  1. Tonight on Demon's Souls:
  2. ZE END OF ZE WORLD
  3. ...
  4. WHOOPS
  5. I was not happy with this king fellow and his soul stealing shenanigans. I returned to 1-4 and the sundered throne room. There I grabbed my 112 thousand odd souls and Evacuated right out. Topping off myself with these and some consumable Legendary soul's I'd been holding on to and using another Stone of Ephemeral Eyes, I was ready in spirit but not totally so in body.
  6. A quick trek through 1-4 and I was at the elevator once more. I flipped the switch and up I went. As the long upwards trip began I started a ritual to prepare myself in body. I put away my Large Sword of Moonlight and brought out my old friend, the +10 Halberd. And then I stripped myself of helmet, gauntlets and armoured boots. Taking my well used and much loved Halberd into both hands, I was ready.
  7. The so called king was as swift and hardy as ever. But now I knew his strengths and his weaknesses. Back and forth I strafed, dodging past the wide swings and punishing them with swift jabs. The battle was long and I took many small hits and a few big ones. But with the protectiveness of the Brushwood armour chest piece and my own insane durability in body form I was never in danger that some full moon grass couldn't solve. After man blows traded back and forth the so called King was weak and I gave in to the great Souls sin: I abandoned defence in the hope to end the fight swiftly. But it was not done so foolishly as you might think. Though I took a pair of hard strikes I was simply tough enough to trade blows and win against my so weakened foe.
  8. Then someone started complaining about how I'd killed their demon. Funnily enough I had no sympathy for this person. I put my armour back on and returned to the Nexus. I watched the grand statue drop it's sword, shattering the barrier below. I then spoke to the Maiden in Black. She informed me that it was time to go below. Holding my hand she leant backwards over the gaping hole to in an attempt to pull both of us in, despite her a waifish build and myself being a healthy man wearing a small mountain of metal. Like the grand champion of professional wrestling jobbers, I sold the gentle tug and sailed into the abyss after her.
  9. Upon reaching the ground I was entreated to the sight of the Maiden calling the Old One, which seemed to be a giant flying worm made of trees. Inspecting the dunes behind my I found myself oddly disappointed that the giant stone sword from early was not in evidence. Then when I spoke to the Maiden she insisted that I walk into the mouth of the Branch Worm and refused to take my souls. Feeling grumpy over this and her total failure to acknowledge the effort I put into making her look capable just a moment ago I gave her a bop with my sword before going inside.
  10. There I found the remains of the actual King Allant, reduced to something comparable to a Gibbering Mouther, but without the horrific magic. Although he did attempt to drive me insane by spouting drivel about how "all things wish to end". He too got bopped. Then the Maiden returned and told me to leave so she could have a nap with the Old One. Still grumpy about all this and knowing that her soul could be traded for a spell I wanted to have I bopped her again...
  11. ...aaaaaaand accidentally initiated the evil ending. And I didn't even get her soul. Turns out you have to not kill her to get her soul. Who knew? Still the 200,000 souls worth of Beast Soul was an acceptable consolation prize.
  12. After the credits rolled New Game +1 began. And I figured why not? Apparently the /real/ Demon's Souls starts here. So back to 1-1. Now I'm not going to say that I've got the best build for flattening world 1, but I'm pretty sure...
  13. Regular enemies 1 hit kill.
  14. Blue Eye Knight 2 hit kill.
  15. Red Eye Knight 3 hit kill.
  16. Hoplites 1 hit kill.
  17. Phalanx very swiftly lost all it's protective Hoplites and then tried to hide in the corner. I was torn between amusement and disappointment. Fresh Lead Demon's Soul in hand I returned to the Nexus.
  18. And that was my experience with Dark Souls. There were some things I missed; a bunch of world tendency events, the fight with Old King Doran (Thanks bugged Ostrava) and the Mephistopheles quests. But it was still a varied and enjoyed experience.
