- The Qm's setting documentation of the greatest shitposting quest I can muster as pony dies out: because making a murder mystery without planning is the worst thing you can do, working on and off for last year or so ([s] indicates a spoiler censor)
- Canon status: follows plot up until s5 finale (movie world additions and races are not canon in this quest), but whenever or not twilight returns to this timeline...
- THE FUCKING RULES THAT I NEED TO KEEP CONSISTENT:
- The fog is an extremely concentrated self-sustaning magic field, born of [s], that repels all but the strongest of equs-foriegn forces, and over time [s] warped in how it works, and as such the process can now be very dangerous, but in that danger allows the individual to maintain themselves to retain their normal mindset and control over the persona and all its powers.
- Weak and medium strength demons cannot travel in or be summoned in fog, though medium demons my shelter themselves in chests. High level demons can be weakened by normal fog, and only the strongest can travel though the thickest days. Full moon empowers summoning of law-aligned demons and a new moon empowers summoning of chaos-aligned demons.
- Within the arcane world, the fog level is determined by material weather patterns. The thickest fog outside occurs after at least 2 days of rain, causing no fog left in the arcane world to protect anyone trapped from powerful shadows and demons.
- All the arcane devices are powered or charged by an arcane stream, run via power lines from a nearby generation center where unicorns have created self-refreshing spells in machines to generate more pure magical power than can be generated directly. The pure energy is inert, is not volatile unless you cross connections without a transformer to control the surge, but can also be seen as transmitted in the arcane world where they are shown as concentrated streams.
- Due to [s] influence, Rumors can take hold to boost skill effectiveness when it is not foggy out. If he reveals himself, he can make it so rumors have a powerful effect as opposed to a background effect.
- Die in the arcane world, you body will reform in the manifest world perfect and intact with all items on you, but still dead.

- players decide mc name (horse faced hippogriff, in this setting hippogriffs are hybrids of griffons and ponies) (he's gonna start with wind, weak to elec and resistant to ice, reflects wind attacks)
- [s] - Sweet Tea (pegasus), your cute little cousin. Too good for this world, likes to shop and sweets and curry. Unable to achieve persona at this point in life.
- [s] - Sage Tea (pegasus) The seasoned detective of the local guard post, very work focused but loves his filly. Has conflicting feelings about [s]. Likes bitter foods and coffee. IF he somehow gets a persona, it will be a pegasus holding a globe upon his wings, a twist on the atlas mythos.
- [s]- Dusk Ivy (unicorn) [s]. A bit petty and apathetic at times, but [s]. Enjoys cheap magic-heated food and soda. Secretly a sweetheart inside, but due to the nature of [s], this twists him more and more over time and leaves him vulnerable to corruption. Variant persona of [s]
- [s]- Flash feather (pegasus) Electric power, persona is loki in some form mixed with sentai hero as a moth pony. Very much like his [s] counterpart, but also bothered by previous antics from before he moved, and has been somewhat discouraged from a path of good, but still has the drive to try, though it's possible to lead him down a wrong path. Likes saucy foods and tea. His persona is a sentai/old masked warrior mothpony.
- [s]- Snowy Chai (Unicorn) ice power, still healer. The daughter of the town inn popular for its hot springs and coffee & tea brews, she is expected to take over the business, and while she is good at it, she feels the need to hide her passion for writing, even from herself, not wanting to disappoint her family. Loves horror and dark fantasy stories, enjoys sweet foods. Can brew a very potent chai tea that boosts creativity and other stats. Her persona is Mango the vampire pony (because why not).
- [s]- Terra flora (earth) fire power. Very friendly but direct, tries to subdue her own nature as to not outshine her shy friend Snowy Chai without letting her drift apart, or let down her little sisters. Will have some feelings of self resentment to process. Loves fried tofu and spicy foods. Her persona will be a snake-pony form.
- [s]- Grandor (griffon) phys focused, with some wind power, handy with guns and shields. Struggles a bit with his identity as a griffon who secretly loves some parts of pony culture, but also still likes some parts of griffon culture. Likes meat and seed snacks. His persona will be a flutter pony variant.
- [s]- Dawning Flash;[s]. Ice and light attacks, persona will resemble a baticorn.
- [s]: A rouge arcane program created to sing that gained self agency. Might be encountered instead of a persona or demon. Will look mostly like [s], appear as alicorn.
- [s]- Elegant Sleuth (unicorn female) The next pretty stallion, order and chaos powered; may not appear under certain branch off; personality is same as [s], persona is a tiny sea pone.

- Wishing Splash- A shy upper-classpony, who's family is influential to the town but is cold to her. might become a victim on a certain path
- Babu - A sweet a floofy dog who you see around town sometimes, owned by Wishing Splash. Persona capable.

