  1. --GENERAL STRATEGY--
  2. this is a blind second deck. the goal is to make electrumite/beyond the pendulum before pend summoning, and then pend summon a bunch of high attack monsters and attack for over 8000 damage. if you lose the dice roll and are forced to go first, you should assume it's crusadia and just pass on no monsters. you could spend a lot of resources making apollousa or something, but it will probably just get kaijued anyway, so you might as well save your resources to try to otk turn 3 if they cant kill you. this deck doesnt play handtraps, so be prepared to take random losses here and there to ftk deck and combo decks that set up unbreakable boards, but i think decks like that arent really that good in this event, so it shouldnt be very common. most end boards are very breakable, which is what this deck is designed to do
  3.
  4. --BASIC LINE--
  5. let's say for example that you start with solfachord elegance, d/d savant kepler, and 4 other random cards. one basic line would be to normal kepler, search dark contract with the gate, play gate and search gryphon, special gryphon, make electrumite with gryphon+kepler, and send astrograph to the extra deck with electrumite. then scale beautia from deck with elegance, and destroy it with electrumite to add back astrograph. activate astrograph to summon itself, adding a second copy of beautia, and draw 1 from electrumite. use eletrumite and astrograph to make beyond the pendulum, and search any card you need. at this point you have 5 random cards in hand, but lets say none of them are high scales, so you can use btp to search performapal gentrude as a high scale. scale that and the second beautia, and then pend summon whatever's in your hand, plus beautia and d/d gryphon from the extra deck. you get to destroy any two cards with beyond the pendulum, and your opponent cant activate anything in response because of beautia's scale effect, and you already have 4900 damage on board without even counting whatever 3 cards you pend summoned from hand
  6.
  7. --CARD BREAKDOWN--
  8. 1) the electrumite/beyond the pendulum enablers:
  9. -d/d savant kepler/gryphon: searches dark contract with the gate, which is an extremely powerful toolbox card in this deck, and i'll talk about all of its targets later. if you search d/d gryphon, it's a free summon with kepler on field, making kepler one of *very* few one card electrumites that are in the game. note that it still activates when special summoned, so if you pend summon it, you can chain block other cards with it, and you can summon it with chronograph to get a search if you used your normal summon on something else. gryphon lets you cycle out unneeded d/d cards when you pend summon it, like extra copies of dark contract with the gate
  10.
  11. -deskbot 003: summons 005 from the deck, which is a pendulum monster, making 003 a one card beyond the pendulum. 005 also gets to destroy a spell/trap when summoned
  12.
  13. -foolish burial/dragon shrine: sends darkwurm to the gy, which is a free special summon if you control no monsters that also searches a zero scale. can also send destrudo if you drew darkwurm, or if you drawboth foolish and dragon shrine
  14.
  15. -abyss actor curtain raiser: summons itself from the scale if you control no monsters. that conflicts with darkwurm, but you can always just special summon one and then normal summon the other. it's also a 7 scale, which can be usable in a bad situation
  16.
  17.
  18. 2) the pend summon payoffs
  19. -aether the evil empowering dragon: banishes an enemy *monster* when summoned. not once per turn, but it is a when effect, so if you use electrumite to get chronograph sorcerer by destroying a scale and then summon it with chronograph, it'll miss timing, because electrumite drawing a card was chain link 1. this applies to a few other cards, so just keep it in mind for the ones that have when effects. if you destroy dark contract with the gate with electrumite, it'll work, because electrumite wont draw in that case. can be used as a 4 scale in an emergency, but a 4 scale is really bad for you, so try to avvoid that. level 6 for dhamipir vampire sheridan
  20.
  21. -yosenju misak: destroys 1 *card* when summoned, and can destroy another non-wind monster with its battle effect. this is also a when effect, and is also level 6 for sheridan
  22.
