- ===MASTERERIC'S FPS STYLE™ CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM===
- In my experience, almost every FPS game can be filtered into one of three categories.
- I have named these after a staple of each category.
- * COUNTER-STRIKE
- Slow-paced, and tactical. Rushing in immediately will get you killed quickly.
- In many of these games, there are often no objectives other than deathmatch, and in some, you don't respawn after dying.
- Pro players have expert twitch aiming skills and are effective at handling weapon recoil.
- Games in this category include Call of Duty, Battlefield, Counter-Strike, and Dirty Bomb.
- * TEAM FORTRESS 2
- Faster paced, team-focused, and objective-based. Winning will require working with your team.
- In many of these games, you respawn quickly, and your goal is to capture objectives rather than killing players.
- Pro players can coordinate pushes with their team, and know how to use support abilites effectively.
- Games in this category include Team Fortress 2, and Overwatch
- * QUAKE
- Very fast paced, skill-based. In many of these games, weapons like railguns kill opponents in one or two hits.
- In many of these games, there are advanced movement techniques like wall jumping or dashing.
- Pro players can hit their fast-moving opponents before they get hit.
- Games in this category include Quake and Unreal Tournament.
