background | [WARNING: contains mentions of eating disorders, and tragic(ally cliché) storyline] suhyun was a very chubby child (an understatement) and was usually the target of bullying because of it. people either pitied her or bullied herㅡmostly the latterㅡ but she had never really cared that much about what other people said or how they always managed to make some passive-aggressive about her excessive eating habits. all she knew was that she had two good parents that loved each other and loved her, and that they were so well off she didn't have to worry about most anything she wanted to buy. now, of course, the teasing did come with some side effects; it had turned her into a hopeless romantic. for years, suhyun only hoped that some boy would sweep her off her feet and tell her that what other people said about her didn't matter because they knew she was beautiful inside and out; she wanted one of those boys that people wrote about and watched in dramas. her dream seemed to have come true when she turned 14. a boy (tall, cute, and definitely knew his way with words) had wormed his way into her life and took her heart. then smashed it into a million pieces six months later. like she actually was in some tragic drama, the boy of suhyun's dreams turned out to be fake. after six months of his sweet words and soft smiles, the boy turned out to only be dating her as a joke. as a way to get things from her (she had a horrible tendency of spoiling those she loves). he told her mean thingsㅡ h o r r i b l e thingsㅡ about how "no one would never date a fatass like you... unless you had money" and more. all of the things he said (added with the words from the past that he lied about disagreeing with) had caused suhyunㅡsensitive and impressionableㅡ to develop anorexia nervosa & bulimia. for years she struggled with the disorder, happy about losing weight but never feeling as if she lost enough. being recruited by sm entertainment at 17 for acting after they had seen her at the school play her drama teacher forced her to join (she didn't like the way people stared at and whispered about her as if her becoming thinner was some sort of miracle), didn't make anything easier. it actually kind of made it worse, until she turned 20 and she decided that no one would want someone as skinny as her to act for any role other than a dead person. so she fought for yearsㅡ still fighting todayㅡ to overcome it. nowadays, she's been happier. acting carefree and trying not to stress about the constant thoughts of her gaining weight that invaded her mind.
