- 'Sup, doods!
- I have a week off from my job as I tend to take every Thanksgiving week. Going into this 'Year of Doing' that I anointed 2024 as, I was planning on this being the time where I put the finishing touches on my launch of my tutorial series and ramp up the streaming schedule to where I ultimately want it to be. I think I've spent this year making about 30% progress towards that goal. If I wasn't so bent on saving for a house payment, I would definitely confirm that ADHD diagnosis. Honestly, I've been letting the extra things I've tried to provide this year take up too much of my time. It was still worth it to set up everything, though. I still have a lot to set up still.
- One thing is clear in my mind, doods: I need to spend a long time on shorts this week and get them off my mind. I have to shuffle around my priorities to get to the things I really want to do.
- The thing I want to do most, doods, is stream. I streamed the entire Gary Open, the inaugural PPL monthly, in a long sitting that was good to have once, but needs a little more planning to not happen again. Maybe I'll then have a real chance to win the next one. I've decided as I construct this update that I am going to add a Wednesday broadcast to give myself a second time slot to qualify for the next open tournament. The weeks leading up to the monthly, itself, will still only have a Friday show to give myself time to ready the tournament, but weeks when qualifying is open will have the extra Wednesday to qualify. I'll see how this flow works for a bit.
- Now if you'll excuse me, doods, I need to run some errands. This week off is also giving me time to take care of some overdue obligations.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (this won't be going down for a while, will it):
- Goal #1: get current on YouTube Shorts. I have a little more than two months of clips to churn through this week.
- Goal #2 (formerly 7): script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
- Goal #5b: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournament and every other game we might play. I would love to clean this up before the Tetris Attack major in March.
- Goal #6a: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after, though I will put in any timer theme I can use from Pokémon Puzzle League upon request. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list.
- Goal #6b: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
- Goal #7 (formerly 2): edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week—and that S-Hard PB—and that V-Hard WR. Standalone archival videos are already attached to my speedrun profile. I'm hoping to make eye-catching productions from each speedrun. I'm considering it to be my personal test to be a YouTuber. I am failing miserably right now.
- Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
- This week's schedule:
- Wednesday @8pm – 11:30pm ET – Wild Cards Wednesday – Pokémon Puzzle League Brock Open Qualifying
- Friday @8pm – 11:30pm ET – Friday Night Salt Mines – Pokémon Puzzle League Brock Open Qualifying Again?
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
