- >Fluff: Times have changed. Magic is coming back to the gifted. Men wield great firearms of death and destruction. Demons roam the earth in search of victims. The world is coming to a tipping point and at the forefront of this all is Ulna. It started over 300 years ago when the great revolution began in the dirty and broken streets of Ulna after the awakening of Kruva. Ulna's king had forcefully deposed by the king of demons who struck down the previous monarch in cold blood. This Demon King called upon all of the young women in the city and forced them into his harem for his own pleasure, his voice forcing anyone who spoke out to suicide. Then Kruva came to Ulna, she gave a speech in the middle of the city square of Ulna that supposedly made men weep and women take up arms in defiance of the government. They marched on the Palace of Ulna and with Kruva at their forefront, they were able to depose the tyrant after the greatest battle their city ever knew. Kruva personally slew the Demon King while he lounged on his throne and brought freedom to the entirety of the teeming masses in Ulna. The Republic was born on that day as slaves threw down their shackles and nobles were brought down by their former servants. Chaos reigned for many days after the dethroning of the Demon King but Bastilia Kruva calmed the city with her own words and her powers. A new government was put in place after that day. The Council of Nine was formed with Kruva at the head to lead the people of Ulna into a new age. Three seats were given to the those nobles who were deemed just and were elected from a council of their own peers. Three seats were given to those commoners who held special council among the population of Ulna. Finally, three seats were held onto by Kruva for many years as she felt that their reservation was needed. Soon after the Republic regained it's bearings though, they came from the pillar.
- Creatures of unimaginable terror and demons that would freeze you with fear, they poured forth and nearly overwhelmed the defenses of Ulna. They were stopped though. Streets were soaked with blood as the brave defenders of Ulna died in droves but they were pushed back. Kruva herself suffered wound that nearly killed her but they were pushed back. Inch by inch. Foot by foot. The foul demons were pushed back and to this day, fresh Ulnian troops stream out of the gates of Ulna to join the warzone. Ulna became a beacon of hope and safety in a storm of death, tribals fled to the protection of it's walls daily in the hope that they would not be killed that day. Kruva joined the front for a while and left the council in her place but after their war was stalled in the mountains, she returned to help govern Ulna. Not only did she govern but she found time to experiment and find new secrets in the maelstroms of Terra. She found magic. She found her mother. She found Meridia. On one warm summer day in the rice paddies of Ulna, Bastilia Kruva embraced her usual meditation with a unknown fervor and she awakened fully. She had a long talk with her mother about why she was abandoned and what she was along with talking of the other gods. Two things happened after she snapped out of her meditation. The first temple to Meridia and several other gods was founded in a new district of Ulna and another district was founded. The District of Magic. A grand academy rose out of the ground with Kruva as it's first teacher. The three unassigned seats were given to Kruva's most proficent apprentices and the Magocracy was born in a sense. Mages became the new nobles as they threw powers that were godlike with a snap of their finger. Two divisions of mages formed out of those who were founded gifted enough to wield the powers of the maelstrom. Utility Mages and Battle Mages. Utility Mages specialized in non-combat magics, the weakest of their lot were glorified plumbers who moved water through the sewer systems of Ulna and through the Aquaducts. The strongest of the Utility Mages could carve fortresses out of entire mountains or could teleport key generals to the front of the Ulna-Demon warzone. Battle Mages were already at the forefront though, their power used to push back the demons for the first time in a hundred years. The most powerful of their kind guarded Kruva herself when she went out into battle or was simply working on a new project in her study.
- Time passed as it is apt to do and the war is still ongoing but things are different. New weapons of lead and blackpowder are being given to the men while new schools of magic are being discovered daily in the grand academy. At the forefront of this nation is Bastilia Kruva, undisputed leader of Ulna despite it being formally recognized as a republic. Times are still changing. They will not bow in the face of these changes. GLORY TO ULNA - Note, this is heavily changed cause mah propghanda and dramatic storytelling.
