  4. Patrick received his Ph.D. from University of Virginia. He is currently a Har
  5. ry S. Truman Postdoctoral Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque,
  6. NM. He will join the faculty of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Depar
  7. tment at University of Virginia as an Assistant Professor in October, 2011.

  9. | Prof. Eric Loth is a graduate from of the University of Michigan where he obt
  10. ained a Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a dissertation on experiment
  11. s of multiphase supersonic turbulent flows. He earned M.S. and B.S. degrees fro
  12. m Pennsylvania State University and West Virginia University, also in Aerospace
  13. Engineering, where he conducted research in the area of aerodynamic simulations.
  14. In 1990, he joined the University of Illinois as an Assistant Professor in the
  15. Aerospace Engineering Department and rose to Associate and then Full Professor
  16. by 2002. In that year, he was also named a Willett Faculty Scholar of the Coll
  17. ege of Engineering. In 2008, he was also appointed the Associate Head of Underg
  18. raduate Studies. He has held visiting appointments at University of Cambridge,
  19. Brown University, University of California San Diego, the National Energy Techno
  20. logy Laboratory and the Arnold Engineering and Development Center. In January 20
  21. 10, he joined the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the Univer
  22. sity of Virginia as Associate Chair of Aerospace Engineering.

  24. Costin D. Untaroiu joined the University of Virginia faculty in May of 2008 a
  25. nd leads the computational group of the Center of Applied Biomechanics. He recei
  26. ved a Diploma (B.S. & M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical
  27. Vibrations from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest (Romania), a Diploma in
  28. Applied Mathematics from the University of Bucharest, and a Ph.D. in Impact Biom
  29. echanics from the University of Virginia.

  31. Gavin Garner joined the University of Virginia faculty in 2009. He holds a bac
  32. helor\92s degree in Physics from Colby College and Master\92s and Ph.D. degrees
  33. from the University of Virginia in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He work
  34. ed as a mechanical engineer for AMF Bowling Worldwide, Inc. before beginning his
  35. graduate studies.

  37. Dr. Garner is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (
  38. ASME) and was honored as an ASME graduate teaching fellow from 2007 to 2009. He
  39. currently serves as the faculty advisor for UVA\92s student chapter of ASME.
