「し、しかし、あれの操縦装置は

Dr. Morimori: B-But the control device is here at the Photon Power Lab!

せわし博士
「にも関わらず、勝手に動くなど
あり得ませんわい!」
Dr. Sewashi: It’s moving on its own, even without it!

のっそり博士
「何故、あれは動き出したんじゃ!?
そして、何をするつもりなんじゃ!?」
Dr. Nossori: But WHY is it moving!? And what are we going to do about it!?

(数日前から前兆はあったが、
直接のきっかけとなったのは…)
Prof. Yumi: (It has been showing signs of activating for the past few days, but this happened immediately after...)

(あしゅら男爵に奪われたマジンガーZなのか…!?
そうだとしたら、あれはどうやって
そのことを知ったのだ…!?)
Prof. Yumi: (After Baron Ashura stole Mazinger Z...!? But then how would it have even known about that...!?)

「弓教授!」
Koji: Professor Yumi!

弓教授
「甲児君、戻ったか…!」
Prof. Yumi: Koji, you’ve returned...!

「す、すみません、マジンガーZが…!」
Koji: I-I’m sorry, Mazinger Z was--!

(The screen shakes.)

「また地震!?」
Koji: Another earthquake!?

「いや、この振動は…!
第7格納庫が内部から壊されとるんじゃ!」
Dr. Sewashi: No, these vibrations are...! Hanger 7 is being destroyed from the inside!

弓教授
(まさか、あれが外に出ようとしているのか…!?)
Prof. Yumi: (Impossible, is it trying to get outside...!?)

甲児
「いったい、何が起きてるんです!?
第7格納庫って、何なんです!?
光子力研究所の格納庫は第6までじゃ…!」
Koji: What the heck’s going on!? What do you mean “Hanger 7”!? The Photon Power Lab’s hangers only go up to 6...!

弓教授
「むう…
かくなる上は、君に真実を伝えねばなるまい」
Prof. Yumi: Hm... I suppose it’s time I told you the truth.

「真実…!?」
Koji: The truth...!?

弓教授
「うむ、第7格納庫とは便宜上の名称でね。
この研究所の敷地内にある施設ではない」
Prof. Yumi: Yes. Hanger 7 is merely a name for convenience’s sake. It’s not actually a facility located within the laboratory.

「ここから離れた所の地下にある、
秘密の格納庫なのだ。そして、それは
兜十蔵博士によって建造された」
Prof. Yumi: It’s a secret hanger located underground in a separate location. And it was built by Dr. Juzo Kabuto.

「そ、そんな話、おじいさんから聞いてませんよ!」
Koji: N-No way! I never heard anything like that from my granddad!

「そうだろうな。
我々も博士から第7格納庫のことは
君に伏せておくよう言われていた」
Prof. Yumi: Naturally. Because the doctor instructed us to keep its existence hidden from you.

「格納庫の中には何が入ってるんです!?」
Koji: So what’s even in this hanger!?

弓教授
「その名は『皇帝』…」
Prof. Yumi: It’s called the “Emperor”...

甲児
「!」
Koji: !

弓教授
「最強の鉄の城だと聞いている」
Prof. Yumi: It’s said that it is the strongest ‘iron castle’ in the world.

甲児
「『皇帝』…最強…!」
Koji: “Emperor”... The strongest...!

弓教授
「それがどのような機体なのか、
我々も知らされていない。第7格納庫は
厳重に封印され、内部を見ることも出来ない」
Prof. Yumi: We haven’t even been informed of what kind of machine it is. Hanger 7 has been locked tight enough that we can’t even so much as see what’s inside of it.

「兜博士は、いつの間に『皇帝』を…!?」
Jun: When did Juzo Kabuto make this “Emperor”...!?

弓教授
「マジンガーZの後に造られた物であることは
間違いない。そして、それは今、操縦者を
欠いた状態で動き始めたのだ」
Prof. Yumi: It was doubtlessly created sometime after Mazinger Z was. And now it has begun moving without a pilot to control it.

「!!」
Koji: !!