The contract the mc made was his promise to sweet tea to protect and look after her, but in the event this is broken or the MC sees [s] true nature if that promise is broken (or other conditions) to allow the mc to continue use of the velvet room
- Margaret: The handy earth equine companion of Igor in charge of the compendium and assisting the MC. [s] Will be capable of giving the gift of the third eye skill. Will realize after [s]

- West on ineighba: Gallop falls, a dense forest area equivalent to a laid-back ever-free, bordered on the western side by mountains with beautiful rivers and falls and a thriving small tourist town in the middle. [s] will be twins with [s] shack and dead parents, [s] will be recent town residents. A few hours travel.
- East of Ineighbah: Ineighbah docks, with small breaks for tiny beach plots, and a small boardwalk. Little to no travel time.
- North of Ineighbah: Trotkyo, a major metro area, the equivalent of Manehattan in the region dominated by shady corporations and cult activity. A few hours travel.
- Tarot equivalent in this setting, but not the same match; moon and sun, but also loyalty, laughter, kindness, generosity, honesty, and magic, plus equilibrium(substitutes the fool/joker), melody, the mirror, the hope, the wizard, ect., as this plane does not abide by the rules they normally operate under. - Weather pony: Join the local weather control team part time, increases knowledge and courage (Min rank 2 knowledge)
- Papercraft: With claws, create intricate paper foldings to make art, increases understanding and expression
- Arcane device study: Learn how to use your arcane display machine to learn info, plus other devices powered by arcane flow, mostly knowledge at first then understanding+ some secrets
- Janitor: Work at hospital or in ...velvet room train?
- Quest intro:
- Quest begins in the velvet room, styled as a train car, Igor takes the form of a griffin, and Elizabeth takes the form of an earth pony. They'll ask a few questions of the MC. A tarot is read, but once the first card is flipped, it reveals a random cutie mark instead, then the other cards flip into cutie marks, then the deck explodes into cutie mark cards all over, and Igor comments that what's worked for them before won't work normally in this world, but they still want to help you to find your ultimate destiny (while 'Margaret' cleans up all the cards), and bid you good night... for now.
- (1st day foggy)
- MC wakes up on the floor of his room at an awkward angle, trying to remember what happened the night before and where he is. There will be piles of items of all sorts on the floor, including scraps of papers with names on them, including the MC's name (Allowing the players to at least name the MC). From there, the MC will remember he just moved to Ineighba two days before into his uncle's home and little cousin, and that he will be attending the local university to finish his education. The MC can go downstairs and greet everyone 'good morning' or mess around a bit more in the upstairs room, which when cleared of clutter will contain a flat bed, a shelf, a cabinet, a desk, a sitting pad, and an arcane device with a circular protrusion on the desk.
- Downstairs will be Sage Tea and Sweet Tea, eating breakfast with a plate for the mc already out. If the mc dicks around upstairs too long, Sage tea will have already be in the process of leaving for work, otherwise will ask mc how he would like his coffee. The mc is EXPECTED to drop Sweet Tea off at her school, then head to his college classes, but at this point I don't expect much, other areas will have [s]. The mc should walk as the awkward wake up made for sore wing joints.
- Meets Flash Feather on the way to college, can ignore or be friendly with, then Snowy Chai and Terra Flora there. Otherwise, can freeroam (no flight, sore wings). Either way, gossip is heard, setting set-up, ect, and you go home at the end of the day, have dinner, Sage Tea gives you an arc-screen for your hoof, and go to bed, dreaming of your own echoing voice in the distance serenading you.
- The next morning (day 2, foggy with rain in evening) you wake in bed and your wings are no longer sore. On the larger AD downstairs there is a news story in the bg about Lilac Sweet and her very public affair and fight between Quaint Lilly and an unknown stallion. Sage will have already left for his post and Sweet will welcome you with breakfast before you head off again. class runs normally with a few more details, you get to know the other main 3 more and get a rumor that a AD may have a magical spark at midnight that will reflect who is in your heart. That night you will view a projection of what appears to be a mare running and bloody.
- The next morning (day 3, foggy in day, sunny in afternoon), you wake up and have the same schedule. The body of Lilac sweet will be found mid-day by Honey Liquor tangled in the magical arcane lines held up by poles, with no magical trace or physical evidence to say for sure who did it or even how she died, as the body was intact. You can discover this as the body is being taken down after class or possibly sooner if you were fucking around outside and discover the body just a moment after Honey Liquor screams at the discovery. That evening, you see a news story focusing on honey liquor about the discovery.
- On day 4 (foggy), everyone is a bit shaken by the death, but everyone attends class as normal. You meet Honey liquor during lunch even if you did not the prior day, will allude to what happened and have some interaction with flash feather, afterwards she leaves for the day to do further work with police at the station.
- day 5 (foggy)you stop by pmart, HL is missing from work according to ff, no reply to ARC-screen messages but ff is used to that, but will get message that she was feeling ill, fog all day. No school every 5th day.
- day 6 (foggy, rain that evening)hl is still missing from classes when you return. ff is worried shes not just sick, but remembers she also had to do some work with the police due to the body discovery. more classes and character banter, and another rumor mention for the midnight AC view. That night you see a blurry image of a mare, ragged and tied up in cords. HL will have been murdered by a summoned demon that night. The image is only a momentary flicker unlike the last one, but if the mc did not before, will stick claw into screen area and phase though
- day 7 (morning fog) HL is found death in another part of town in a similar manner in the arcane power lines. This time, the police issue a reporter ban, detail on the murder are unclear aside from positioning. (unlike LS, her body was shredded by a demon, all traces of demon dissipated with the dawn and fog) FF is devastated.

