  1. [Read] //tooltip- Have a look at one of Sylvia's books.
  2. Looking for something to do, you espy the bookshelf Sylvia keeps at the back of the main room. [if (Dolores) {Well, you know how much enjoyment your daughter's gotten out of it|Sylvia seems to have built up quite the collection}], so you decide that you like to sample her literary selection. When you bring it up with the moth-girl, she graces you with a gentle smile.
  3.
  4. [say:Of course, be my guest. If you need a recommendation, let me know, but otherwise, have at it.]
  5.
  6. After saying this, Sylvia directs you to a chair by the shelf and then disappears for a moment. It's easily close enough to reach the books, so you take a seat and start scanning the spines. After about a minute has passed, the moth-girl returns with a candle in hand. Its illumination seems far more suited to reading than the dim light of the cave, and you [if (cor < 50) {thank Sylvia for|gladly accept}] the help.
  7.
  8. There's so much there that you're nearly overwhelmed with choice, so without further ado, you pick something at random.
  9. //Random
  10. //1
  11. You take out a volume of "Tambow." It's a bit dated, and some of the language is unfamiliar to you, but you find yourself enjoying it nonetheless. Five minutes later, you've finished the first sentence. Pretty good, but maybe a few too many geographical euphemisms.
  12. //2
  13. You blow the dust off the cover of someone named Fulicre. The cover is fairly unassuming, and everything seems perfectly fine at the start, but by a couple pages in, you've been exposed to things that'll keep you company in your sleep for some time to come.
  14. //3
  15. You find a series of short poems by someone named Hitchgean. They seem fairly varied—almost schizophrenic—in topic, and downright vitriolic in tone, but there's a certain charm there that you can't deny.
  16. //4
  17. You pull out a well-worn tome with "Olensbain" on the front cover. It's a heartwarming, maybe slightly sappy romance novel. But wait, didn't you just read that sentence? You look back, and there it is, word for word. How strange.
  18. //5
  19. By the edge of the shelf there's a book by one O. C. Aeconthorn, which you proceed to flip open. Interesting stuff, but strangely every word seems to be lowercase, except for a lone "Corruption".
  20.
  21. Having made your selection, you settle in and get to reading. The next period of time is spent in complete silence as the cave around you fades into the background. When you look up, you see that the candle has burned down far more than you expected it to. Seems you were just particularly engrossed, but no matter, you had a nice time[if (int < 50) {, and you think you might have even learned something}]. You return the book to its rightful place on the shelf and look around.
  22.
  23. Sylvia is still sitting at the table, now idly staring off into the distance. When she sees you there, she immediately perks up, swooping out of her chair and over to you for a light peck.
  24.
  25. [say:Well, did you find anything interesting?] she asks.
  26.
  27. You tell her your impressions, and she listens attentively for several minutes, but eventually, it's time to go. You[if (dom < 50) { draw her|'re drawn}] into a brief kiss before the moth helps you up and sends you on your way.
  28.
  29. //Int gain up to a cap (50?)