  23. -tisolfachord beautia: has a weird effect that basically destroys any monster it battles while you have scales. also has a targeted quick effect that makes the card you target get banished when it leaves the field for any reason, which can also be useful as an interruption if you cant otk. has an interesting interaction with cards like timebreaker magician that temporarily banish cards, because if the card is marked by beautia, it'll just never come back, since it was banished by beautia's effect instead. i often want to include timebreaker for that reason, but im not running it currently most importantly, it's a solfachord card, so if you pend summon it with a solfachord low scale, your opponent cant activate monster effects or spell/trap cards in response to your pend summon. often you'll want to scale it, destroy it with electrumite, and then add another copy with astrograph. the first copy can be summoned from the extra deck, and the second is your low scale, so now they cant respond to your pend summon
  24.
  25. -d/d/d supreme king kaiser: negates the effects of ALL face-up *cards* your opponent controls when pend summoned. the effect is mandatory, so it'll always be chain link 1. it'll often be chain blocked by other cards that activate when pend summoned, and if you use it alongside the solfachord pend summon they cant respond to, it's basically dark ruler no more. same thing if pend summon it along with seal eel. it's also a one card otk, because if you destroy two of your spell/traps (usually your scales or your dark contract) it attacks 3 times for 8400 damage. extremely searchable via dark contract with the gate, which it itself searchable by kepler.
  26.
  27. -deskbot 005: destroys a spell/trap when summoned, which isnt once per turn. you can summon it with 003, destroy one card, link it off, pend summon it, and destroy another one. the scale effect can potentially come up if you draw it alongside 003, but be careful because if they
  28.
  29.
  30. 3) cards that are mostly intended as scales
  31. -performapal gentrude: most of the good high scales are banned in this event, and this card is just a decent 8 scale. it discourages the enemy from destroying it, because you'd just get to scale another high scale from deck anyway, and you gain a lot of card advantage when you pop it with electrumite/astrograph.
  32.
  33. -predaplant bufolicula: this is like the only legal zero scale with a useful scale effect. if you need a low scale, you can search this with beyond the pend and open up a line to go into guardian chimera after you pend summon. if you destroy it with astrograph and add a second copy, and then pend summon the first copy and use it as fusion material, you get to add any dark pend monster from your extra deck to your hand, which is nice for followup. if you want to play a larger fusion package in the extra deck, you can also theoretically make performapal gatlinghoul and starving venemy dragon dragon.
  34.
  35. -solfachord coolia/cutia/angelia + solfachord elegance: cutia is an 8 scale, and if you normal summon her you can search a low scale. angelia can be tagged out to summon coolia from deck (which is important because angelia can be pendulum summoned, and coolia cant, since she's level 8), and coolia is a 1 scale, and also a good card to have on field if you summon her with angelia. this whole package means that elegance can always search a high or low scale, and if you open it along with another solfachord card, you can scale a high *and* low scale from deck. you need an odd low scale to use with the second effect of elegance, which is the only reason we dont just play cutia and beautia. the biggest benefit of these cards is the effect that all the low scales have, where the enemy cant activate any effects (except the effects of spells and traps that are already faceup) in response to your pendulum summon, meaning they cant negate beyond the pendulum destroying their board, they cant use something like torrential against your pend summon, etc.
  36.
  37. -supreme king gate zero: this is a zero scale that you can search with darkwurm. personal preference if you want to play two, i just like being able to destroy it with electrumite and then add a second copy with astrograph
  38.
  39. -d/d evil: this card kinda sucks, but it's the only d/d high scale that doesnt lock you into d/d cards, so it means dark contract with the gate can search a high scale if needed. i value cards that can search a high or low scale as needed pretty highly, which is the only reason i play this
  40.
  41. -performapal celestial magician: its here to search as a high scale if they destroy gentrude
  42.
  43. -metalfoes bismugear/volflame: here as a target for emergency teleport, but the fact that its an 8 scale means its not too bad to draw, since there arent many good 8 scales that are legal anyway. if you destroy it with electrumite, you can add a second copy with astrograph and then also add a volflame on end phase with bismugear's effect. hopefully there wont be an end phase, because you're killing them this turn, but in practice all kinds of random stuff can happen, and then followup ends up mattering
  44.
