- "HUMANS! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS SHALL SHOW YOU THE WAY!" Behind papyrus a group of humans straggled, looking at the windows in the mall. The twilight shone through the glass panes above colouring the world golden yellow. Papyrus stood in front of the gaggle of humans wearing his usual battle armour - the only difference being the large stamp on the back, written in large bold letter's. PAPYRUS - HUMAN/MONSTER RELATIONS. "TODAY'S CLASS WILL BE TAKING PLACE IN THIS MALL, AS YOU CAN SEE." Pepping up, one of the children in the group ran up to papyrus and hugged his knee. "But why mr Papy?" Papyrus smiled down at the human child. "WELL, YOUNG HUMAN. IT'S SIMPLE. I- THE GREAT PAPYRUS - NEEDED TO BUY SOMETHING, SO I THOUGHT TO KILL TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE! WAIT, NO, NOT KILL. ERR... AH! GETTING TWO OUTS WITH ONE PITCH IS A MUCH BETTER SAYING, YES!" The child giggled at the skeleton monster. "You're so silly mr skellington, but I like you anyway"
- As the sun set and the day went on, darkness overtook the orange washed mall. It emptied of people as time went on until Papyrus and his group were the only ones left. Next to the fountain spurting an assortment of different patterns of water, Papyrus regaled the class with his heroic adventures, of when he met Frisk, the human ambassador. How their friendship had bloomed, how papyrus had single handily helped save the underground by being the best friend he could be. Often, a child, or even an adult would pep up with questions. "How did Frisk save the underground?" "Why is he adopted by a monster family?" "Who is that handsome goat that follows Frisk around like a white shadow?" Papyrus had the answers, as always. "WITH MY HELP, OF COURSE!" "HE ADOPTED THEM, NOT THE OTHER WAY, HUMAN!" "THAT IS PRINCE ASRIEL, THE 2ND CLONE OF THE KING, ASGORE. THE FIRST BEING HIS WIFE, TORIEL."
- Papyrus revelled being the centre of attention. This class idea was both Frisk and his brothers. A way for humans who had perhaps lesser questions for the embassy to get answers. Often Papyrus would tour them around the embassy or perhaps the pathway of golden flowers but the mall made for a nice change of scene, he thought. "Nearly closing time", yelled one of the patrolling mall cops. "You'd best get going soon." Rounding up the humans, Papyrus began to usher them to the exit, eager to view the night sky with them. His favourite part of being on the surface. Minus being so popular, of course. Just as he reached for the door papyrus could feel something cold crawling up his spine. "HUMANS" he yelled, holding his arms before them. "PLEASE WALK BACK INTO THE MALL. I HAVE.. A BAD FEELING." The doors exploded outwards. Only Papyrus's bones shielded the gathering of people by sprouting from the ground and forming a makeshift wall.
- "Tch". Stepping from out of the wrecked doors, a long tall Lizard looking monster entered the mall. Blood spatter covered the thin shirt covering his torso. His compact yet incredibly dense arms hung loosely to the side. Almost comical if it wasn't for the dark red ichor dripping from them. "M..MONSTER! GET DOWN, SOMEONE IS TRYING TO HURT THE HU-" A spear blasted from monsters location towards Papyrus, crackling with energy. A bone appeared in papyrus hand as he batted it away, blasting it into the wall causing another explosion. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO SPAR, HELP ME GET THESE PEOPLE OUT OF HERE." A dark silhouette covered Monsters face as he trudged through the broken glass. It shattered under his feet. Crunch. Crunch. "Who are you to stop me, Paps? I'm doin somethin big here, yo. Don't get in my way." Leaping over the crowd, monster landed on a walkway suspended above the entrance that was used by anyone on the 2nd floor of the mall.
- "I'm going to fix this world and if I have to take you out to do it, I will." Spears began appearing around Monster one by one. Glowing in the darkening light. Behind him, two mall cops aimed their pistols while moving cautiously on his position. "Don't make another move, dudes. I'll split you in half." Throwing caution to the wind, the guard to the left aimed and shot. A flash of light covered the room and both guards vanished. "Well.. maybe I'll split you later. Behind monster, 7 souls coalesced, shimmering in the clinical mall light. Tied to monsters own soul, beating silently in front of him, they shone. 7 different colours for 7 different souls. "Now then.. Get out of the way, Papyrus." Raising his claw, Monster summoned a spear into it and took aim at the skeleton below.
- "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!" Papyrus screamed as he dodged the spear shaped blasts of energy. "MONSTER, I STILL BELEIVE IN YOU, PLEASE, DON'T HURT ANYONE, THESE PEOPLE HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO YOU." More energy blasts seared past Papyrus as he dodged and ducked. Hunkering over the walkway above, Monster was grinning. 7 souls floated behind him, tethered to his own soul with some sort of string. "They don't need to have done anything, Paps! I just want them dead. Don't get in my way, or else you'll be next. A barrage of spears Materialised in the air in front of the long monster and took aim for the group of humans huddling together behind papyrus. "PLEASE, MONSTER! I CAN'T FIGHT MY LITTLE PROTOGEE, YOU CAN'T MEAN THIS. WHAT WOULD UNDYNE THINK IF SHE SAW YOU LIKE THIS?!
