The water drew closer and Denzela could soon see that it was indeed the lake. The water bounced hazily up and down in her field of vision.

The axe caught her in the throat. The speed at which she was traveling worsened the impact, allowing the blade to sever the head with ease.

Denzela van der Westhuizen watched from the ground as the rest of her body ran away from her, skidding to a clumsy halt, further along the track. Then, mercifully, darkness took her.
