  1. <scribe> They seem to still be there somewhere because I cannot create an account with one of their names (I get "user already exists" or similar)
  2. <scribe> I cannot find them for the life of me.
  3. <scribe> I've searched through the user list. I've tried showing All User, but nothing.
  4. <scribe> If I look in the User_ database table, I still see them.
  5. <scribe> My colleague says he tried to associate them to a new organization.
  6. <scribe> When we go to Site Memeberships, they are shown.
  7. <scribe> but they cannot login
  8. <scribe> any ideas what he might have done?
  9. <cedricbr> hi scribe
  10. <cedricbr> it seems to me your users are inactive
  11. <scribe> Hi cedricbr
  12. <scribe> there was something in the advanced search where we could selected "Any Status"
  13. <cedricbr> by default, in the admin control panel, you see the users who are active
  14. <scribe> but we couldn't seem select both "Any Status" and "All Users" at the same time
  15. <cedricbr> (opening my control panel)
  16. <cedricbr> which version of Liferay are you using?
  17. <scribe> When we Select "All Users" we see a couple extra users for the other Organization/Site
  18. <scribe> 6.1pre
  19. <cedricbr> in the control panel, in the Users and organisations menu
  20. <cedricbr> you can make "View all users"
  21. <cedricbr> then you will get an advanced link
  22. <cedricbr> under the search box
  23. <cedricbr> in this advanced menu, you can select the status
  24. <cedricbr> by default it is active
  25. <scribe> right, here's the problem.
  26. <cedricbr> I think you will then see your inactive accounts
  27. <scribe> When we first go to Users and Organizations...
  28. <cedricbr> which prevents you from creating new accounts
  29. <scribe> we get 7 results.
  30. <scribe> (7 users)
  31. <cedricbr> yes
  32. <scribe> when I click Show All Users...
  33. <scribe> View All Users show 10 results.
  34. <cedricbr> ah
  35. <cedricbr> maybe you have some users for specific organizations ?
  36. <scribe> yes.
  37. <scribe> My colleague tried to move users to a new organization.
  38. <scribe> but we can't find them.
  39. <scribe> so, moving on...
  40. <scribe> when I click the advanced link and then select Status: Any Status...
  41. <scribe> I get 7 users again.
  42. <cedricbr> if you combine, view all users + choose to see users with all status in the advanced link, you should be able to see everyone ...
  43. <scribe> right, how do I combine?
  44. <cedricbr> first choose "view / all users"
  45. <scribe> done, 10 users.
  46. <bjornjohansson> Did you try to reindex?
  47. <cedricbr> then go in the advanced link menu
  48. <cedricbr> and then choose the status
  49. <bjornjohansson> under server administration
  50. <cedricbr> yes maybe you can try to reindex too
  51. <scribe> yeah, I and click Status: Any Status.
  52. <scribe> and it goes to 7
  53. <scribe> It is not combining.
  54. <cedricbr> ok ...
  55. <cedricbr> I don't know then, sorry :s
  56. <scribe> trying to reindex....
  57. <scribe> ok, just tried reindexing...
  58. <scribe> Now all users are gone
  59. <scribe> no one shows up anymore.
  60. <cedricbr> restart your liferay ...
  61. <cedricbr> it means you've just changed the way to connect to your liferay ?
  62. <cedricbr> you've just configured an ldap ?
  63. <cedricbr> because reindexing should not have make you loose your users
  64. <scribe> I'm restarting.
  65. <scribe> No, we are not using ldap
  66. <scribe> still waiting for liferay to restart....
  67. <scribe> 12:30:07,469 ERROR [LuceneIndexer:128] Error encountered while reindexing
  68. <scribe> java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates its general contract!
  69. <scribe> at java.util.TimSort.mergeLo(TimSort.java:747)
  70. <scribe> Any advice?
  71. <cedricbr> the lucene index in the data/lucene folder of your liferay server seems corrupted
  72. <scribe> When I hit reindex, I get that error from the tomcat logs.
  73. * rotty3000 has quit (Quit: Leaving.)
  74. <cedricbr> I'm not sure here, but I think the index should be recreated if you move this folder, and restart your liferay agian
  75. * rotty3000 (~rotty@74.210.31.18) has joined #liferay
  76. * ChanServ gives channel operator status to rotty3000
  77. <rotty3000> Morning All!