弓教授
「予め組み込まれたプログラムなのか、
暴走しているのかわからんが…」
Prof. Yumi: It’s possible this is the result of some programming that was installed beforehand, but I can’t say for sure it’s not simply gone berserk...

「マジンガーZを遙かに凌駕する
[光子力エネルギー]が検出されている。
暴走だとしたら、非常に危険だ」
Prof. Yumi: We’ve detected a [Photon Power Energy] reading far away that greatly exceeds Mazinger Z’s capacity. If it has truly gone berserk, then this is a dire emergency.

「『皇帝』は、
人の手には負えない魔神となりかねん…!」
Prof. Yumi: The “Emperor” could rampage as an uncontrollable devil...!

甲児
「そんな!本当に制御できないんですか!?」
Koji: No! There has to be some way to control it, right!?

「いや、実はの…」
Dr. Morimori: Well, actually...

弓教授
「いけません、その話は!」
Prof. Yumi: Don’t even say it!

「あるんですね、制御方法が!教えて下さい!
俺が『皇帝』を止めてみせます!」
Koji: There is, isn’t there!? Please, tell me how! I’ll put a stop to the “Emperor”!

「『皇帝』が暴走しているんなら、

ただじゃ済まないでしょう!?」
Koji: If the “Emperor” has gone haywire, then isn’t it the Photon Power Lab’s job to stop it!?

「マジンガーZを奪われ、
ロンド・ベルのみんなもいない今、その制御方法で
『皇帝』を止めなきゃならない!」
Koji:  With Mazinger Z stolen and Londo Bell away, we have no choice but to use this control method to stop the “Emperor”!

「そして、それはおじいちゃんの孫である
俺の役目なんです!!」
Koji: Not to mention, it’s my duty as Juzo Kabuto’s grandson!

俺に『皇帝』の制御方法を教えて下さい!!」
Koji: Please! Please tell me how I can control the “Emperor”!!

「マジンガーZと同じく、操縦装置となる。

発揮する『皇帝』を本当に制御できるかどうか…」
Prof. Yumi: It functions as the control device, just as with Mazinger Z. However, the “Emperor” holds enough frightening power to move even without a Plider. I must wonder if it can truly be controlled at all...

「加えて、あれには我々の計り知れぬシステムが
組み込まれている可能性もある」
Prof. Yumi: Furthermore, it may possess more systems than we are even aware of.

「教授、たとえ『皇帝』が魔神であろうと、
おじいさんが造った物ならば…」
Koji: Professor, even if the “Emperor” is a devil, if it’s something my granddad made...

「人の頭脳を、人の心を加えた時には
マジンガーになるはずです!」
Koji: Then when you combine it with a person’s mind and heart, it’ll become a Mazinger!

Episode 75
The Mazin Emperor


(Scene begins on the map screen of the Photon Power Lab. Devilman, Kamille, and Akito are surrounded by Mechanical Beasts.)

デビルマン
「残るはあいつらだけか!
さっさと片付けて、マジンガーZを
取り返しに行くぞ!」
Devilman: These guys are all that’s left! Let’s clear ‘em out and get after Mazinger Z!

カミーユ
「ああ!」
Kamille: Right!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

デビルマン
「よし、片付いた!
マジンガーZを追いかけるぞ!」
Devilman: Alright, that’s taken care of! Now after Mazinger Z!

アキト
「お前はここに残れ」
Akito: You should stay here.

デビルマン
「何!?」
Devilman: What!?

アキト
「俺とカミーユの機体は速い。
お前は光子力研究所を守るんだ」
Akito: Mine and Kamille’s machines are fast. You should protect the Photon Power Lab.

カミーユ
「その通りだ。
戦闘での消耗度は生身で戦ってる
お前の方が激しいからな」
Kamille: He’s right. Prolonged battles are harder on you since you’re fighting with your physical body.

デビルマン
「だからって…」
Devilman: That doesn’t mean I can’t--

アキト
「マジンガーZが悪の手に落ちるのは見過ごせない。
必ず取り戻す」
Akito: We won’t allow Mazinger Z to fall into the wrong hands. We’ll get it back.

