So i've been playing on gotravspeed servers for over 8 months now and I think I've ironed out a strategy on how to win more servers.

To the point what you 100% NEED:
1. A lot of freetime. At least 3h a day.
2. Will to play, even losing battles.
3. 2$ so you can unlock fast raids.

Strategy:
First I want to talk about strategy in defense and offence. Also the importance of knowing what players you're up against.

Defense:
The best def troops:
1. Praetorian
2. Phalanx
3. Spearman

Offence:
The best attack troops:
1. Macemen
2. Swordmen
3. Imperian

In order to win at Travian you will need to know how to attack.
Here are my top picks for how to beat your foe to the ground.

1.
In order to properly build up a army. And if you want to really hit hard. Then build 400b Phalanx and then switch tribe. Your defense force now becomes a strong attacking army of like +450b Macemen and you can hit everything super hard enough to break most walls in the mid game. Your enemies are now dust.

2.
If you don't want to deal with the issues of poor Macemen defense after the attack you can pick another option instead. Build Praetorian and then switch tribe so your army becomes Swordmen. Its way weaker but gets the job done... most of the time with enough support.

3.
Build Macemen from the start and smash down your rival early.
