- Edwin finicks around hurriedly, a panicked look on his face. Four minutes--jeez! First and foremost, he needed something to mark his spot. He removed the tattered scarf around his neck and tied it onto a nearby rock to mark the start/finish line.
- With that, he bolted forwards! He ran as fast as he could, and well.. sure enough he found himself exhausted after just three or four circles. He was already sweating profusely. Edwin's breath was hurried and strained, but upon noticing the strange eyes of Mr. Rowan in the distance, managed to forcibly reinvigorate himself.
- He paced himself this time, rather than letting all of his energy loose. He did his utmost to conserve his stamina reserves and use them accordingly, all of course which happened at a subconscious level.
- Heck--some illiterate street urchin wasn't capable of such higher level thinking like that! Thankfully, his body filled the gaps that his brain lacked.
- By somedivine miracle, if only by the grace of Azrael himself, he managed to just barely complete the final lap within the allocated time period. He slumped face forwards onto the ground as he crossed the finish line.
- "Huff.. huff--hhgn.. sheesh."
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- The Oscuri child continued to run his physical ability wasn't all that impressive but his resolve to finish the task at hand was there in spirit at the very least. He continued circling the field without stopping despite his lack of physicality. The curse of mage legs after all.
- He continued to do the exorcise until the time was up looking towards Edwin seeing how well he was doing compared to him. It seemed he was able to keep up and make the to the goal...perhaps in this human there could be a rivalary. If he was worthy of it at the very least.
- "Huff...ngh…I haven't ran so much in years..."
- The Oscuri is tired out and the Reika lines on his skin begin to flash a greenish glow back and forth.
- (Giddeon Ruger)
- "YOU CALL THAT RUNNING WORMS? GIVE ME ANOTHER TWENTY SET. IF I CATCH YOU RESTING, THEN YOU'RE OFF OF MY TRAINING GROUNDS." Theodore's personality shifted, as long as both of them agreed to enter his training, he wasn't going to cut them some slack. They wanted to be warriors, and they had to know, there was no short cuts to being one.
- "That was pathetic. Even lady Cho, who's in her seventies, can run faster than that. Keep it going!" Theodore scolded, but a certain thing about his tone was, that it inspired, in a way - perhaps his cosmic magic, the warmth it produces, carrying out even with his voice.
- Theodore would then proceed to levitate, watching the boys do circles around the training ground, his expression is almost a permanent frown, unless one of them impresses him, he wasn't having none-of-that. Both arms come to a cross as he watched.
- (Theodore Rowan)
- Giddeon would already be exhausted he had been running non stop all this time and right when he was prepared to rest Theodore's voice came crashing into his head like a thunderclap. He was besides himself trying to thing of a way out of doing any more running yet as he was about to nearly fall to the floor his Reika lines would begin to flash even brighter now.
- A glazed over look in his eyes as he began being sent a vision of the Divine war. A blood scene which displayed many soldiers running for their lives on the battle field. Attempting to flee only to be ripped sundered by the blades of the countless Oscuri and undead.
- The vision sparked within him a carinal instinct one that would shoot his adrenaline up the roof. His natural battle instincts triggered making him more of a threat than ever. His muscles flexed powerful contractions and expansions came about as he began sprinting across the field not spotting for a second he could no longer feel his pain or any cramps due to the soothing high of the adrenaline rush.
- round and round he'd continue to move as quickly as possible until told otherwise to stop.
- (Giddeon Ruger)
- In truth, Edwin was about ready to pass out. His chest was heaving up and down in rapid succession. It was clear he had reached the limits of his cardiovascular capacity, but before his eyes could close..
- ...WORMS...
- ...PATHETIC...
- Honestly, the prominence of Theodore's voice alone was enough to instill fear into the young boy. He wasn't used to such.. hard-hitting antics. Coincidentally, however, the surprise of the whole thing was enough to make Edwin jolt back to his feet.
- He immediately began running again, but naturally, found himself out of stamina relatively quickly. His pace became slower and slower with each lap he completed. Sweat began to drench his complexion. The child was at his limit.
- "Huff, huff.. huah.."
- There was a subtle ringing in his ears that grew more prominent as his vision grew more blurry. Time seemed to slow down as he felt himself falling forwards..only to firmly root a foot down into the ground.
- A flip had switched. A voice spoke to him, one he was almost entirely unfamiliar with. He couldn't understand what it was saying, or what it wanted, but allowed it into his sphere of influence.
- For a single moment.. a star shone brightly in the sky above.
- Edwin's face scrunched up in concentration and vigor, furrowing his brows as he flared his nostrils. A released a cry of pure indomitable spirit as the greens of his eyes shifted to a yellow. A burst of golden energy surrounded him.
- He completed the final lap in a burst of momentum, and as soon as he skidded to a halt the mysterious energy that encased him vanished.
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- A grin had been planted on Theodore's features, as soon as the Oscuri shone brightly and continued to run on, he was a beast - even for a young boy, the way he ran. It felt as if the Oscuri was prepared to march into battle.