デビルマン
「あんたがそんなことを言うとは…」
Devilman: Can’t believe you’re the one saying that...

(A Plider appears on the map.)

デビルマン
「何だ!?」
Devilman: The hell!?

カミーユ
「戦闘機…!」
Kamille: A Mechanical Beast...!?

甲児
「こ、このっ!
パイルダーだってのに、何てじゃじゃ馬だ!」
Koji: H-Holy...! It’s just a Pilder, but it’s like a raging stallion!

カミーユ
「甲児!?」
Kamille: Koji!?

甲児
「けど、乗りこなしてやる!『皇帝』もな!!」
Koji: But I’ll tame it all the same! And the “Emperor” too!!

カミーユ
「『皇帝』!?何なんだ、それは!?」
Kamille: “Emperor”!? What are you talking about!?

甲児
「行くぜぇっ!!」
Koji: Here I go!!

(Koji leaves the map.)

カミーユ
「速い!」
Kamille: So fast!

アキト
「後を追うぞ」
Akito: Let’s go after him.

カミーユ
「了解!」
Kamille: Right!


(Scene changes to a map screen of a forest. Baron Ashura is piloting Mazinger Z with several Mechanical Beasts around.)


あしゅら男爵
「ぬう、光子力エネルギーの反応が高まる一方だ。
いったい、何だ?あそこの下に何がある?」
Baron Ashura: Hm, the Photon Power Energy reading is only growing larger. Just what is it? What could possibly be down there?

あしゅら男爵
「一刻も早くマジンガーZを
持ち帰らねばならぬが…調べておくか」
Baron Ashura: I must take Mazinger Z back with me quickly... But I should still investigate.

あしゅら男爵
「ええい、先程から警報がうるさいわ」
Baron Ashura: Ngh, that was a rather noisy alarm just now.

あしゅら男爵
「そうか、悲鳴を上げておるのか、マジンガーZ!
貴様は我が手先に、世界を恐怖に陥れる
魔神になったのだからな!」
Baron Ashura: Ah, I see, it’s Mazinger Z’s screams! While under my control, you will become a devil that drowns the world in terror!

あしゅら男爵
「泣くがいい!喚くがいい!ふははははは!」
Baron Ashura: Cry and shout as much as you like! Mwahahahaha!

あしゅら男爵
「むっ、あそこに地割れが…!
何か出て来るのか?」
Baron Ashura: Ah, there’s a split in the ground over there...! Is something coming out of it?

(Mazinkaiser appears.)

あしゅら男爵
「あ、あれは!」
Baron Ashura: Th-That’s...!

あしゅら男爵
「あの姿、あの色…!Zやグレート以外の
マジンガーが存在していたとは驚きだが、
彼奴が光子力エネルギーの反応源だな!」
Baron Ashura: That shape, those colors...! This is certainly where the Photon Power Energy reading was coming from! Though I am amazed to see a Mazinger other than Z or Great.

あしゅら男爵
「おそらく、我らの足を止めるため、
隠してあった物を出したのだろうが、
頭にパイルダーが入っておらぬ!」
Baron Ashura: It must have come out of hiding to stop us, but it doesn’t have a Pilder on its head!

あしゅら男爵
「つまり、ただの木偶人形よ!
あのマジンガーも手に入れてくれるわ!」
Baron Ashura: Which means it’s barely more than a doll! I’ll take that Mazinger with me as well then!

(Mazinkaiser moves forward and attacks Baron Ashura.)

あしゅら男爵
「な、何っ!?
馬鹿な、パイルダーなしで戦えるのか!?」
Baron Ashura: Wh-What!? It can’t be! It can fight even without a Pilder!?

(Koji appears.)

甲児
「間に合ったぜ!」
Koji: I made it!

あしゅら男爵
「何だ、あの戦闘機は!?」
Baron Ashura: What!? A fighter plane!?

