[21:34] <[Mode]Amaria> Well if I wasn't around, this ship would be in a lot of trouble!
[21:35] <[Mode]Amaria> I'm a component of the ships systems, installed on every model and personalized by the commanding officer. My primary duty is ship maintenance, afterall, what else knows better what the ship needs than the ship itself?

06[21:37] * [Mode]Amaria rolls past Aris to the console, and types a few quick commands, then rolls to the nearby air lock and enters. Once inside, she picks up a device from the wall and secures it over her shoulders.

The pressurized door closes with a hiss, and a few seconds of warnings later, the exterior door opens. The magnetic grip system in her soles activates, and Amaria steps forward, locking her feet into the magnetic rails along the outside. As she reaches the rear of the ship, she unlocks her feet...

06[21:47] * [Mode]Amaria the device around her neck and shoulders activates once she gets into position near the damaged thruster, a compartment filled with replacement plates opens and a pair of long mechanical arms unfold, reaching towards the sections requiring maintenance. With naturally mechanical precision, she easily opens the catches holding the individual plates in place and removes the several melted...
06[21:47] * [Mode]Amaria ...plates with one mechanical claw while a second places individual plates into the empty catches and closes them. In all, the exchange takes a total of two minutes, and Amaria is sliding back along the magnetic rails, holding the melted plates. A quick airlock exchange and repressurization later, and she enters the engine room, carrying the fused plates.

[21:48] <[nfty]Aris> That took a lot less time than I thought it would...
