  1. Aaron wasn't sure how to get over the obstacle - that is being his own magickal prowess working merely against specific enemies. He needed to do something about that, and fast. Keitaro wasn't that strong but due to his affinity with lightning, his magick packed quite the punch.
  2.
  3. "I'm sure I can do it this time - I just... Believe I should do something other than fucking nothing. You don't understand how... Smothering - that is."
  4.
  5. He'd twirl his staff into his grasp, the Rowan clearly determined - perhaps one of the first times he'd ever shown how determined he is. He had something to prove - if not to his brother, perhaps to himself?
  6.
  7. "Let's go, Keitaro."
  8. (Aaron Rowan)
  9.
  10. Adrian hung his arms over his knees, tired slits focusing on Aaron for a moment. Even if it was harsh, he was going, to be honest. ''You are weak, brother. And also annoying-- Change your attitude while you train too, enough foul language.''
  11. (Adrian Rowan)
  12.
  13.
  14. Aaron Rowan says, "I'm only annoying to you, apparently."
  15.
  16. Aaron Rowan says, "Everyone else enjoys my company."
  17. Aaron shrugs.
  18. (Aaron Rowan)
  19.
  20.
  21. Adrian Rowan says, "That's because most people you end up kissing their feet, I have watched you."
  22. If Aaron wanted test of combat, then he would get it.
  23.
  24. The Shenlong was done playing around or being nice all the time; if anything, strength ruled Agartha, and he realized that very quickly. If he wanted to be efficient hero, he would have to become something much, much more greater than others could ever be. With the tapping of spiritmancy and many other arts, doubtless, he would achieve what he wants. But that has a price...
  25.
  26. Sweat, toil and effort.
  27.
  28. The slits of Drakanite were overcame with the sky-like hue of lightning, of pure thunder and storm in its bright essence - no mix of windy or moisture predisposition, nothing like that. Instead, the arcs of electricity extended out, shrouding two parties in a cage that would otherwise be impenetrable, unless either wanted to sacrifice their very lifeforce for that.
  29.
  30. And inevitably, lose.
  31.
  32. Ground shook, passing leaf was fried, and the grass was scorched. Day by day, he was training to be something better, and even if Aaron was leagues behind, he wouldn't go soft on him - he had to show him just how much difference lies in there.
  33.
  34. Lightning roared around them in conjured cage, and he spoke.
  35.
  36. "Bring it on."
  37. (Keitaro)
  38.

  80.
  81. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  82.
  83. The dragon's lightning was unrivalled.
  84.
  85. Where Aaron sought to match Keitaro in a fight like this, it was futile; the gravity and energy brought about the balance that he could very much use, but the dexterous nature that Keitaro possessed allowed him to bob and weave around any obstacle that the Rowan could put up. He may not be the best fighter out there, but he was still fairly good. In his eyes, that was more than enough to go out there and roam.
  86.
  87. But for Aaron? That was a different story entirely.
  88.
  89. When the lightning sought to sear the flesh of Drakanite, the scales would cover his body as much as it possibly can. The holy magic allowed him to endure... much more than anyone could ever hope to, and that skill was impressive on its own. His blood boiled in veins, surging the lightning to appear in its full glory everytime they clashed.
  90.
  91. If Aaron brought spark, then Keitaro brought storm.
  92.
  93. He catches him slip. He finds an ample opportunity to strike, and where Aaron seeks to shelter himself from the assault of Shenlong, he's pushed right to the cage of electricity that sought to restrict his movement. A sudden burst to all sides, and Aaron is caught off guard.
  94.
  95. "Got you."
  96.
  97. A fist, engulfed in lightning, struck against Aaron's chest- again and again, almost elevating him in the air. This was not to injure him, but to give him a lesson just how dangerous things can be out there; knocking the air out of his lungs, and repeatedly shocking him, this could be well enough to cause blackout.
  98.
  99. thud. Thud. THUD.
  100.
  101. Strike after strike, eventually, he's flung against the cage, only to be shocked more. At last, the circle disappears around them, and the Shenlong's vision of sky-hue fades. He merely stares at Aaron, and he's quick to tell himabout it.
  102.
  103. "Convinced now?"
  104.
  105. "This is no joke. Others could kill you like this."
  106. (Keitaro)
  107.
  108. The Rowan tried his best, but he still knows he had to go beyond. There's a lot on stake here, but - he didn't want to go all out, Keitaro was still a friend after all. Perhaps, that's one of his most defining features. He cared a little too much.
  109.
  110. Dodging most of the strikes directed his way, Aaron faltered - Keitaro came at him with the intent to almost maim, perhaps - that's why the Rowan faltered as much. There's no intent in actually moving past the limit Aaron put upon himself.
  111.
  112. "Shit-.." He muttered, caught in lightning - Keitaro proceeded to send a barrage of punches, one after the other - clearly specific in location. Each punch moved to a different direction, only for the rotation to end and repeat the same process. It hit all his ribs, and focused on distressing his breathing..
  113.
  114. The Rowan landed face first into the ground, with the wind knocked right out of him. He gasped for breath before, digging his hand through the dirt.
  115.
  116. ".. again... I can do it... This time.." He coughed out, not much air going in as there is that went out.
  117. (Aaron Rowan)
  118.
  119. Aaron had fallen, with Keitaro beating him relatively easily. Did the other Rowan Twin really expect to win? He really did need to train more, to grow-- He was so far behind, even some of the newer students were surpassing him.
  120.
  121. ''You can't do it, not even close. You need to go home, and train-- Or something. You are rude, but you could never follow how fast your mouth moves.
  122.
  123. Think about that brother, when you are cursing and saying stupid stuff. And people tolerate you because you seem to not show that side often, while those that witness it are clearly put off by it.
  124.
  125. I love you, which is why I am going to tell you to go home again. And if you follow or I find you out alone? I'll cripple you, and drag you back to Niklaus even if he is angry at me for doing it.''
  126.
  127. Shaking his head, he cared a lot for him. Aaron could be annoying and unbearable, but Adrian wouldn't let him get himself hurt. If he had to snap his leg, it was better him than Ilui or anyone evil out there in Agartha.
  128.
  129. ''Don't be me, like you said-- I am a failure, right? So where I failed, you can succeed. Go home.''
  130. (Adrian Rowan)
  131.
  132. Eventually, the lightning dissipates from the battlefield.
  133.
  134. No longer shaking the ground with the power of pure, massive lightning that the Shenlong was naturally attuned to and capable to push beyond its limits, the cage around them was slowly disappearing- only scorched areas on Aaron's body was the reminder of what remained just a moment ago, combined with the countless punches that were delivered with intent that could almost resemble maiming - and yet, not enough to really injure him for long.
  135.
  136. It still hurt. A lot.
  137.
  138. "You hesitate."
  139.
  140. "You do not invest every single piece of your being into becoming something better and overcoming that obstacle. You're just throwing yourself against it - but you're supposed to reflect on your mistakes."
  141.
  142. "As I did on mine. Quit thinking of this pity. Quit thinking of what you should do and what you shouldn't - and just do it. For now..."
  143.
  144. Where Aaron tries to struggle on the ground, another bolt drops down upon him; it's a reminder of cage's energy, all to ensure that he stays down and is put away from efforts to fight again. This was not his place to act like that, and he only had to become stronger.
  145.
  146. "Don't try it."
  147.
  148. "Go home. You have much to learn, still."
  149. (Keitaro)