甲児
「くっ!『皇帝』は見境なしに攻撃するのか!
このままだと、あいつは本物の悪魔になっちまう!」
Koji: Tch! The “Emperor’s” just attacking whatever it sees! It really will become a devil at this rate!

甲児
「だが、そんなことはさせねえ!
この俺が今!正義の心を!」
Koji: But I won’t let that happen! Now, I’ll show it what a heart of justice really is!

甲児
「パイルダーオーーーーン!!」
Koji: PILDER OOOOOON!!

(Koji flies towards Mazinkaiser and docks with it.)

甲児
「よし、成功だ!!」
Koji: Alright, it worked!!

あしゅら男爵
「あ、あれはパイルダーだったのか!!」
Baron Ashura: Th-That was a Pilder!?

甲児
「俺の言うことを聞け、『皇帝』!!」
Koji: Listen to me, “Emperor”!!

(There’s no face or name given for this character, but it’s Juzo Kabuto.)

「甲児…甲児よ。
ワシの想定通りならば、お前は今、
カイザーパイルダーの中にいるはずじゃ」
???:  Koji... Koji. If my assumption is correct, then you should be in the Kaiser Pilder right now.

甲児
「こ、この声は、おじいちゃん!」
Koji: Th-This voice...! Granddad!

???
「ワシは声を聞いた…
災厄を呼ぶ門が開かれ、数多の世界が戦乱に
巻き込まれて、未曾有の危機に陥るという声を」
???: Listen to my words... The gates to calamity have opened, a multitude of worlds are caught in a myriad of conflicts, and a voice of warning tells of an untold danger.

Koji: !

「だから、ワシは造り上げた。
マジンガーZを、グレートマジンガーを凌ぐ
スーパーロボット、マジンカイザーを」
???: That is why I have created this. A super robot that surpasses both Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger. Mazinkaiser.

Koji: Mazinkaiser!?

「マジンガーZがあれば、
お前は神にも悪魔にもなれる…」
???: With Mazinger Z, you could become either a god or a devil...

悪魔も倒せるのだ」

Koji: To transcend god... To defeat the devil... I...!

「彼奴め、動かなくなったぞ。
見た目は仰々しいが、やはり木偶人形か?」
Baron Ashura: He hasn’t moved. It looks striking, but perhaps it’s still no more than a doll?

「おじいちゃん、俺は…
世界に君臨するつもりもなけりゃ、
世界を滅ぼす気もねえ…!」
Koji: Granddad, I... I don’t plan to control the world, and I don’t want to destroy it either...!

甲児
「俺は!争い絶えない世界の中で、
幸せを求めて悪を討つ!」
Koji: In this world of constant strife, I fight back evil for the sake of happiness!

「だから、正義の魔神として、俺と共に戦ってくれ!
そのパワーで世界を守っていくんだ!
マジンカイザー!!」
Koji: That’s why you’ll fight with me as a devil of justice! And use your power to protect the world! Mazinkaiser!!

「な、何だ、この光子力エネルギー値は!?」
Baron Ashura: Wh-What is this absurd Photon Power Energy reading!?

(Kamille and Akito appear.)

カミーユ
「あ、あれは!」
Kamille: Th-That’s a...!

アキト
「新たなマジンガーか?」
Akito: A new Mazinger?

甲児
「そうだ、こいつの名はマジンカイザー!
最強のマジンガーだ!」
Koji: Yeah, and its name is Mazinkaiser! The STRONGEST Mazinger!

カミーユ
「そんな機体があったなんて…!」
Kamille: I had no idea a machine like that existed...!

甲児
「俺もさっき知ったばかりだけどな!」
Koji: Yeah, I didn’t either until a little while ago!

あしゅら男爵
「ちっ、追っ手が増えたか!」
Baron Ashura: Tch, now there are even more pursuers!

甲児
「あしゅら男爵!
お前にマジンガーZは渡さねえ!
このマジンカイザーで取り返してやる!」
Koji: Baron Ashura! You aren’t getting away with Mazinger Z! Because Mazinkaiser’s gonna get it back!

