- It works.... but it would be even cooler / better if it served as a front-end to TweakCompatible's database. It's counterproductive to have two entirely separate rating systems.
- TweakCompatible has a richer schema: you can see which versions were rated by which devices / OS versions, you can see who the GitHub user is who's rating something, so you can potentially contact them (perhaps to follow up & get more info) or see what their other ratings are (get a sense of what else they're using). Also there's more users using TweakCompatible.
- Now that TweakCompatible for Zebra is a thing (on https://samgisaninja.github.io/ repo) and Zebra is working well as package manager & can live alongside of Sileo (on https://xtm3x.github.io/repo/ repo), there's no actual need for TweakReviewsDB as a separate database.
- But it does have a nice UX! So, it would be great if TweakReviewsDB continued to be a thing, but served mainly as a front end to the TweakCompatible DB.
- Perhaps a splash screen at beginning informing users that TweakCompatible's DB is the new default, and explaining how the old legacy TweakReviews reviews (that are frozen & now read-only) can be accessed. Perhaps via a toggle up at the top of the window while viewing TweakCompatible DB reviews.
- And also perhaps contact TweakCompatible dev and see about combining the tweaks into one. It's really silly that there's two. There's 4 package managers (Sileo, Zebra, Installer & Cydia) but they all operate on the same apt dpkg DB. Same principle should apply here as well.
- (And: bug: this review had to be finished in Notes, because TweakReviewsDB composition view doesn't scroll 😳)
- Finally: I'm fine with not being anonymous, if anyone wants to contact me for more info about any of this; I'm at https://github.com/edmechem .
- Thanks for reading all of this!
