An ex-con gets on a series of apparently unrelated killings. He gets tracked by a veteran cop with secrets of his own and an egocentric hit man.
A lone man, recently released from prison, seeks out the people from his past who he believes betrayed him. While he forces each to atone for their sins, he must also face what meting out vengeance will do to his immortal soul. Meanwhile, he's not the only one looking to settle old scores. Hired by the man responsible for the events which lead him to prison, an eccentric contract killer follows his every move. Scenes of them crossing paths, sometimes violently, are interspersed with the assassin's self-realizations of how to deal with struggles within his own life. As if old enemies & hired guns aren't enough, a young female detective begrudgingly works alongside a veteran investigator looking to simply survive his last two weeks on the force before retirement, as they seek out the brazen ex-con who has been blazing a path of gasoline-powered destruction in his vintage Chevelle.
This was better than I expected, I guess because its more than just a shoot-em-up action movie. There are 3 story lines running at the same time and initially you don&#39;t know why anyone is doing what they&#39;re doing. And its dark, wow its very dark. Dwayne Johnson plays &#39;Driver&#39; who after 10 years in prison has a singular focus, to avenge the murder of his brother. Now as a free man nothing and no one will get in his way and that includes the veteran cop and self absorbed hit-man tracking him.<br/><br/>Dwayne Johnson (besides being ginormous here ) barely speaks, seriously he might say 10 words for the whole movie, but he does a lot of acting with his eyes, conveying a range of emotions I didn&#39;t know he was capable of. Yeah his character is pretty focused and bitter. Billy Bob is, well Billy Bob which is a good thing and &quot;The Killer&quot; was an interesting character too. The ending of this really threw me, No way! I had to rewind it at two different points because I couldn&#39;t believe that &quot;that&quot; actually happened. 04.13
This Movie is horrible you sit there waiting for some sort of coherent storyline, which never gets delivered. The acting is decent but the direction does not exist and the production values equal public access. You keep wishing that you were shot in head instead having to endure this movie.<br/><br/>Where is a good action film like Commando, Raw Deal or payback. Story is more important than pointless violence. The movie reaches laughable level when one of the gang that killed the Rock&#39;s brother passes him his cell phone moments after being stabbed in the heart with an ice pick ask him to call his son and tell him he&#39;s sorry. I wish Mr. Johnson said &quot;F*** off this isn&#39;t the absolution hot line&quot; my two cents
Dwayne Johnson leaves his lovable self behind in the violent but bland Faster.
