  1. ---
  2. title: What is the Jesdic Pasaru?
  3. ...
  4.
  5. The Jesdic Pasaru is the largest empire in the entire universe,
  6. but that's a bit of a misnomer – it's so big that size is largely meaningless,
  7. so big that it doesn't effectively have a central government,
  8. and worryingly so big that a universe alone cannot contain it.
  9. As a project, the J.-Pasaru attempts to detail the entirety of its history,
  10. from the beginnings of civilisation when the first words are spoken
  11. to the point where physics starts being warped in its favour.
  12.
  13. The bulk of the work is devoted to two particular time periods
  14. (modern tech level and contemporary)
  15. and two particular planets:
  16.
  17. * Pasaru, a planet that is almost but not quite a carbon copy of the Earth.
  18. It would eventually be the 'capital' of an empire
  19. that has grown itself out of existence.
  20. * Xaxex, a planet that is a little smaller and a little unfriendlier,
  21. despite the species's general greater devotion to the arts.
  22.
  23. There's also, as a lesser focus, the moons of a gas giant
  24. who are the first to discover that maybe the laws of physics
  25. are not as interminably rigid as once thought, and a former planet
  26. whose populace has abandoned physical bodies
  27. and now live in essentially a computer.
  28.
  29. The entire thing has a somewhat strong language focus,
  30. which betrays its origin as a vessel to hold languages.
  31. Nowadays it is the dumping ground for anything that is human-inspired
  32. but almost entirely incompatible with the ordinary human mind.
  33.
  34. A complete listing of languages is available here:
