  1. Here's the fellow knights that Mario has to deal with:
  2. -Sir Walselot: don't feel dirty doing what I did. It's clumsy even without taking the new edge mechanics and resulting meta into account (namely that if your vertical edgeguarding sucks, your opponent is likely coming back), AND it's actually once-in-a-blue-moon because of the increased emphasis to on-stage play and proper tanking. Both of which this guy milks for what it's worth. The big point is, with that sort of stuff being more important, learning how to use your character's anti-armor properly becomes more important than ever before. It turns out that the guy's recovery problems are actually a check toward attempts at durability abuse, obviously something that couldn't be pulled in the earlier games.

  4. By the way, the guy actually proves to not be broken. I actually beat the guy under the control of the RL friend with the next opponent, while the RL friend, using Mario himself as his own demo main, could go toe to toe with me using him. Both of us, naturally, noticed how buffed he was compared to in Brawl. Oh, Brawl...
  5.
  6. Of course, when Sir Walselot reliably KOs at least once within 2 minutes and can quite possibly do it TWICE, you can see the reason for the 2 KO rule for this challenge.
  7.
  8. -Sir Trapselot: my own trapping ability isn't good, but you can bet the AI sucks with it too. NEXT!
  9.
  10. -Sir Shootselot: another character the AI wouldn't understand how to use by guarding against rushes properly. NEXT!
  11.
  12. -Sir Spazzelot: with this electric jackhole, I have to say that while I'm still not confident in SSB4's ability to check guys like him, I'm SO glad that it's much easier to counterattack. Despite what people say, the game in general is faster. It's still only a theory but I think nerfed KB values has to do with it is what is catching them off guard. Also, with edgehogging being impossible now, vertical recovery characters can recover low to grab it much more safely. For this, I think the edgeguarding game is less favoring of speedsters just because of frequency, because guys like Sir Spazzelot will be knocked off stage more often due to their lower durability.
  13.
  14. -Sir Mirrorselot: funny thing. As I stated multiple times in the past, I'm a Squishy Wizard, and it would show when this mirror match is not something I would excel at. And of course, this is about The Mario in a fighting game. I can't complain too much about Mario being set up to reflect the actual skills of the player as his trophy description in Melee mentions, I just would rather that these games keep things for the Squishy Wizard challenging but still fair.