  45.
  46. 4) utility cards
  47. -performapal seal eel: the scale effect is a negate for a problematic monster, and the summon effect is amazing against backrow. if you get a zero scale, you can pend summon it, and then if you make it the last chain link your opponent cant activate anything in response to your pend summon. you can also just normal summon it to turn off a backrow. the summon effect is not once per turn, so you can seal one card by normal summoning it, and another by pend summoning it from the extra deck. you can scale it from the deck if gentrude gets destroyed. this is a when effect so it misses timing if summoned with electrumite + chronograph
  48.
  49. -d/d orthros: here so you can search an mst with dark contract with the gate. make sure not to pend summon it, because it'll lock you into fiends. it still works as a low scale after you destroy a card with it, which is nice
  50.
  51. -d/d dog: a situational negate you can search with dark contract with the gate, and then pend summon back from the extra deck
  52.
  53. -archfiend eccentrick: mostly here to be an mst that can also be pendulum summoned if you dont need mst. also a 7 scale can be good enough in a pinch.
  54.
  55. -astrograph: often you send astrograph to the extra deck with electrumite, and then destroy a scale to add it to the hand, and then astrograph triggers to summon itself and search a second copy of the scale you destroyed, pay careful attention to which cards are one of, to make sure you dont want astrographs search because there's no more copies of the card you destroyed in deck. you can summon this from hand to use as an extender by using the effect of orthros, d/d dog, or eccentrick.
  56.
  57. -chronograph: doesnt search from the deck like astrograph, but it summons a monster from hand, and if you summon cutia or kepler from hand, they search a card from deck anyway while also putting another monster on field. this card makes it pretty easy to make apollousa before you pend summon to protect from nibiru. it's also a level 6 for sheridan, and it's an 8 scale if you need it to be
  58.
  59. -destrudo: its a backup target for dragon shrine/foolish burial, and can let you make meteorburst to summon a scale (maybe to proc aether and help clear the board, or summon a level 7 and go into big eye, etc). it's also just a generic extender, so you can make beyond the pend with it since only one of the materials needs to be a pend monster.
  60.
  61.
  62. 5) extra deck
  63. -electrumite: usually searches astrograph or chronograph. keep in mind you can only activate one of the two in any one chain because of ocg hand trigger rules, so if you already have one of them, often it's better to search some other random card you want in hand, like an aether to summon or something. if you already have chronograph, you can even use chonograph to summon the card you search with it!
  64.
  65. -beyond the pendulum: amazing for breaking boards. play a second copy if you have one, because the search effect isn't once per turn, and you can make a second btp with the first one plus any extender if it gets negated. you can destroy your own cards with the effect if needed, but the goal is to destroy your enemy's cards. this searches basically any card in the deck, so i cant give you any shortcut for deciding what to search. it depends on the game state. making sure you have a high and low scale is first priority though, because if you cant pend summon, this card locks you out of doing basically anything. common searches for me are gentrude, bufolicula, aether, and seal eel
  66.
  67. -dhampir vampire sheridan: generic non-destruction removal for any card, gives you a body if you use it on a monster (or if you destroy a monster later on). pend summoning aether and misak to get rid of two cards, and then overlaying them into sheridan to remove a third card is just devastating.
  68.
  69. -apollousa: good if you cant otk. you can often make a 4 mat apollousa while giving your opponent 2 draws under maxx c (although the plan is usually to just take the challenge and kill them)
  70.
  71. -meteorburst dragon: dont forget this turns off all enemy monster effects in the battle phase. it stops floaters, battle faders, stuff that might negate borreload/avramax, etc. more often used for the effect to summon from scale
  72.
  73. (the rest of the extra deck is pretty generic cards that i think are fairly self explanatory, and can also mostly be replaced by other extra deck cards you happen to have)
