- PROJECT /OAG/
- Premise:
- This is a story based on the sequence of events on the /VT/ board on 4chan. In the story, events that occurred on the board are changed to fit the narrative of the story. Rather than a record of the presence of Annoying Orange on the /VT/ board, this is a story that uses those events for worldbuilding, lore, and plot. This is merely planning and is largely incoherent.
- Two seperate continents exist on a world. Of the two continents one is the land of /VT/ and the other is the Orange Empire. The Orange Empire sends an attack force to establish a secure position for further operations on the continent. The offensive goes better than expected and the invading force push themselves beyond the bounds of the original invasion plan. The story begins on the eve of a major offensive and follows a squad of grunts during and after the offensive.
- /VT/
- Geography:
- Neighboring continent to the Orange Empire. Rich in untapped resources and filled with all kinds of environments from arctic to tropical. The northern section of the continent is covered in mostly tundras and glaciers. The center of the continent containes an extremely large freshwater lake roughly 3/5 the size of the meditteranean sea that is littered with a multitude of islands. The Western fringes of the continent are mostly desert that transitions to a tropical grassland in the south. The southern portion of the continent is covered entirely in a dense rainforest. The Eastern portion of the continent, which is where the vanguard initially lands, is temperate and is mostly covered in plains and forests. The continent has three major mountain ranges. One circles most of the inner freshwater sea. Another stretches across the Southern region of the continent through the rainforests. The final mountain range covers the North Eastern corner of the continent.
- Inhabitants and Societies:
- The inhabitants of the continent of /VT/ are generally distinguished by the god they worship. The biology of these inhabitants vary based on the god they serve. The base form of the inhabitants are that of humans, but they have been twisted by their worship to their gods. Large scale, organized, and centralized societies are not very common on the continent as most of the inhabitants are unable to organize and plan effectively enough to form those types of large scale societies. The nature of societies on the continent vary based on what god is worshipped. Food and drink consumed by the inhabitants are generally consumable by normal humans, but may taste strange or outright horrid to humans. Reproduction methods like many other aspects varies based on the god worshipped, but in most cases mirror that of humans with some exceptions.
- Large scale agriculture exists, but large scale industry does not. The majority of items are made by hand or in special workshops. Mass production is a complete unknown to the denizens of the continent. The population of the continent numbers in the billions despite the low level of tech.
- Fauna and Flora:
- In areas that are uninfluenced by the goddesses, the ecology is very similar to what is expected. In areas that have been tainted by the deities of the continent, numerous types of bizzare monstrosities and curiosities can appear. Most of the continent is populated by a mixture of normal wildlife and tainted creatures. Creatures tainted by the goddesses are normally not significantly more dangerous than normal animals, but are always far more aggressive than they typically should me.
- Religion:
- A large host of gods exist on the continent. Some are members of pantheons, others are not. The gods rely on the belief of their followers and in exchange give their followers power. They twist their followers into forms they see as more befitting to serve them. When their followers are in danger, the gods act as if they themselves are in danger as they derive their power from their followers. Despite the inhabitants of the continent being weak and disorganized, the intervention of the gods allow them to stand up to forces that would normally be insurmountable.
- Inhabitants will often offer sacrifices to the gods that range from food, money, and symbolic offerings to humans, themselves, and entire towns and villages. Sacrifices will often vary based on the god that is being worshipped. For example, in the inner sea they will often mutilate the genitals of prisoners and slaves, as well as their own in a sacrifical act for their god.