- Monsters smile faltered for just a moment before returning, larger and more face-splitting than before. "Undyne?" he practically whispered. "UNDYNE?! YOU MEAN THE WOMAN WHO I WORSHIPPED? What a weakling she was! Beating her and her stupid partner was almost as easy as ripping these souls from the lifeless corpses of the humans I've already killed." Monsters voice echoed through the silent mall, bouncing off the walls. In the quiet, Papyrus shook. "YOU... KILLED... HUMANS..? WHY?!" Papyrus's anguish filled voice pierced the air in the mall hallway, the glass covering the shop fronts shivered in place. "Why?" Monsters question hung in the air. "I killed them.. because.. they don't deserve.. MERCY or love.. only LOVE. I got plenty of that to go around, Papyrus. I don't need these stinkin souls to take you down but I'm in a rush." Pulsing menacingly, the souls beat as one, sending coloured energy down the lines to Monsters soul. It exploded in a kaleidoscope of blinding colourful light. "STOP THIS, PLEASE. I CAN'T LET YOU HURT ANYBODY."
- Papyrus was shielding his sockets, trying to squint through the light to pin point where Monster was coming in from next. All he could see was the rainbow colour of the souls, shimmering against the white washed marble floors and walls. "STOP, PLEASE. I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT YOU." "Too late" A large blast of energy descended from the ceiling, smashing the glass sending it cascading down and piercing the people below with cuts and grazes. Papyrus braced himself and launched a wave of bones at the giant pointed block of light falling down on him and the humans behind him. A swift series of motions and he'd built an insanely large wall to try and block it. It creaked and groaned under the force as the beam leaned into it. "You can't block forever, Papyrus!" Monster yelled, wildly grinning and laughing madly. He'd never killed a monster before. Undyne and Alphys he'd trapped on his sick twisted tapestry, but Papyrus? No. This should be fun.
- Papyrus strained under the onslaught. If he could sweat, he'd be pouring buckets by now, he thought. No, he had to stop this. No one deserves to die. More bones erupted from the floor beneath supporting the giant bone wall he'd made earlier. Straining harder, Papyrus forced more bones to erupt from the walls, creating a pattern above his wall, piercing the energy spear one by one. "NGHAAAA. I. CAN'T. LET. YOU. DO... THIS!" One final push from papyrus and the bones shifted, ripping the energy apart one swipe at a time. Like a chef finely chopping greenery he chopped at the massive block of deadly energy. Reducing it with each swipe until eventually, with a huge roar, it was gone. The bones vanished as Papyrus stumbled and began to fall to the floor. Monster was there, waiting for him a spear in his tiny yet compactly muscled claw aiming directly for his chest. Closing his sockets, Papyrus thought of his brother and the people he'd failed to protect. "SANS.. I'M.. SORRY..."
- "for what, bro?" Papyrus opened his eyes to see Monster being blown away by a huge beam of energy. Before he hit the ground small yet firm phalanges caught him, holding him up. "have a nice trip?" Papyrus rolled his eyes at Sans as he was helped up. "TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SANS." "what can i say, bro - i know you liked me but - fallin for me? that's a bit too much." "SANS" papyrus screamed. "NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR JOKES! WE HAVE A ROGUE MONSTER ON THE LOOSE. WHAT DID YOU DO JUST NOW TO HIM?" Sans winked at his tall skeleton brother. "oh, nothin much. just introduced him to a friend of mines. he'll be back soon though, angrier than before. can ya take these fine people outta here bro. me and monster got somethin to talk about." Papyrus's jaw dropped to his chest as he stared at his brother. "YOU? TALK TO HIM? ARE YOU MAD?!" Sans chuckled as he stared ahead. "you believe in me right bro? and him, too?" Papyrus paused. "WELL. YES. OF CO-" Sans raised a hand as he squinted ahead. "then leave it to me bro. i'll sort him out." Papyrus sighed. Sans was the laziest person he knew but when he got like this.. "OK, BROTHER. I'LL COME BACK AFTER I'VE SAFELY PUT THESE HUMANS AWAY.
- The pile of rubble that lay in the corner where monster was blasted began to rumble as Papyrus ushered everyone away. Crying children and worrying parents eagerly accepted the Skeleton monsters directions. Covered in dust, the lanky lizard looking creature burst forth and bolted towards the small diminutive skeleton. "woah there, lil buddy, let's cool down" Sans said, his grin growing wider. Monster and the 7 souls behind him turned blue as he halted in the air, floating. "NGHH let me go asshole!" Sans tsk'd at the floating Monster in front of him. "now now, kiddo. i think you and me.. need to have a good long... "
- His right eye flashing blue and yellow, Sans stared deep into Monsters soul.
- "T A L K."
