- The guy on Roman’s left had a shaved head and a square jaw and an overly serious expression on his face. His eyes darted too and fro, seeking threat. The guy on Roman’s right had slicked black hair and a neatly trimmed black beard and the same deep tan as Roman. He looked unconcerned. The guy out front was older, weathered, with a close-cropped flat top the color of granite. He looked alert, and wary. My guess is he’d seen the real thing before. Of the three, I figured Deep Tan for the weak link, Baldy the most trigger-happy. Sarge would be the hardest.