あしゅら男爵
「マジンカイザー…!?
しかも、兜甲児が乗っておるのか!」
Baron Ashura: Mazinkaiser...!? And Koji Kabuto’s the pilot as well!

甲児
「行くぞ!覚悟しやがれ!!」
Koji:  Let’s do this! Get ready for a world of hurt!!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This line triggers if Koji battles a Mechanical Beast.)

甲児
「くっ、動かすだけで脳天にジンジン響きやがる!
だけど、乗りこなしてみせるぜ!!」
Koji: Ugh, just moving this thing makes my head start ringing! But I’m gonna push through!!

(This exchange triggers if Koji battles Baron Ashura.)

甲児
「あしゅら男爵!
生命が惜しけりゃ、すぐに降りやがれ!」
Koji: Baron Ashura! If you value your life, then you better bail out right now!

あしゅら男爵
「ほざけ!
貴様こそ、マジンガーZを破壊できまい!
そこに隙が出来るはず!返り討ちにしてくれる!」
Baron Ashura: Tough words! But you won’t destroy Mazinger Z! Once you’ve left yourself open, I’ll turn the tables on you!

甲児
「仕方がねえ!
マジンガーZ、手荒に行くが耐えてくれよ!」
Koji: No other choice then! Mazinger Z, hang in there, because this is about to get rough!

(Battle 2 ends when Baron Ashura is defeated.)

あしゅら男爵
「うぬっ!どうした、マジンガーZ!?
動け!動くのだ!!」
Baron Ashura: Agh! What’s wrong, Mazinger Z!? Move! Move, I say!

甲児
「さ…さあ、どうする…!?
マジンガーZに乗ったまま
俺達に捕まるか、それとも…」
Koji: S...So... What’s it gonna be...!? You can either stay inside Mazinger Z and we capture you, or...

あしゅら男爵
「お、おのれ!おのれ、兜甲児!
この屈辱、忘れはせんぞ!!」
Baron Ashura: D-Damn you! Damn you, Koji Kabuto! I will never forget this humiliation!!

(Baron Ashura leaps off from Mazinger Z.)

「ヘッ、あしゅらめ…飛び降りやがったか…」
Koji: Heh, so Ashura...went and jumped...

アキト
「生身でも逃げ足は速いな」
Akito: He’s fast to be able to escape on foot like that.

カミーユ
「追った方がいいんじゃないですか!?」
Kamille: Shouldn’t we go after him!?

甲児
「ほ、放っとけ…
こ、こっちはそろそろ…限界だぜ…」
Koji: L-Let him go... I-I’m kinda...at my limit...

カミーユ
「甲児!?」
Kamille: Koji!?

カミーユ
「どうした、甲児!?甲児!!」
Kamille: What’s wrong, Koji!? Koji!!

「…マジンカイザーは凄い、凄いのう。
破壊力抜群の武器ばかりじゃ」
Dr. Sewashi: ...Mazinkaiser is just amazing, simply amazing. So much destructive power lies in its weapons alone.

のっそり博士
「ボディは従来の超合金を遙かに凌ぐ
超合金ニューZα。防御の方もぬかりはないのう」
Dr. Nossori: Its body is made of Superalloy New Zα, which far surpasses the Superalloy we’ve used thus far. Its defenses leave nothing wanting.

もりもり博士
「しかし、兜博士はあれだけのロボットを
本当に一人で造り上げたのですかなあ」
Dr. Morimori: But I can’t help but wonder if Dr. Kabuto really built it all by himself.

弓教授
「マジンカイザー…
まさしくマジンガーを超えたマジンガーだが…」
Prof. Yumi: Mazinkaiser... It’s a Mazinger to surpass Mazingers, that’s for certain...

弓教授
「我々で調べたところ、操縦方法を誤ると
その制御を失い、操縦者の肉体に
相当のダメージを与えることがわかった」
Prof. Yumi: Our examination of Mazinkaiser revealed that one slip up with its operation can result in it running rampant, as well as endanger the life of the one piloting it.

