  1. Alright to address the concerns here I'll start at the beginning. I am a very sarcastic person by nature for better or worse (usually worse). I tend to be a smart ass in a lot of ways, but usually it's for comedic effect. Unfortunately this doesn't always translate very well in a text based format. Something I want to make very clear is that most of this is to just be funny and "meta" about the whole thing. I do have a genuine love of RP and the game as a whole and I hope I make that clear in the question regarding what I think about RP. The opening bit regarding what's going on in the spur isn't supposed to be super harsh, it's just me trying to put some humor into the application. That said I stand by what I said about the last question, but we'll get there.

  5. Could you elaborate on how the recent changes in the Orion Spur have affected your character and/or career? Seiichi Iwai is a name I have not read on your list of currently existing characters so I reckon it's a  new one. Your answer is very vague, you have described in very broad terms what is happening across the known universe yet you barely touched on one of the characters you intend to bring as the Head of a department on the Aurora.

  9. I'll admit that this is pretty vague so let me elaborate a little. I was somewhat confused as to what exactly the app wanted me to say here in regards of "character" so I assumed it meant the one I was going to play rather than any previous characters. Afterall I could very easily explain how I lost one due to the events of KOTW and the choices some characters made, however it wouldn't be very relevant in my mind.
  10.
  11. To provide more detail: Seiichi is a NHP born Solarian who moved to Tau Ceti years before the actual KOTW arc even happened and has been working with the Company since then. He's ambitious and has had to crawl his way to get anywhere in the Company. While it's never explicitly stated I've assumed that Solarians have a negative stigma attached to them, especially after KOTW, so anyone trying to prove their worth has to also prove that they're not really tied to Sol in any way. You wouldn't expect a Solarian super patriot to get very far in a company hated by the Solarian government. Thus Iwai has had to work doubly hard and be careful in his dealings after KOTW since Solarians once again would be under heavy scrutiny. It's affected him in the same sense it's affected any Solarian, but doubly so as he's been trying to rise higher and higher. He's trying to get on that sigma male grindset.

  16. This answer is the one I disliked the most. A roleplayer's ability to stop and think whether their roleplay is conducted reasonably or unreasonably may be difficult but achievable. I believe it is important for a roleplayer, let alone who is aiming to obtain something as game-changing as a Command whitelist, to be self-conscious and evaluate their own level of ability as a writer and roleplayer.
  17. Not only you didn't answer it, you addressed it as "stupid" and consider it to be useless. This is not the kind of behavior I like to see from a player who wishes to obtain a Command whitelist.

  20. I expected there to be some problems when I posted that final bit of the application and it's entirely justified, however I disagree with how useful you're making it out to be. If you look at anyone's app regarding anything that has this question in it you will find a simple sentence that says something along the lines of "8/10, I believe I know how to roleplay." As much as I believe in the idea of forcing someone writing an app to be self critical about their RP ability I don't actually think this question fulfills that purpose. Let's take my own IPC application for example:

  24. his one's hard because I'm trying to find a way to balance between being a massive narcissist and too much self depreciation. Overall I'd say I'm pretty solid in terms of RP, being able to create a character I feel can be taken seriously within the setting and as a character. With motivations, flaws, etc. I would note that sometimes I tend to get really deep in the creation of a character and just never play them but once I have a personality I like in a role I enjoy it's pretty easy to stick with it. I have some decent amount of RP experience from Baystation12, although I'll admit I'm by no means a veteran of RP nor SS13 as a whole.

  27. Now even though one could argue this is more than "a simple sentence that says 8/10" I would argue that it's exactly the same. This is a whole lot of nothing fluff talk to get around actually saying anything. Literally all I said at the time was "I stay in character". And I can guarantee that's a far higher word count than most applicants use for it.

  29. Overall I simply find the question to be utterly useless in actually getting people to give you reasonable feedback. Was I perhaps overly harsh in my examination and words? Yes, I would say that may be the case. Do I stand by what I said regardless? Yes. I fully understand why someone may consider this as me being whiny or trying to avoid being self critical, but I assure you that I simply want a better application process that doesn't have silly questions like this.

  31. I do thank you for the reply however, even if it's a -1, because it allows me to go into greater depth with everything I said. Also apologies for accidentally posting this with just the quotes, I pressed enter when I meant to press shift+enter.