- Hoof Arc-screen: We SMT now. But seriously, about a day into the cyoa timeline,the mc will get this device, it functions as a laptop/modern phone would, it will not work in the arcane world until an update to the arcane coding prevents overload issues, but the party should not realize [s]
- Arcane devices: like a black mirror tuned screen side up with some metallic protrusions (Need to draw), it operates as a holo-projector and computational system/ data-retrival system. Most larger models operate like a magical light theater, as most broadcasts are displayed in that manner due to the first uses being to record and show plays outside of physical theaters. Beyond visual programs, it can bring up a 2d page-like hollogram to read info, or post info to different data channels like the Ineighba arcane bulletin board. It can also play radio signals. The black mirror bottom is [s].
- The midnight channel: chalked up to maintenance static that sometimes come though as a flickering moment of pale golden light coming in the holo-projector, rumor has it the face of somepony you're thinking about will appear in that light

- [06]Lovers : You and a romantic partner/ random party member get stuck together in a remote location inside a dungeon or dangerous area, your bond becomes way closer... but at what cost? Shadows or demons are now coming out in stronger waves
- [07]Chariot : The trotkyo cults have made their way into ineighba faster than anticipated, their influence taking root overnight, and it is very noticeable (Speed goes way up for everyone)
- [08]Justice : In the wake of the recent murders and cult activity, more crimes are being committed, the clash between law and chaos becoming more apparent. By the end of a 3-day period you've become involved in a major event (Strength and vitality goes way up for everyone, gain a resistance)
- [09]Hermit : The dungeon shifts or the area doubles in obstacles (If not in combat area, will trigger once mid way in)(you find 500 bits and 3 useful items), but at the end you get a very powerful persona and your social links will strengthen
- [10]Fourtune: After you find the card, you get a parcel of 3000 bits and a golden weapon/armor. However, the fog will suddenly clear and a mass summoning will take place that night, throwing the town may into a mass battle that night and next day depending on how far in the year this is triggered
- [11]strength: A Random townpony will 'accidentally' be pushed into the arcane world by one of your party members, and they will attempt to hide it for god knows what reason far beyond the point of being too late unless you figure it out first. Everyone becomes way more magically adept!
- [12]Hanged m: Fog and clear days will suddenly reverse for the next two weeks, and on the last new clear day there will be a strong summoning of a demon that sticks to the shadows and influences ponies. Everyone has way more endurance!
- [13]Death : The fog comes suddenly and becomes way more dense than normal, to the point shadows will manifest in the material world and the most dangerous foes enter the arcane world, lasts a day and some may not survive the experience, about 5 ponies will be in the worst of it and face their shadows, while others become VERY inwardly focused and entranced. You find 5 bottles of alicorn tears and some rejuvenation beans.
- [14]Tempernc: You find your luck for the next 3 days is vastly improved, you can't mess anything up even if you tried, and you get more money and gifts, training has double the results. Yay no downsides
- [15]Devil : One of your 'personas' mutates and becomes way stronger... but begins to influence you far more strongly, even making itself the active persona if it was not already. You'll learn to like it.
- [16]Tower : You feel fortunate for the next week, but something is occurring during that week, you can feel it; if you do not stop it, the consequences will be catastrophic on the town, depending on how bad you let things get, another pony may be dead, maybe one you know, all the way to the town was destroyed and you all must move and separate (QM has full responsibility to ensure it matches player skill for difficulty)
- [17]Star : The cultists have learned what you are doing, and will stop at nothing to bend you skills to their will and break you to their desires, or eliminate you if you refuse to comply. But all your friends have your back! all social links strengthen and you all gain lots of endurance.
- [18]Moon : You find a bloody card. A lunar eclipse occurs, 3 more murders occur that night either due to demons if you are in town, or via arcane world if you are trekking; either way, the police have finally managed to build a trace of the vague remnant energy, back to you!! (or to a party member if strength occurred)
- You become permanently better at speed and stealth by large amounts, and you get more key info about who really did it.
- [19]Sun : You find a bloody card. Despite a bad feeling, you are able to study and train better than ever before, you even find some genuinely helpful info about the situation, and even gain battle xp 5x more! But when you next go into the velvet room...
- [20]Judgement: Your magic stamina and one other party member triples, all other stats double! But an eclipse occurs (Warned two weeks ahead of time), and all hell breaks loose. Conception may be triggered (And the players should be warned of this possibility BEFORE picking up the card, it's only fair).

- Apple pie: Made from an old equestrian recipe from a family in ponyville, smells delicious! Recovers 100 hp
- Apple cider: Addictive and bubbly! heal all health and prior ailments but become dizzy in battle

- Wizards Medicine: Pills here! Recovers 150 hp

- Mystery potion X: Who knows?? It smells nice though.

- Golden peach: A perfect peach beyond your tastes. Recover 300 hp and 100 mp

- Charms/carved stones: Will be of varying types, causes moderate damage of its type to all foes