甲児
「でも…慣れりゃあ、平気ですよ」
Koji: Well... It’ll be fine once I get used to it.

カミーユ
「だけど、あの時は気絶したじゃないか」
Kamille: You say that, but it already caused you to fall unconscious before.

ジュン
「それで、さっきまで眠ってたでしょ。
本当に大丈夫なの?」
Jun: That’s why you were asleep until a short while ago. Are you sure you’re alright?

甲児
「確かに、カイザーの操縦は
とんでもなくデカいバイクを転がす感じ…
いや、それ以上だった」
Koji: I mean, it’s true that piloting Kaiser was like trying to get the handle on a ridiculously huge bike... No, it was even harder than that.

甲児
「けど、俺がおじいちゃんのマジンガーに
誰よりも長く乗ってるんだ」
Koji: But I’ve been piloting one of my granddad’s Mazingers longer than anyone else.

甲児
「カイザーに暴走の危険性があっても、
必ず制御してみせるぜ」
Koji: Even if there’s a chance Kaiser might go berserk, I’ll still manage to rein it in.

俺の中にもデーモンとしての衝動があるからな…)
Akira: (I get how he feels. There’s an urge in me to act like a Demon too...)

「甲児、もしマジンカイザーが暴走して
お前がそれを抑えられなかったら…
俺達が何とかしてやるよ」
Akira: Koji, if there’s ever a time Mazinkaiser goes berserk and you can’t control it... Then we’ll do something about it.

そう言ってもらえると心強いぜ」
Koji: I don’t want to ask too much of you guys, but it’s good to hear you say that.

マジンカイザーは言わばデビルマシン、
俺はデビルマンだからな」
Akira: Well, we’re in the same boat here. Mazinkaiser is a devil machine, and I’m a Devilman.

(どちらも悪魔の力を秘めているということか…)
Koji: (Both of us have the power of a devil inside, huh...)

マジンカイザーをもっと詳しく調査せねばな」

「教授、実は気になってることがありまして…」

Prof. Yumi: That may explain why Mazinkaiser had been showing more signs of awakening as of late.

「そのことも含め、マジンカイザーには

Prof. Yumi: That is precisely why I said we must take the time necessary to properly examine Mazinkaiser.

Koji: I dunno, Professor. There’s a lot of troubles going on, not just in this world, but in others too.

Prof. Yumi: But if something goes awry, your own body could be torn to shreds, with no way to recovery you.

Dr. Morimori: In that case, we’ll just have to set a limiter in place ourselves.

「そうそう、甲児君が慣れるまで
マジンカイザーが全力を発揮しないようにの」
Dr. Sewashi: Right, just enough to make sure Mazinkaiser doesn’t go out of control until Koji is accustomed to it.

甲児
「そいつは、どれぐらいで取り付けられるんです?」
Koji: And how soon can you get that installed?

のっそり博士
「まあ、3日もあれば大丈夫じゃわい」
Dr. Nossori: Well, I’d say 3 more days ought to do it.

甲児
「じゃあ、お願いします!
教授、それならいいですよね?」
Koji: Then please, do it! Will you be alright with that, Professor?

弓教授
「…ああ、良かろう」
Prof. Yumi: ...Yes, that will do.

甲児
「あと、マジンガーZの修理もお願いします。
もし、ラー・カイラムの方で問題なければ、
持って行きたいんで」
Koji: Also, I’d like to have Mazinger Z repaired too. So long as the guys at the Ra Cailum don’t have a problem with it, I wanna take it with me.

もりもり博士
「じゃが、マジンカイザーがあれば、
あれを使わなくてもいいじゃろう」
Dr. Morimori: But you won’t have a use for it with Mazinkaiser.

「いえ、カイザーに何かあった場合、
マジンガーZで戦うつもりです」
Koji: No, if something happens to Mazinkaiser, then I plan to use Mazinger Z to fight instead.

甲児
「ずっと一緒に戦ってきた、
揺るぎなき力を湛えた鉄の城…
あいつには、愛着がありますから」
