also like, whenever she's split up, the personality components that are split up are different each time--either random or situation dependant. like one idea i had was she might get split into a logical half who burns herself out working around the clock in engineering and an emotional half whose only concern is courting tendi and feinting when a woman Looks At Her.

Like, maybe Guz has made time to hang out with Tendi, and then her duty schedule is changed so she'll be working then, and rather than figuring out a new schedule compatibility with Tendi (which would be inconveniencing her), she decides she could handle splitting herself in two for a day.

But somehow there's a mixup--the personality goes to the wrong motivation maybe--and the workaholic Guz ends up on a date with Tendi and the romantic Guz ends up with Rutherford doing work on the impulse engines. Guz infodumps about impulse engines in a genuinely boring monotone, and she doesn't even know what an impulse engine *is* when talking to Rutherford.

An annoyed Rutherford marching onto the holodeck restaurant dragging the romantic guz by the scruff of her neck, plops her down in the seat, and drags the engineer guz by the scruff of her neck back to the engine room. (and only then does the logical guz matter-of-factly inform him that she's melting, she's been separated too long and they need to recombine her before it's too late.)

Tendi is sobbing over romanceGuz puddle (she was so flustered that she melted first), they recombine her, she's fine, Tendi hugs her, happy ending, Guz learns a lesson about how putting yourself at risk to avoid inconveniencing others is a bad idea, hooray!
