- <kline> evening, a channel im in is having issues with a user coming in daily, posting a few inappropriate messages, and then leaving. we dont have ops who can make a stand on this. whats the best way to try and resolve this?
- <dax> "we dont have ops who can make a stand on this" => do you not have ops at all, or do the ops not agree with it being a problem, or...?
- <kline> dax: this is #arduino, you maybe remember the issue we have about not having ops or a grf
- <kline> but yes, we actually have no active ops
- <kline> (two on access list, but they are never around)
- <dax> Ah, yes.
- <dax> This probably isn't what you want to hear, but if the Arduino folks aren't interested in group registration, you should probably be in ##arduino and #arduino should probably be +if ##namespace or something
- <kline> thats something we've considered, but we're not sure how to implement it without having rights in single-#
- <kline> and as you say, its the last thing we want to do
- <dax> the +if bit?
- <kline> yeah
- <dax> I'd have to talk to other staff about it, but I imagine we'd end up doing that.
- <dax> Anyways, back to the immediate concern. We don't do channel management for channels that aren't in the right place, and that includes adding additional ops :<
- <kline> thats fine, i understand that
- <kline> as for moving, i appreciate that. its something ill bring up and see how other channel members feel about. would you mind if i capture the log of our discussion for others to see?
- <dax> That's fine. Let me know if you end up deciding on that, and I'll explain the history to other staff and see what they think :)
- <kline> thats great, thank you