- "FASTER, GIDDEON!" Theodore demanded, as the boy ran his circles, his tone was encouraging rather than intimidating. He was pleased, which was something on it's own. The frown was one, but, when his gaze shot over at Edwin?
- It returned, considering that he's been slowing down significantly. "YOU GOT MORE IN YOU, EDWIN! KEEP IT UP!" And then, just the boy was about to fall down out of exhuastion, Theodore had been prepared to wrap himself over to him, concentrating on the cosmic energy he'd accumilated, to make himself faster but-
- Something happened, and Theodore could feel it - cosmic mana began to flow into Edwin's body, fueling him, forcing him to move faster than Theodore had expected. Kid was a natural.
- A smile painted his features, he rushes over towards Edwin, who was completely exhausted from all the running.
- "Tired already, Edwin?" Theodore's hand landed on the boy's shoulder, giving it a nice pat. "You've done well." He decided not to tell him about what happened to him, letting him figure it out on his own, was the only way to make him realize his potential.
- "On the ground, give me twenty set of push ups! Both of you!"
- (Theodore Rowan)
- He continued to run push himself to the bring of what he was capable of. The extension of his abilites would soon come to fruition once he found he found his tutor and the ability to finally get ahead in his necromancy arts.
- He finally planted himself into the soil it only pushing him to go faster he could feel his feet pounding against the ground back and forth circular motions continued.
- A glance towards Edwin would be a surprise as he could feel mana begin to well up inside of the other boy. It seemed he was getting a hang on whatever abilites he was manifesting. His body would be washed in golden lights shining over the area in energy as he began to move even faster now.
- The Oscuri was impressed...he seemed to be a natural for someone who didn't even know of his own magical affinity just a few moments ago.
- (Giddeon Ruger)
- Before he had even been granted an opportunity to realize what had happened to him, Edwin was thrusted right back into Theodore's gruesome training regiment. The knight's positive reinforcement was a nice surprise, though. Erwin wiped the sweat from his brow and offered a firm nod, dropping to the ground.
- To say he had any semblance of upper body strength would be an overstatement. The kid was scrawny as hell, almost on the verge of malnourishment. The first five or six pushups weren't too challenging, after all, he didn't weigh that much.
- Once he got into the double digits, though? That's when he began to feel the burn. Azrael save his pour, physically exerted soul.
- "Fourte--.." he descended, chest hovering above the ground.
- "Fourteen.. huff."
- The kid was straining. He made sure to breath, else he might've exploded right then and there. By the last two or three, his arms were wobbling.
- One more.. just one more!
- Erwin clenched his teeth profusely, flaring his pearly whites like his live depended on it. The accumulation of fatigue was enough to force him to release a roar of anguish, but he did it. He plopped onto the ground soon after.
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- Theodore gazed at the duo, smiling - pleased. Even though, they were still children, they had good spirits and that made him feel good - at least, there were some that actually wanted to do something in this world.
- "Good, good. On your feet, both of you." He spoke, right after they finished their warm up. "If you want to puke, hold it in. You are men. You are soldiers. Show no sign of weakness." Could relate to everything Edwin is going through, perhaps part of the reason why he'd even bothered to train him?
- "How do you feel?" He asked them both, levitating right above them, staring directly down. Even though they were children, Theodore realized that in a few years time, and with constant training, they'll be proper soldiers and that made him smile wider. He needed people he could count on, and there was only a handful of those.
- (Theodore Rowan)
- Erwin pushed himself up off the ground, swaying in place a bit. He felt his stomach churn and boil as he did so, there was something fighting inside the contents of his stomach. He was about ready to hurl until he heard further instructions issued by Theodore, who told them precisely not to do that.
- The child puffed his cheeks out, his complexion shifting from red to a deathly pale color. Sweat dripped from his temples in abundance. He was so close. The child wasn't about to let his body control him.
- So, he did what any stupid kid would do, placing his hands over his mouth and swallowing his own vomit before it had the chance to leave his mouth.
- Gross.
- "G-.." he burped before he could finish. He was going to say 'good', but then he remembered what Mr. Rowan had told him earlier. Honesty and bravery.
- "Everything hurts, Mr. Rowan."
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- As he rose back up from his push up position he'd let his body rest now. Slowly the burst of energy was beginning to leave him yet his heart continued to pound and throb in his chest...perhaps this was the surge of power Oscuri were capable of? He wondered just how far he could take it.
- He remember seeing his father enact wings made of pure Reika that he could use in battle and he wondered if he was able to perform such a feet. Despite doing that he'd need more training with controlling his occultism and the other magics he wanted to master.
- In time he'd have what he wanted, He'd stand breathing heavy barely on his feet and sweeting profusely from the round of training. His body hadn't been under so much stress that it triggered a vision and spiked his adrenaline before the experience as a whole was brand new to him.
- But as he did he could feel his power raise his Reika surge and his need to commit to a fight against heretics only fueled by an insatiable need for violence. This was the Oscuri way after all violence begets change.
- "I-I...can do more if necessary....whats my next task...huff ...huff.."
- (Giddeon Ruger)
